The view stunning I’d say makes this place all the more enjoyable. The theme of the restaurant is everywhere if you loved the film then chances are you’ll love this restaurant. The food was acceptable for what it was and while the price is what it is given the location. After the meal plenty to do around the pier!

The food was delicious and priced better than we expected. Take the Glass drinks were hard to resist chugging. And... Who could ask for a better view??? The service was quick and friendly, seating was immediate upon arrival around 5 pm. I highly recommend getting the entire experience of dinner at Bubba Gump and a walk on Pier 39!

After visiting a few restaurants of this chain here’s the turn to San Francisco, we’ve a very good dinner there, this restaurant has a superb views to the bay and the see food was delicious. I went for dinner and unfortunately that night was a bit cooler than normal in San Francisco so a I had to wear my coat duren the whole dinner because the fan was on, we asked the server to turn it off which she said she couldn’t help with that. Despite that inconvenient the experience was great !!

Very cute place! Decor is all forest gump which is a given/must! Really cool and they do have merchandise ! Seafood is all delicious. Chicken tenders are little bite chickens not super crunch long tenders just a heads up. Fried calamari is delicious the salmon was good. Unfortunately our appetizers didn’t come until after dinner and our soup didn’t come till after we asked. Server was really kind but just seemed to be a little all over the place. Bathrooms are clean here too !

Couple of minutes wait to be seated. Friendly, attentive and cheerful waitress. Fast service on the food. I ordered mama's fried chicken. Now, for me, when it said fried chicken, I expected it to b crispy fried chicken regardless what part of the chicken. I was not happy. It came as nugget type white meat ( probably chicken breast). And not even crispy nor breaded at all. Chicken nuggets from McDonald is better. And the fries that came with it, also not crispy, It came with a small portion of cole slaw, that's bland. So yea, I'm disappointed on that order, but I still ate it. Then my hubby ordered that LT Dan's surf & turf. That one is not bad. And not a WOW too. It's good enough. Ribs are tender, mild on the bbq sauce, but there's a side sauce for it. The shrimps are tasty. So this one is not disappointing. Then we had a bowl of the clam chowder. This one tasted real good. A+ on this, only thing is that it's not chunky enough for me. But, tasted yummy. Then lastly, we had that half a pound Cajun shrimper's net catch. Simple, Average. Good enough. Shrimps are just cooked right. Was not over cooked. It was a delight. Over all, the costumer service was great. Food - are above average. Am I going to come back again?.. Yup, definitely!

Although it was a bit cold outside the atmosphere was beautiful. The core of the restaurant was a great tribute to the movie Forest Gump with the newspaper, menu items, and table references. The meals were great portion sizes and the drinks were refreshing. This restaurant had more than just shrimp and could satisfy any bodies appetite.

Love the restaurant decors! The views are absolutely amazing! You can request for a table by the windows! Our server was nice and bubbly! Thank you for your service! The food was good. I ordered jambalaya extra spicy. I didn't taste much spice. But it was good! My uncle had ordered gumbo & his order came out a tad bit cold. Luckily, the server was right by us before taking another party's order. She was quick enough to solve the problem. (Probably warmed up his order in a microwave because it came back steaming) My cousin ordered steak and she was happy with her order! The kids ordered their kid meals & had fun with the paper boats it came in. Cute! Run, Forest! Run!

Went for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday and had a great time! The wait was about 15-20min; you get a text when it's time and can explore as you wait. We got a table over looking the water and could see a sea lion in the distance! We had the clam chowder bowl, large fish and chips, and a side of onion rings, all of which was incredibly tasty. The clam chowder had just the right amount of clam; the fish and chips were tender and well portioned. It was a lovely experience!

The place is quite nice, lots of Forest Gump decorations!! Drinks are a little bit over priced but I guess normal for the area. We order a combination of shrimps that had fried, tempura and coconut they where all very good! I would definitely suggest going to a non-franchise restaurant if visiting San Francisco but overall our experience here was. If you want to get sitter faster ask for sitting at the bar, they have full service and the bar tender was super nice ☺️

Very good meal with friendly service and great view over the bay. Sadly they seem to be toning down the Forrest Gump experience but daughter wouldn't have got it as not quite old enough to watch it yet. Seafood and rice dishes offer good alternative to the creamy/fried foods at most other restaurants on the pier.

Since I'm a big Forrest Gump fan, I had to come here. And I was not disappointed! Food - great! I had shrimp cocktail and jambalaya. Service - very friendly, fast and courteous! Ambiance - many props from the movie are here, very authentic. However, it is a bit noisy here. Still, I highly recommend it!

Bubba Gump Shrimp is always a good place to eat at. I’ve been here several times and have always had a wonderful experience each time. I love the overall atmosphere and culture. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The food always comes out excellent and delicious. It’s my favorite spot on pier 39. I definitely recommend and will be back. Thank you!

I love Bubba Gump! What’s nice about this location is most of their seating is overlooking the bay. What a great way to eat some seafood while looking at the sea! The restaurant is located at the back of the pier on the second floor. There are so many signs I walked right past it the first time. Just go to the back and look up and there it is. The greeter was cheerful and guided me to the seating line. I was sat quickly at a great table looking at Alcatraz. The Server was friendly and explained the sign system; I already knew it bet let them go through it. I got the Shrimp Cocktail and Salmon. Both were very good and cooked perfectly. The Server brought the check and I was able to pay quickly. There is a service fee added to the bill which I think is a CA thing so I made sure my tip and service fee totaled my typical 20% top. Overall, a good place for those of us who like casual dining chains. Also, I want to say that I was in San Francisco for two weeks and never once did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Coming from out of town all I heard on the media is how bad San Francisco is, but I thought this was a great trip and I’ll be back! Thanks for listening and travel safe everyone.

I really enjoyed my food. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The crab and shrimp were very moist and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place for some good seafood. The restrooms were clean, given the high traffic. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Great food and great decor. Definitely if your a Forrest Gump fan. If you never been here before here's a tip, there's a stand with 2 license plates, blue and red. When you are ready to order, need refill, or anything else. Flip to red. When done flip to blue.

I recently dined at the Bubba Gump restaurant in San Francisco, and while the atmosphere was inviting with its coastal charm and themed decor, my overall experience left much to be desired. The service was a major letdown, which was surprising for a renowned chain. I found myself repeatedly having to request water, and worse, I missed out on a meal entirely. The staff seemed more focused on rearranging furniture than attending to their customers, and my drink orders were often overlooked. This lackluster service greatly overshadowed the otherwise enjoyable setting, making it a disappointing dining experience at Bubba Gump.

It's always one of my favorite restaurants and if you like shrimps it's a very good choice. The location is great with a wonderful view on Alcatraz island and the bay. Reservation is required, do it at least two hours in advance (it's their policy). Free wi-fi is pretty fast and very appreciate (simply ask for the password).

I went to the restaurant twice (first and last day in San Fran), the people here just awesome, passionate about their craft and genuinely serves you with their heart. I personally prefer their grilled selections compared to their fried stuff and I recommend you try both to give your own take! Especially love the grilled shrimps!

I guess you go to bubba gump to get the Forrest gump experience. So on that count and the views of the bay, the premium is justified. The food is also not the most amazing but it's good. The fried things were quite greasy and the cocktails a bit watered down. But good service, fresh ingredients and good views of the bay. Can go once for sure!

We reached there at 6 and was told that we have to wait for 15 - 20 minutes which were fine. As we are not local, I wasn’t sure if I have received any sms, we went back at 6:20 and asked if our number was called. The staff was not friendly and said that we have to wait for 30min. I asked him was it another 30 min or another 10min. He said 30. I expressed my shock and told him, that was not mentioned to me that we would have to wait for 50min. After which he said, it’s ok, u can go in now. 🤔 The restaurant wasn’t full. And he changed his mind really quick. We were shown the table and was not served til much late. Our food also came real slow. Our chiller came without straws. (This is not a straw less restaurant as I saw water being served with straws). When making payment, again I have to wait for ages before the server took my card. The amount charged was a dollar more then what I have indicated. I didn’t pursue as I didn’t wanna wait anymore. Food wasn’t fantastic and service was worst. Won’t be back here.

Such a fantastic location!! If you can walk all the way to the end of Pier 39, and can get a seat, you will be rewarded handsomely with an amazing view for a price that's reasonable on food and drinks. It was sunny and pretty cool and windy the day we were there, and Bubba Gumps is all enclosed with indoor seating...which I was super grateful for. Good food and even better views! We didn't even have a table closest to the windows, and it was still a fantastic view and a great place to spend our lunch time!

The menu isn’t as big as I remember but the food is still delicious. It was a pretty busy day and we were seated within 15 minutes all the servers were nice and we had a great view of the water looking out to Alcatraz. Great way to spend a Saturday night

Overall : fantastic location and view watching the sunset last night over the 3 bridges. Great selection of food too. However the three first members of the staff we interacted with were patently uninterested in serving us. The chap at the front door desk, barely talked to us in the most nonchalant way, the two ladies in charge of placing us were not talking either and the third one placed us on a filthy table and chairs. We asked her to clean up which she did with a dripping mop and left. We then took upon us to grab paper towel and do clean up the leftover, very wet, mess. Up to this point, if we had not been we people we had invited, we would have left. Most people would have. then a fourth waitress arrived and saw this, and was rightly shocked. She then took great car of us. She later told us she’s from Ireland working to pay for her studies. She got the tip. It is a shame we need to rely on talented workforce from abroad to make up for US workers. This is not something unique in this restaurant, it is a nationwide issue, but it was particularly the case here. Anyhow, great experience overall thanks to the great location but the manager needs to check on his team to get a 5th star.
