Definitely not what it shows in the pictures online. My bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the room wasn't cleaned very well. Definitely not enough parking for the guests. I guess the only good thing it was right across the street from the beach. But we didn't venture that far because the homeless had taken over the sidewalk and were yelling and fighting.

Oh boy... This place 🤦🏼‍♀️ For starters, if they make you sign a waiver for not being reliable for property left, believe them. Yeah the view was pretty but it's not worth it. There's homeless camps all around this place, we were terrified that our car was getting broken into because we heard car alarms going off all through the night. Drunks and crackheads were in the room next to us and they kept slamming doors, yelling into our window. The towels had stains all over them, the paint was peeling off the walls. The sheets smelled clean... But idk. The room smelled musty and like cigarettes. I would recommend this place at all. It's sketchy. Pay more for a better stay somewhere else.

Hmmmm…what can I say……absolutely wonderful location if your aim is to be near the beach and Golden Gate Park & great friendly staff. If your looking for comfort, it won’t be here. Mattress’ are super old with zero softness. Probably one of, if not the worst places I have ever stayed. But, again it’s all about the location, very convenient, but that’s it.

Worst motel I’ve ever stayed at. Pretty rough area. Saw someone breaking into a car right as we were parking. Quite a few homeless people. Stains on the walls. Broken tiles in bathroom. Mattress was indented and pretty much all springs. Carpet was curling away from wall. Honestly, the start of a horror movie. Pay up $10-20 and stay somewhere safe and clean.

I recently stayed at the Rodeway Inn. The rooms are worn. The beds were sunken mattresses, although fresh linens. The walls were thin, and we could hear everything. The room smelled terrible, like cigarettes. The sliding door to the closest in the main room was glass was broken. The other room didn’t even have any doors on the closet. The bathroom walls were so dirty. If I could have got a refund, I would have gone somewhere else. There was no hair dryer or iron or a small refrigerator and microwave, but I did not use probably the only positive thing about this place is the beach right across the street. The pictures on Expedia were outdated. Very disappointed.

Was in San Fran for a surgery, the hospital was able to get my mom and I a room at this location. Room was dated, but clean. The exterior is rough and looks like a bad part of town, but it was across the street from the beach. The staff was sweet and very helpful.

The place has an awesome view of the ocean, great customer service, but the room I stayed in 310 three bed two bedroom was awful, bathroom full of mold, nobs in the tub not matching and not fully repaired the sills on the windows and roll open closet awfully ugly nothing to do with the pictures online total miss, I paid 670usd for three nights and I must say not worth the penny. But Awesome views to the beach.

We must have been in a different hotel than these other reviewers. The great location did not make up for the seediest rooms I have ever been in. Blood stained carpets, chipped peeling paint, this thing is beyond fixed upper. Our friends had cockroaches in their rooms so we immediately checked out. I am not making this up. The staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful and friendly. Bulldoze this and let the beach take it.

Avoid this place like COVID-19, unless the only thing you care about is being near the coast. The service here by the front desk is abysmal, the place is an absolute dump, and the area around the hotel is disgusting, rundown and unsafe. The front desk staff have zero professionalism and could care less about providing service. The rooms are dilapidated with cracked floors, cracked sinks, busted doors, missing towel racks & toilet paper holders, dirty carpet, unpainted walls, etc.. The exterior of this place is extremely old and not maintained, not to mention that it is directly across the street from a homeless encampment. Do not stay here!

THIS IS NOT A SAFE HOTEL. SCANDALOUS I DOUBT THE HOTEL IS UP TO SAFETY STANDARDS WITHOUT SCREENS ON THEIR WINDOWS, BROKEN THERMOSTATS, FLICKERING LAMPS. This hotel was booked for the wrong night through a third party. Upon paying directly for the right night and checking in, our room has been broken into before we got there. The window didn't have a screen. It had fingerprints from being pulled open and closed and was propped open with the curtain opened. Upon more inspection of the room, we found the bathroom, towels, and sink had been used. The intruder also left behind their deoterant. This hotel gave us a refund for the night we paid them for directly. As for the night, that was a booking error, they refuse to give us a refund after letting them know we didn't feel safe. The pictures posted online are nothing like what the rooms look like. They're old, plain, didn't look clean... there was a random guy sitting on the stairs right outside the window that didn't feel like it was safely shut, talking loudly on the phone. I received an email 3 hours ago that I supposedly checked in, WHEN I DIDN'T. Here I am sitting in Sacramento, while this motel lied about me checking in.. VERY SCANDALOUS!

Stayed for at least ten days if not more, and the only negative about this Roadway is the location and how far it is from downtown. They are definitely the most affordable motel that is "actually decent enough to stay in" (ie. safe, relatively quiet, private rooms that are not gross or falling apart, staff is respectful, etc.) Great prices epecially when it comes to suites & multiple room rates. Because of rates I wasn't going in with high expectations, but was overall happy with our stay and recommend if you're traveling on a budget.

The Pros, the guy at the counter was understanding when we showed up and canceled our reservation. The Cons, the outside of the property looks nothing like the photos, the building is in need of repairs, you can see that some of the rooms are being used for storage and just dirty everywhere, the worst part is that right across the street less than 100ft the street is lined up with homeless people in their vehicles, it appears that some of the homeless people might be staying at the hotel. You get a feeling of insecurity and if you have children you fear for their safety. When you go to the registration office and there's safety glass between you and the person your talking to there's room for concern. You definitely want to think twice before staying here. We didn't even want to see the rooms once we saw outside.

If you've ever wondered how someone can find luxury without breaking the bank, ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ is the answer. Trust me, I just got this room at a fraction of the usual price. We started coming yo this hotel about 5 years ago We wanted something near the beach yet still centralized between San Francisco and. Daly City. The room was very comfortable. Everything very clean. The associates at the front desk remembered us from each visit. Stay at this hotel twice a year when we do come to California. Friendly staff able to answer our sometimes ridiculous questions. Rooms always have plenty of towels and are gladly given additional when requested. We will keep returning to this hotel. Great stay. Great location. Great staff. Rebecca

RUN AWAY from this place!! Parking is terrible, rooms are old and disgusting. Lights switch was connected to the lamp & tv. 1 deadbolt lock. bathroom fan/light made a horrible noise. We refused to shower because it was gross. Toliet took a good 5 minutes to fill to flush again. Do NOT stay here because of location, find a better hotel. Lots of homeless live on the street next to the hotel. I did think the bed/sheets were clean-that was the only positive. Again believe only the bad reviews, spend more $ and have better piece of mine. Choice Hotels needs to drop this place.

Booked online for 1 night.. Arrived to find an old outdated place with the homeless just outside the door. Broken glass and trash littered the sidewalk and parking. The man at the reception was very unfriendly and rude. He asked for my identification and credit card which I found strange because I had paid online. The room was smelly and moldy. No towels, soap, toilet paper or anything. The TV didn't work.. I left early the next morning.. When I checked my credit card statement I noticed an additional charge coming from the hotel and not from the online 3rd party (Agoda). I called Agoda and they said that they only charged the room price and the additional charge is not from them. I called the hotel to be received by the same voice I had met when I checked in and the same rudeness. He said that Agoda charged the additional and when I pointed out that it's a charge coming straight from the hotel, he then claimed its a charge that is for staying at the hotel ..I asked for management and he offered an email and refused a phone number. I contact my credit card company and disputed the charge. I was suspicious when I checked in.. Check your credit card bills!!! Better yet, STAY AWAY FROM THIS OLD SMELLY BROKEN DOWN PLACE...you won't feel safe there...

This was a huge disappointment... The room was nasty ... There were no screens on the windows and it smelt mildewy. I can't believe they let customers stay in rooms like this. My mind is blown. Only thing good about it is it was kinda cheap for San Francisco and it's right on the beach. U might be better off camping tho.

The check in guy was peculiar In a funny way. The rooms were very clean and spacious. There were homeless people outside but they kept to themselves and there are homeless all over the city. The beach was across the street and was marvelous. Bring a towel and a sweater bc it was cold in July outside and we were short a towel in our room. I guess we could’ve requested one but we did not lol. The breakfast is just coffee so plan accordingly. Very comfortable nights sleep.

Please listen to the reviews. The lady at the front desk was as nice as she can be. It the quality of the hotel itself and the rooms is unbelievable. A weird smell when you enter, which makes me uncomfortable already. The couch was broken falling in in the middle, ripped, and stained. The bed was falling in. Dirt on the walls. Rust everywhere. Hard water stains. I didn’t read the review in time and we decided to test it anyway because sometimes people can be cruel. No they were all accurate! The homeless across the way yelling. We checked in and checked right back out.

Super nice staff that really take care of your needs during your stay. Really love how they make sure to call you in your room to see if a guest is welcome up first too. Made me feel so much more comfortable and safe! Overall beautiful room & excellent stay! Would definitely recommend! 😇😁

The room was clean and I got a good night’s sleep. It’s pretty shabby. It could use some renovating such as a bathroom for that closes, a drain that drains, repair the pry marks on the door. The neighborhood it’s in is sketchy too. All that said, we survived and moved on. Good room prices.

Lowest price and near the beach 🏖, no hair dryer in the room, need to ask them to get it. Everything is old, but still working! The bad thing about here: It doesn’t have hair conditioner provide!!! Only have soap and (mini) shampoo! Not enough parking! If you want to stay for few nights, it still a great choice!

There’s a homeless camp right across the street and mice running around my room. The location is kinda nice - it’s next to the beach and near Golden Gate Park - but I don’t think that makes up for feeing unsafe and having rodents running around your room. This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at

Second day they put a hold on my card for another $50 and when questioned they said it was a deposit. We had already paid for a deposit when we paid for the room. Then they say it must be a mischarge and will go back within 7 days. Next day we were supposed to check out and thought we had another day, went out and about. When we came back our doors were locked so we went and asked to get our stuff out. They told my husband it would be $100 to get our stuff back or we would have to pay $150 for another night because they don't have anymore housekeepers there to let us in. We all went down and questioned everything then she said we won't be charged and they do have a housekeeper to let us in to get our stuff.we pack up and leave. As soon as we leave they put another hold on my card for $1.43 and then change the $50 to $45. The next day they take off the $1 charge off and change the $45 to $95 and push it through but don't push through the room charge? This hotel is very shiesty. I don't know how your system "accidentally" charges people for another security deposit.

If there was a 0/5 option that would be it Wow where do I start , so all these 5/5 must be fake there is no way . Please don't go here it's is nasty , unsafe and don't give them credit card. This is the only place I used and a bunch of charges that was not mine appeared. Reasons not to stay 1) unsafe 2) disgusting dirty, we were lick we had sleeping g bags 3) broken stuff , called the front desk and they hung up . We were to scared to go out since there was loud arguments outside.4)Noisy late into the night and wee hours lots of drinks going up and down stairs 5)we thought we could not afford the more expensive place in hindsight it would have been with it to feel safe and get some sleep. As soon as it was quiet enough we ran to car and left. It was a nightmare experience

If it's a room next to ocean beach then 10/10 if it's a room near java cafe then 9/10 if it's a room next to n line terminus then it's 9/10 yes it had a bed yes it had a bathroom BUT would I book here again NO . Why ? This is just a normal SF hotel with a bit of a low level feel at check in /out no drink facilities in the room Now read other reviews ! And they are correct The location is superb. Next to the windmill. Next to the beach. On the street out front there are many 'motorhomes' but if walking use the parallel st behind. And take in the greenhouse ! If someone spent some £ updating the rooms this could be the 'place to stay in San Francisco!

I’m coming back! There cannot be enough said about the style and hospitality of our hosts. They went out of their way to help us feel welcomed and comfortable. The bungalow was among the best of its class. It has all the luxurious amenities (including a washer & dryer) to keep you self-sufficient. There’s plenty of room to sleep 7 guests. Among the finest of luxuries is the tranquility this bungalow provides. The spacious yet secluded and private backyard is perfect for barbecues, sun bathing or just sitting in the shade while reading a good book. The beach is a stone’s throw away where you’re greeted by the world’s happiest dogs. And, if you feel like a treating yourself to exquisite cuisine for an incredible price, you’ll certainly find it within walking distance just down the road. Rodeway Inn is the first bungalow that we’ve stayed in and thanks to impeccable service and unmatched generosity from our hosts, we had the time of our lives!

At 12 AM this random lady came knowing to our room with a flashlight demanding for us to open the door, she was so rude, we did. It open the door because she did not say who she was she just said open the door, like can’t she say she’s from front desk or something what type of customer service is this, she needs to be trained on how to properly know doors and on how to announce herself, like she really expects for someone to open the door at 12 am with her knocking with a bright flashlight and saying open the door she is wrong.

The women working the office are super friendly, but the man working later in the day/evening was ridiculously RUDE. The exterior of the property (the stairs, etc.) are filthy; fortunately our room was clean. However, we had NO toilet paper and when I called the office, the man said to come and get it.

Definitely not what the pictures show. The rooms have a musty smell, We had to change rooms because the first one smelled so bad. Under the fridge, the wood was rotting. They do not change sheets, bring new towels, or take the trash. They charge you a daily cleaning fee but what cleaning was done? I walked around for a total of five minutes max with no shoes and my feet had dirt and hair all over them. We had to buy air fresheners to make it smell somewhat decent and that was after we had the windows open to air the place out. The walls and shower were dirty. Some of the outlets were not working. The paint was peeling and the walls had holes. Some fist size. You can see marks all over the walls. Our first room had nats everywhere. The thermostat did not work so it was freezing in our room. And it was just musty and everything felt wet like our clothes and the food we had. My sons cookies and chips he had became soft from how much moisture was in there. They just give you a fleece blanket between 2 sheets. The first lady I booked with was nice but the guy I talked to to change the room seemed like he hated his job. I’m not picky or a neat freak but this place was way below standards. You have a lot of homeless staying on that street and some of them living in broken down cars. My almost adult daughter who grew up in New York almost refused to sleep there. She wanted to sleep in the car but we talked her out of it. The only parking lot they have hold like 20-25 cars for a 3 story place. Good luck finding parking. You did have a somewhat good view of the beach from the third floor because you have a hill blocking the view from the other floors. It’s also near a large park so I guess that’s a plus. Also their “breakfast” is just coffee. I’ll give it a star for location ish and okay wifi. But that’s pushing it

I’m actually a frequent visitor of this hotel, once or twice a year. I must say, I come back for nostalgia(I have good memories here) NOT BECAUSE it’s even a decent place to stay. It’s dirty and run down and smells of mold. After years and years of visiting, I’m done. Manager placed sneaky small charges on my credit card for “fees” that I already paid upon reserving the hotel. Corporate is of no help either. So I won’t be staying at choice hotels again.

  • 1/5 Sabrina G. 1 year ago on Google
Very outdated. Carpets are beyond ready for replacement. Will turn your feet pitch black. The beds are extremely old. We got a suite, room 308, our bed in the room was like sleeping on plywood. You could feel the springs in the other mattresses. Such low water pressure I had to lay in the tub and put my head under the faucet in order to wash my hair. No A/C but it stays pretty cold in the morning and night so opening a window does just fine. Totally recommend house shoes or keep shoes on. Also, a personal fan is highly recommended for air circulation. This place would be awesome if it was cleaned a little better and updated. Honestly makes you feel like your catch Hep C or something haha. Wasn't too bad for 3 nights though. They serve coffee for free but it's trash. There is a homeless guy that lives outside the hotel but he stays to himself. Didn't bother us not one time. Guy at the front desk was pretty chill and friendly.
