Got a room here the other night, and they attempted to steal our ID and debit card. after checking in while leaving the lobby we noticed we had not got out debit card and ID back. We stopped In the doorway to check our bags and the owner/manager was very defensive. He commented that he had cameras so we should not be worried and claimed he returned our cards. We didn't want to make a issue so we went to our room to check all our stuff. Cards were nowhere to be found, our friends went down to ask the manager again if he saw them and he told them if there is any problem to call the police. It's about 2 in the morning and we decide we need our stuff back. We went down to the office to ask if they could check the printer were he placed the cards. They refused and said we must come back in the morning. This is when they got really defensive, they called the police, threatened to assault us if we did not leave and said we could no longer stay there. All while cursing at me and my wife and insulting us. Long story short, they finally actually looked for our cards and "found" them in the printer as we were on the brink of an increasingly escalating situation. I would never stay here again and just glad we got our stuff back. Careful staying here and if this happens to you know they probably have it

Booked online at 1130 and arrived a couple minutes later since it was a couple blocks away. Guy was rude and said we don’t do checkins after 11. Well then let Expedia know that.. don’t be rude to guests who want to give you business. Cute property is the only reason this got 3 stars. Breakfast is all carbs. Needs a bowl with fresh fruit.

Disgusting! We arrived one night and immediately found bed bugs. Not just one or two, but in the span of 5 minutes we found 6 bugs. The room looks really shabby and super old. There were random stains on the walls as well as the door. The bathroom looked ancient. We paid about 210 dollars for a room with 2 queen beds. The location is also terrible as there are loud bars near by and you can hear loud cars every 2 min. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great spot to stay in SF. One of the few places that doesn’t charge $$$$ for parking. Comfortable clean room. Easy access to transit. Definitely will check this place out again if we need another room in SF.

This wouldn't be my first choice for my stay in the City when I come again. This property is very convenient, and if you were parking, it is super easy to access and safe. However, the property itself is dated and not well cared for, and the front desk staff are not friendly or helpful. I arrived to find the elevator completely out of service (and I was on the third floor, with no one to help with my large bags), the toilet seat completely cracked (and looked like it had been for a while), the furniture in disrepair, multiple wall issues (broken, cracked, etc), the bed with four teeny tiny pillows and very poor quality linens, and a broken thermostat. This hotel only has it location going for it, and it is leaving everything else until it completely falls apart. It's disappointing that such a cute mid-century hotel is not better taken care of. There is a lot of potential here, but there seems to be no will to take advantage of it. TLDR, stay somewhere else.

Nice place in a great location to stay in SF with a good breakfast. The staff is friendly. They solved our problem with earring in the sink in 10 minutes.

We recently spent two nights at this motel. Granted, this is one of the least expensive motels in the San Francisco area, so that was the primary selling point. However, upon arrival, we went to our rooms via the stairs; the desk clerk informed us that the elevator is not working. When we got to the room, the first thing that you notice is the dĂŠcor. Keeping in mind that this is neither a branded hotel nor expensive, but the rooms have not been updated in at least 30 years. The couch had dark stains on the cushions as did the chair. The furniture was cheaply made and it showed. Everything seemed to work, however the bathroom faucet was loose and could actually be picked up off of the vanity, which obviously shouldn't happen. The parking is extremely limited, for the number of rooms available, so that is a concern. Would I stay here again? Only if there was nothing else available, as a last resort.

We stayed at Motel Capri whilst visiting San Francisco for 4 days with our young daughter. This place is amazing, and very affordable for San Francisco and the staff and owners are dedicated to making the guests experience the best it can be! My Dad has over 20 years experience in the accommodation sector, so I know what I'm looking for in a room. Super clean white bedding, not a single mark on it. A very good quality Sealy bed, with a full mattress cover, mattress protector, then bedding. The room was spotlessly clean. Not a single thing out of place, and bonus, aircon which with the 30°C heat experienced on Saturday, it was necessary. Motel Capri was also able to accommodate our request for a ground floor room, which was helpful with a young child, and the amount of luggage we had, which we were very grateful for. The room we had was comfortably big enough to fit our daughters travel cot in, 3 large suitcases, a buggy, and there was still room. The bathroom was large, there was a cupboard in the bathroom, and a suitcase rack, as well as an iron, ironing board, and coat hangers. There was also a table and 2 chairs which was nice. Just if anyone is wondering, we had a king accessible room. The location is amazing, a block back from Lombard, so very quiet, but still close to the hustle and bustle, only about a 10 minute stroll to Fort Mason which has spectacular views. In reception, there is also information for people, and a computer with a printer which is very handy. The breakfast room was adequate, had a selection of cereals, toast and various drinks. It was open from 8-10am and was nice to go and get something to eat before starting the day. They also offer WiFi which was very good. If you are looking for clean, comfortable, well priced accommodation in San Francisco, that's in am awesome location, this place is for you. We will stay again when we return to San Francisco. Thanks for the wonderful stay! The Cherry Family 🍒

If you want to be in the centre then maybe not the right place, however is a few minutes walk from 2 big your bus routes so easy to get back to. The lady owner lovely, but a miserable man wouldn't assist getting a taxi. Breakfast is cereal ahd toast but got us going. Room was fine, clean and enough space to breathe. Shower really good. WiFi very good.

Room was very spacious and clean . The cable TV is a nice addition on top of the big TV. There is a fridge, heater/cooler and coffee machine inside the room. The elevator was not working so had to carry my heavy luggage to the second floor. Lobby had a strong Indian incense odor, maybe they can tone that down a bit. Location is quite close to all the attractions, need a bit of walk to go the Ghirardelli square, Fisherman’s wharf etc. Will definitely repeat the stay if we get the chance 😊

Terrible customer service! I made a reservation at this hotel through a 3rd party company, that unfortunately had to be rescheduled. I was told there would be no charge for this, then got charged anyway. I called about this and was told the refund was pending. Now it's several months later and I still have no refund. I call the property again, and am immediately told that I am wasting their time and they hang up on me. I tried to call back, and the manager refuses to answer the phone, like a child. I call the 3rd party online booking company, and they have notes showing that there will no charges, so they call the property for me, and managent tells them that he refuses to send any refund. I can't believe how rude this experience was! I can only imagine how terrible it would be to actually stay there. Horrible, horrible management. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the issues of working with this property. THEY WILL STEAL AND LIE TO YOU!

Hotel itself is fairly nice for the price but many little things made our stay less enjoyable. Website said light breakfast included but NOT true. No option to eat on site. Pillows very small. We asked twice for extra pillows but they were never brought to us. One of the curtain was missing in our room (room 216) which made it very bright early in the morning and all woke us up at 6 am. Our window was facing a relatively busy street and was noisy the weekend (people singing and screaming) but was fine on weekdays Hotel is well situated . Free parking was very nice as expensive elsewhere in San Francisco

Motel Capri was the choice of lodging for a few nights during a recent weekend away. The location and cost were the primary reason for staying here, and ultimately the value of our stay was about what you would expect. Location & Features 5/5 - The area that the motel is situated is great. It is easily within walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants, attractions, and interesting locations. We were able to walk to most things and not have to deal with driving. A significant bonus is that the motel has parking, a luxury in SF. Noise and Cleanliness 2/5 The room was fairly quiet throughout the stay, although the walls and ceiling are pretty thin, so the sound of water flushing, cleaning staff vacuuming, and people shouting out on the street were audible, but not generally enough to be much of a problem. The room wasn't the cleanest but not egregiously dirty. We found a bottle cap left under a nightstand and some hair on the floors. Overall though the room was adequately clean. Comfort 3/5 - The comfort was okay. The queen bed was a medium of firmness, but the springs were pretty squeaky. The blankets and sheets were so thin they were basically useless, and there were at least a few holes in them. Bathroom 2/5 The bathroom was okay, but not great. Toilet was slow to flush, but fine. Shower was good, although a bit finicky to get the temperature right. Overall 4/5 Ultimately it's hard to complain much about the negatives, considering the price. If you know what you’re paying for and what you’re getting it's in line with expectations.

Was there for 3 nights. It has the basics to affordably stay in San Francisco. What is affordable in this city? Room is smaller than others I have visited, features were outdated and in disrepair to some degree. I assume all other rooms are in similar shape. Bring your own shower head, low water pressure. Free parking, free american breakfast (8 to 10) am. Great area, always felt safe when on the street. Walking distance to restaurants and popular tourist spots. Big bus stop two blocks away on Lombard street. Check in male receptionist kind of... Rude, careless. Staff was great, excluding previous entry, interacted with two of them, they were really helpful, nice, respectful and chatty. I will certainly consider staying again on my next trip.

Amazing location in a very quiet area and fairly close to a lot of popular attractions (Lombard St, Golden gate, Fisherman's warf). Lots of restaurants within 5mn, bus stop is really close too and can take you almost anywhere for $5 a day. Rooms are a little outdated but really clean and with a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. No breakfast and no baggage drop so if you arrive early you'll need to find somewhere else to drop your luggage. I would still recommend that place for the location and overall comfort of the rooms. You really get the feel of where the locals live and feel safe to walk around anytime of the day and night.

Reading reviews and think “these people giving one star must just be dramatic” well trust the one star reviews. I stayed here thinking it was going to be a cute boutique retro experience from the pictures. It was so run down and filthy. I attached my own pictures for you to see what I mean. The bathroom tile was cracked all over the place, the toilet paper holder was broken, the light switch covers were broken, exposed lighting inside the shower, holes in the curtains, broken lamp shades…. I’m just baffled at how bad it was. You have to really go out of your way to ignore this as rooms are being “cleaned”. On that note who even knows if they clean them. The lamp was visibly dusty, the headboards too. There was even a small stain on the towels. Don’t stay here for your vacation. Spend the extra money to go somewhere else.

Relatively small room but big and comfy bed. Floor and furniture look clean even if ceiling has some stains. Room cleaning was late, sometimes after 8 pm. Very noisy, you hear everything from outside and walking from other rooms. Easy check-in and out. Water was bad, probably the same in all SF though. Overall, was "ok" for the price...

Retro chic motel conveniently located in Marina District, walking distance to Palace of Fine Arts and beautifully restored Crissy Field/Golden Gate Park Recreation Area. BEST PART - YOUR ROOM PRICE INCLUDES A PARKING SPACE IN THEIR LOT!! The owner, who was very accommodating, allowed me to stay parked in my space for an extra hour after check-out so that I could meet a friend for lunch at Balboa Cafe down the block without having to stress about trying to find street parking! Those of you who have spent any time in San Francisco know (I lived there for 6 years) parking can be a nightmare! Although our room could have benefited from a little updating (our cheap plastic mini blinds were broken) it was clean with spacious enough beds, closets, and mini-fridge. Bonus - there's an elevator so you don't have to drag all your bags up the stairs! All in all, it was "a pleasant stay in San Francisco," just like like it says on the Motel Capri business card:)

I gave this 5 stars, not because it is a true 5 star hotel, but for an extremely well priced motel in a great location in San Francisco, I couldn't rate it better for the money. Clean, nicely appointed room. Good location. A bit small, but we we only needed a place to crash briefly, not spend a bunch of time in. I would come back here with no hesitation, and recommend it if you don't need a hotel with amenities.

I'm speaking from my own experience and to me this is probably one of the best and most affordable motels you can find in San Francisco. The room was decently big and cozy with comfy beds and pillows, bathroom was sparkling clean, not to mention the staff was friendly and attentive. Location wise, it's great. I didn't have to worry about what to eat as there are lots of restaurants nearby. Overall, my 2 night stay at this motel had been pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to hit up this place again someday in the future.

Very good starting point within SF when you want to ditch your car and use public transportation. The busstation was around the corner. Parking is free and on the property which was absolutely great. They have very large rooms but also normal sized rooms for a hotel. The large ones have a kitchenette area and tables. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but very clean. We would definitely come back for a short stay!

Great location and a good price but the remodel on this hotel seemed incomplete. We were missing a shower bar in the bathroom, there was a skylight that didn't close, and the numbers on the doors were written on blue painters tape. The beds were reasonably comfortable. It was nice to be able to walk to Chestnut St. and all the nearby restaurants, and I went on a run down to the Marina Green one morning. I think I might stay here again if the price was right.
