You can’t be the location for walkability to great bars, restaurants and parks! It’s blocks from two high traffic shopping and dining areas, and was super safe and well lit for evening activities. The rooms are dated but refreshed. Comfy beds, stiff pillows, but are very well managed and clean. They’re not the quietest for neighbor noise, because all rooms face into the courtyard, but it was moderately full when we stayed, and everyone seemed aware and respectful of shared spaces and quiet areas. The windows have louvered blinds but don’t block out a lot of light. The staff were kind and welcoming. I would stay there again!

Great find at a good price. We picked the Del Sol seeing the bright colors and very secure parking on the ground floor of the hotel. Mostly a residential area, but a great 20minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Saw almost no evidence of a homeless problem in and area and single ladies and Mom's were comfortably walking around. Excellent beds and shows we'll definitely stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay here while visiting San Francisco for the first time! It’s a cute and whimsical motel in the Marina District. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast spread was beautiful with local pastries and yummy quick options. Secure parking was not guaranteed but we had no trouble getting it all but one night (they removed the fee for the night we didn’t park there). There was some construction but it did not affect our stay. The beds are so comfy and we slept wonderfully after long days trekking the SF hills. The area around is great for bars, shopping and restaurant options. Walk down to the Marina Green in the morning. You won’t regret it!!!

First time visiting SF!! Hotel and staff were amazing. I felt safe and loved the private parking spots ($30/night & FCFS) there is also a small parking lot right beside the building. Location is perfect so many things to do within walking distance. Loved the atmosphere and bright colors in the courtyard/pool area. I had the deluxe king suite, room was a decent size and the bed was super comfy. Only complaint, I hope they put mini fridges and maybe microwaves in all the rooms eventually then it’d be 5/5 for me. Also super pet friendly which is a must for me when traveling. Will definitely be my go to hotel.

We 100% adored this property. I love a place with a retro vibe. Even though the building is "vintage", it was clean, cute and comfortable. Beds were a dream. Staff was SUPER friendly. Free breakfast was awesome and way more than expected. Pretty sure the almond filled croissant and coffee would have cost me $10 around the corner. Location can't be beat and is walking distance from so much. My only small advice would be to have refrigerator in the room. Other than that 10/10

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The service was awesome- very accomodating of us with an early check in, and always there if we needed anything. Location was unbeatable- short bus rides to all of our stops at local attractions, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for meals. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the overall vibe of the place was amazing. We loved our stay!

My wife and I stayed here recently for 3 nights during a last-minute trip to San Francisco. The staff, specifically Andrew, was amazing and so accommodating. They absolutely went above and beyond to take care of us during our stay. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The hotel itself isn't very big, but they do have parking on the premises, a pool, and a courtyard area. The rooms themselves were cozy and clean. The included wifi was fast and I was able to work and join large Zoom calls with no issues. There was free breakfast every morning consisting of pastries, coffee, tea, and juice. Just don't expect full breakfast meals to be served. I will absolutely stay here again in the future when visiting San Francisco. 10/5 Stars.

If you like beds that are like colors then you’ll love this place, but they were too soft for us. Very nice remodel has taken place here. Not enough sockets for electronics, so go prepared. There are only blinds on the windows not drapes where you can sleep in which wasn’t a big deal for us because we had to be up at 4:30 anyway..

This hotel is in a great area--quiet, but very close to great coffee, food, and the bay. Anyone up for a decent walk can make it to the Golden Gate Bridge via East Beach and Chrissy Park, or turn to the east and walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel itself is delightful. Friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, bright colors that vibe of California. The one hold back I had was that our room smelled rather musty. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel has a great vibe and feel! Staff is excellent. The location in the marina district was perfect for us. And we enjoyed the morning and afternoon coffee and treats! Although the parking is an extra charge, as one would expect, it was well worth it to come and go and park close by.

We love this place. The color palette, the cleanliness, the pool lounge are all great. The location is perfect for us and the dog-friendly aspect is ideal. The staff is wonderful. We stay here every time!

The rooms were fine and clean with some details that needed to be addressed (slow drains, empty soap dispensers, burned out bulbs). I appreciated the text checking in to see how we were doing and they did come address the issues. Location is fantastic for dining options and the continental breakfast was OK though make sure to get there early. The courtyard area was a disappointment as the pool is dirty and they allow cars to park in the courtyard which was kind of torn up and not inviting with tables and chairs as I expected. We didn't have good weather so we couldn't have really used the courtyard anyway but knowing how it is I probably would look somewhere else in the future.

Hotel del Sol was truly a home away from home! I was welcomed before check-in with a spacious suite that they upgraded for me for free. Clean, bright, comfortable, and extremely helpful staff made this stay such a restful and pleasant experience. As a woman traveling solo, I felt extremely safe in this well-lit, secure place. From the beautiful courtyard and unique mosaic artwork to the delicious complimentary breakfast and central location, this hotel will be my go-to every time I visit San Francisco. After grueling days of research, I looked forward to coming back to the hotel. It was like my little island paradise. If you’re on the fence, choose Hotel Del Sol. This place will exceed your expectations.

We booked 4 nights at the Hotel Del Sol but left after one. We were a family of 5 and were attracted by their family room and pictures of a light and bright room, and fun courtyard and pool. Unfortunately when we arrived everything was dark in the courtyard despite having a fiteplace, lights and warmers by the pool. We had to ask to have the fireplace lit and a warmer lit so swimming would be possible. The fireplace was lit and we enjoyed a glass of wind outside but the warmers never lit so the kids never got to swim. The front desk person was unfriendly about having to come help. She treated us as an inconvenience, we took her away from her cell phone both times we asked for help. We even tried to help ourselves as we could feel how inconvenient we were but were told "Guests aren't supposed to do that". In addition to the treatment by staff the hotel does not provide the amenities or overall feel that the pictures do. The courtyard is all but deserted although it has great potential. The rooms are also cramped with no where to put anything or unpack. After unpacking our family of 5, we had to repack and transfer to another hotel. The staff person, Tiffany, very reluctantly allowed us a late check out so that we could wait to repack everything until we could check in at our new hotel. She had told my husband no but allowed it after I came in and basically begged. No smiles, no warmth and no interest in assisting us. I have some reality based pictures that I will try to post. I suggest looking at the traveler photos when making your booking decision and not the hotel's photos.

We had a pleasant experience at Hotel Del Sol. The cost-friendly suites made it a great choice for our family since we have young kids. We were able to place them on the pullout in the living room while we stayed awake in the master bedroom. The breakfast was surprisingly well sourced, with plenty of fresh bread and pastry options. No hot items but we always felt like we had plenty to eat and the kids were happy with it too. The AC was only in the living room, so the bedroom got quite warm in August. Opening windows helped but late at night things were too noisy to leave it open. A ceiling fan would fix this easily! Parking is available on site but is first come first serve each day. So if the main lot is full you have to go get a spot in a lot across the street. It seemed possible this may also fill sometimes in which case you'd have to find street parking, but this did not occur for us during our four night stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. A big note is that if you want anything cleaned during your stay (beyond fresh towels) then you must request it a full day in advance. The room was very clean upon our arrival and we did not require this during our stay.

My partner and I absolutely loved this hotel. It's super cute and is in a very cute neighborhood with lots to do in walking distance. The room was spacious and bright. Our bed was super comfy and the breakfast was really good. The staff was very kind and helpful. The front desk concierge told us all about the public transportation and it was easy to use and nearby. I would say the tv could use some improvement, but that's not very important to me. Would definitely stay here again!

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years because I love the location and it has parking. And if you have a pet they are pet friendly. The third floor room we stayed in looks like it was recently painted and maybe updated a bit. They’re also revamping the courtyard area. The rooms overall are pretty basic and some of the furniture probably needs to be replaced. It’s not a high end hotel but there are some nice touches like the continental breakfast and bath robes.

We had an incredible stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious, and the location in the Marina District was unbeatable. You could walk or take the Muni to pretty much anywhere. Hotel Del Sol provided assorted baked goods and local coffee for breakfast every morning. Sound proofing between rooms was also great. So glad we found this place for our vacation!

Love this place! Staff I'd great super nice and friendly. They don't bother you unless you ask them for room service. Super quiet and clean. Def will be back. Price was decent as well. You do have to have a credit card for deposit though and they charge amenities fees which I didn't know until I checked out.

Warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and wonderful recommendations for place to eat. Great and clean area around there too. Comfortable room with a desk to work from and not too noisy at all. Continental breakfast in the morning was decent too. Super customer service oriented. After checking out, I was alerted to leaving a power cord in the room. They had no problem dropping it in the mail to me. Highly recommend this place.

It is in a great location - safe and quiet yet lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Our boys loved the pool and we all loved the breakfast! Such a nice, chilled atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. We loved it!

I loved this hotel. It's a diamond!!! Perfect parking availability, comfy beds, very cute patio, excellent service and great location!!!! We were looking to dump our car off at 10am bc check in was at 3... And the young lady went above and beyond and just checked us in! We didn't have to come back to the hotel to check in! Thank you!!! I will def stay here when I visit SF again.

We have stayed at Hotel Del Sol previously and returned because we like the area and this specific hotel. The staff are friendly, attentive and work hard. The hotel is a refurbished motor lodge so it meets the basic needs for lodging but we like the open space by the pool where you can relax or have your breakfast and the convenience to the Marina area. They do a nice job keeping the property clean and providing a light breakfast. Be sure to try the afternoon cookies. We noticed some upgrades since our visit in March 2022 such as the new HVAC units and a new exterior entrance to the hotel providing improved security (a code is needed for entry after dark---we really like this!). Both times we opted not to have daily cleaning service but we could get towels replaced as needed. If you stay here, be prepared for some late night street noise coming from patrons of neighborhood bars. We plan to return to Hotel Del Sol on our next visit to SF.

We stumbled onto this place looking for a place that was pet friendly. The people that work there are very friendly and very cheerful. Everyone was very willing to help any questions. They had answers. And the price was very reasonable. It is a little confusing on how to get into the parking lot but I see that's been done by design. I have no complaints about this place. Would definitely stay here again

The location of the hotel is great for restaurants, shopping and walking to the marina. The place is clean and bright. The bathroom was tiny. A second towel rack could be added to the back of the door. It's a no-frills place, so the price is lower than other accommodation in the same area. We don't mind reusing our towels and making our own bed. However, we were disappointed that the room was not cleaned daily, not even the trash bins emptied. A small breakfast is offered which you pick up from reception and then eat in your room, which is why we hoped they would empty the bins daily. We felt we got value for our money, but we will not be staying there again.

Accommodated an early check-in very easily, staff were friendly, rooms were clean and breakfast was great. Couldn't ask for a better location - right near major bus lines to get to different spots of the city and felt very central without the loudness of more touristy areas The neighbourhood was safe and the hotel locked the gate each night so vehicles were secure.Lovedd the vibe of the hotel and the courtyard with hammocks and tables and a heated pool. Water pressure in the shower was the only thing disappointing but definitely loved our stay here!

Me, my husband, and my 4 year stayed here for 2 nights in San Francisco and really enjoyed our stay! We booked a Junior suite and upon arrival the room was extremely clean, and they had gone ahead and set up the pull out couch for our daughter— very much appreciated over the wrestling I’ve done with others at other hotels. The customer service was excellent as well; the front desk worker (Jeffrey maybe? Unfortunately cannot remember his name). Gave us tons of tips about the area, showing us places on a map, and making sure we didn’t get skunked on parking by warning us of the areas that are most expensive! We ended up walking everywhere. He also made sure that our car was in line of sight of the security cameras since we had to park in the overflow lot. Because the hotel is so central, there was a ton of street noise Saturday night when we were trying to sleep with the windows open, but closing them and turning on a white noise app solved that problem. It was in the low 60s and we were able to take a swim because the pool was so warm, much to our daughters delight! Would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel in a great location. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. The hotel is on the pricey side but staff are friendly. Note that the King rooms don't have a fridge or a kettle. Also, they charge you a $50 bond per day that is (hopefully) later being released when you leave. However, they don't mention this during check in! So that can be a bit of a surprise when you check your bank account. Cleaning service is only available upon request. Another thing that could easily be mentioned during check in. The heating unit wasn't working and took a while to fix but staff were helpful.

The people that work at this hotel are all very helpful, super friendly. The hotel is very clean. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to restaurant and transportation just down the street. Very close to the ocean so at night when the city is quiet you can hear the boats blow horn. My family and I were very happy to stay at this hotel. My kids specially enjoyed the pool and fresh cookies everyday.
