Overall not bad at all especially for the price! But the Tikka Masala was a bit lacking in flavor. I thought it was very plain so I couldn’t enjoy it. The lamb biryani was absolutely delicious and I totally recommend it. Also the naan is HUGE so I suggest 1 naan for 2 people. The restaurant inside was a little dirty and the utensils weren’t fully clean. But I would totally come again to eat the food!

Brilliant food and lightning quick service. They have aced service system and are very efficient even during peak hours. You hardly have to wait 7-10 mins after ordering. Tandoori items and chicken curries are sumptuous. Plenty of vegetarian options and they are truly mouth watering.

Went to Pakwan in SF on a Friday evening with some friends for dinner, and overall it was a solid experience. There was quite of a bit of a wait time after placing my order - over 30 minutes and the restaurant wasn't even fully packed (but still had a lot of takeout orders). The food here is amazing - I got a garlic naan and a regular naan with paneer makhani, heaven on earth! Had chai after which was pretty good too. Very affordable too - with a 15% tip still spent less than $17 for this entire meal! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side (but they do have outdoor seating too) and the bathrooms aren't the cleanest, but if you're coming for the flavorful Indian / Pakistani food and don't mind the wait, it's definitely worth a shot!

Freshly made Naam bread! They make it when you order it! The food was delicious and authentic. We ordered the lamb, beef and a chicken dish. For dessert we had the rice pudding and the sweet dumplings. There were plenty of take out orders! It was impressive to see them in action. Having freshly made garlic Naam bread was such a treat!

Amazing food!! Portions are very decent size for the price. I love the tandoori grill items, very tender.

Great food! Naan was super fresh and portions were large. Was a bit pricier that I was expecting but definitely had food leftover!

Coming from Dubai where Pakistani food is thriving I had high expectations! They were all met! Pakwan offers authentic and fragrant dishes that are just mouthwatering. Dishes are spiced to perfection and accompanied with fresh garnish. Great place to go with friends and share different food.

Good food, naan was really good, the baigan bharta was different but tasty. Was hesitant to use the Restrooms but was really surprised and impressed by their cleanliness Would definitely go and recommend Pakwan for a traditional Pakistan halal meal

Ordered Garlic naan, nihaari and chicken tikka leg. Great outdoor sitting environment with the outdoor heaters. Customer service was on point. Was served by Nawaz khan he is an asset to the business. Garlic naan was very good. Nihaari was good. Chicken tikka leg was lacing flavor and too greasy. Needs improvement

Visited this place on a Saturday night. Service was quick. Tandoori chicken was good. Chicken Biryani was okay, not quite what we expected. Paneer curry had mixed veggies in it and was very basic unlike the regular ones. Ordered Chicken Tikka wrap which had really big chunks of chicken. Prices for the dishes were quite less for a restaurant in SF.

I ordered a vegetarian Biryani— the quantity was huge as you can see, it was okay tasty— the only veggies were potato and cauliflower.

Good food, in fact, the most authentic desi cuisine I've had in the US so far. They didn't have chai, which was a bummer, but the samosas with the imli chutney and chole were too good. The kadhai chicken was also good, and the spices weren't mellowed down. Finally ended the beautiful lunch with some kheer, which was yummy too! Only downside of the place is they can do way better with the decor! PS: the prices were very pocket-friendly!

Came across this place somewhat by accident on a trip earlier this year. Ended up eating their twice that week. First thing we did on our second drip was figure out how to get back over there. Phenomenal food.

Place can get rowdy because of all the bars nearby but the food is top notch. They don't have alcohol, but you can easily sneak in your own from the corner store across the street. Paalak paneer was great.

Best Pakistani food I had ever. Quality is consistent every time. So far, I have tried lamb curry, chicken biryani, garlic nann, samosas, chicken curry, and tandoori fish. *chef's kiss.* So good

The food here is very delicious. My first time having Pakistani food and they didn't disappoint. Their samosas were fresh and crispy. The lamb curry was cooked to the point where the meat would just melt in the mouth.

Good halal option in San Francisco, not too far from the touristy spots. There is plenty of street parking, and the place has ample dine in space. Service was relatively fast, prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious.

Came here on a weekday night and there was no line but you go up to order! Good: - The food was amazing! The chicken tikka masala was really good and huge portion sizes. - Fast service - our food came out relatively quickly and really warm Bad: - Seating was outside near a super busy street, so we'd get interrupted by the sound of a blaring car horn Overall it was a good experience and it was super nice to have a lot of food after a workout class!

I ve beeen going to Pakwan since 2012. I love this rustic hip place .. i am a Indian American man and love food from India/Pakistan region.. the taste / aroma / consistency of the food is very important for me to enjoy goodness from my motherland.. the taste of these dishes are far superior than other restaurants. This is a great spot for vegetarians. I keep going back and back again .. i moved back to San Francisco after 6 years and yesterday i got to enjoy a beautiful lunch with a foodie friend. Will be back and keepup the great work. 🌺🙏🏽

OVERALL: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 (Self Service) Ambiance: 5/5 Please note that this is a casual self-service spot. You order at the counter, take a number and wait for your number to be called to pick up the food. The busboy will clean your table after. They were pretty efficient with it. We had… - Beef Seekh Kebab - Delicious!! Steaming hot, moist and spicy. - Aloo Naan - Flatbread filled with w thick layer of potatoes - Keema Naan - Flatbread filled with spicy group beef (this could have had more beef) - Vegetable Samosas - This was the weakest dish. Be sure to get the cilantro and tamarind chutneys from the self-service fridge and ask them for fresh sliced onions and Jalapeños. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The best seekh kebab I have had in the city since a long long time. Plus - This did not break the bank. 10-9-2023 - Dinner - Table for 2

WOW WOW WOW! Visiting from San Diego I wandered by this restaurant and saw a very attractive man wolfing down whatever was on his plate. I asked him what was so delicious and he said the Chicken Tikki Masala. I am usually not a fan of Chicken Tikki Masala as it’s a very tricky dish to perfectly balance all the spices. I was hungry after my flight so I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala sans rice and got the plain Naan bread instead. When my order was ready I sat down and got to work enjoying this mysterious dish. Once I sampled the sauce with my spoon I was HOOKED! A beautiful array of very mild yet powerful spices blended masterfully with a savory base. This tastes like HEAVEN!! And the Naan bread was so rich and buttery. I am so glad I skipped the rice and got the Naan, it is that good! So if you are in the mood for excellence in world cuisine stop here!

Excellent food. My friend and I had the Aloo Mutter and chicken tikka masala along with rice and garlic naan. Everything was delicious. Cooked to order food so it’s a wait but totally worth it. The prices are also reasonable
