The taste is good and the price is fair, but we waited for a very long time to get what we ordered. Not many Beijing dishes on the menu, more like Sichuan flavour. If you want a Peking duck, remember to call them to order one day ahead.

Very cute modern restaurant with an ambiance, nice tableware and good service. We ordered Basil eggplant with chicken and shrimps and Sechuan Lohan with meatless chicken and brown rice. Everything was top notch! So definitely recommend this place and I need to come check their famous Roasted duck👌🏻

Great food, super fast & attentive service, laid-back atmosphere. We love YH Beijing for takeout and it exceeded expectations as an in-person dining experience.

Delicious orange chicken! Great chow mien. They also have great dumplings - highly recommend the chili oil dumplings. I also had a side of the chili oil to put on my chow mien which made it spicy and delicious! The restaurant is clean and looks like it was recently remodeled. All seats were filled. Highly recommend for a good dinner with good portions for a good price. Also great take out!

What a nice, tasty addition to the neighborhood! Lower Haight is lucky to have a range of cuisines, from Thai and Japanese to Italian and Ethiopian, but it curiously lacked a solid Chinese spot. I am so glad YH Beijing opened up here. Two of my favorite dishes which we ordered were executed very competently here: beef pancakes and fish in hot chili oil. The beef pancakes were flavorful and crispy, and the fish was satisfyingly hot and spicy without being greasy. There are a number of my favorite dishes (xiao long bao, zazang noodles) on the menu also, along with meatless options that I am always happy to check out, so I am excited to come back and explore the menu. The restaurant looks fantastic after the recent remodel, and our server was absolutely wonderful and gave great recommendations. Give them a shot! UPDATE: Still as delicious as ever! They have updated their menu, but the mainstays are still there and still delicious, though we mourn the loss of the beef pan fried bao (unfortunately it's now pork). The mala chicken and songshu fish fillet are both fantastic chef's specials, and the fried tofu is a nice, crunchy appetizer. I tried the xiao long bao trío and really enjoyed all of them. The mala XLB were definitely an interesting and delicious twist, but the original pork remain my favorites.

Wow, everything we ordered was DELICIOUS! The chili oil dumplings, orange chicken, combination chow mein (forgot to photograph)...EVERYTHING was good. Will most definitely be back! Service was quick and outstanding as well.

This was a great restaurant experience. We came for the Peking duck which you need to call and place an order the day before. It comes with four courses, including peking duck crêpes, duck soup, and lettuce cups. We also got a hot and sour soup for the table to share, but we probably didn’t need it. The duck set meal was more than enough for three people. We all left extremely satisfied pretty good price for what you get. The interior is quaint and the staff are nice.

The food is good, but should be priced about 1/3 less across the board. They also used to have lunch menu options, however that seems to be gone and could explain why no one came in to eat during what should've been a busy lunch rush hour (12p - 1p). I ordered their dinner portion plate of Ma La Chicken ($23) and red chili oil dumplings ($9). The Ma La Chicken was solid, however having one of the greatest Szechuan places in the country back home in Atlanta has spoiled me with their dry fry spicy chicken which put's YH's offering to shame. That said, the chicken was juicy and the breading was much closer to American fried chicken than the light breading you see for this dish at other Szechuan spots. The main gripe I have is the price which is far too much for a bowl of fried chicken breast chunks. The dumplings were good, you could tell they were freshly made in-house and the oil concoction they were bathing in added a great depth of flavor. YH - if you see this, perhaps consider providing more entrée/lunch box options to make it easier to spend money with you during the work week.

Our favourite restaurant in San Francisco. When we were living abroad we often drooled at the thought of getting back to eat here. So underrated! The food is consistently amazing. We always order green onion pancakes, pork dumplings, sesame chicken & orange chicken. Cocktails and beer are also SO good. 🍹 Shout out to Tiffany for having amazing customer service - such a kind person!🌟

This used to be great. Now it's extremely over priced, the portions are Tiny. I had Mongolian beef entree which had very little beef and was mostly red, white, and green onions. I was still hungry. The large plates switched to salad size plates, no more lunch special, slow service in an empty restraunt. Not sure if they will survive. The remodel is pretty.....

such tasty Chinese food! A bit pricey, but some highlights are vegetarian chow fun, general gaos chicken, scallion pancakes, and vegetarian dumplings! Their spicy eggplant doesn’t quite hit the spot, a bit too sweet for my taste. They’re also always nice on the phone and in person :)

The roast duck needs to be ordered a dan in advance. It comes with pancake wrappers (which I prefer to the bap bread) scallions, cucumbers, hosin, plum sauce and sugar. The container is great as there is warm water under the wrappers to keep them warm and soft to separate. Likewise the duck is precut so no bones to contend with, and kept warm and crackling with a tealight. The soup that comes with the set is amazing, it was actually a highlight for me. The lettuce wraps are also nice and refreshingly light and tasty. Also the house special dry mala mushrooms and walnut shrimp were all delicious would definitely recommend this hidden gem!

The food is amazing!!! I just wish the one who served us had some hospitality experience or even draw a smile vs. a straight serious Face ☺️ She did it twice, on a Monday and Tuesday, we came twice. Please come here if you want to have a delicious west coast Chinese food!!

Really fresh and delicious Chinese food. I usually order out, but are inside last week. Lovely decor and the service was absolutely exceptional. Highly recommended!

I stopped by for lunch before noon. At first I was the only guest but eventually people trickled in. I liked the ambiance and Halloween decorations. I ordered the crab rangoons and sesame chicken (doesn’t come with rice). Both were good, but nothing mind blowing. I’ll be sure to try the dumplings and chow fun next time! Perhaps that’ll change my review.

Amazing food, decent price. Super rad atmosphere, cool plates and decor. I Had prawns, dumplings and the Beijing noodle. Way good.

Went with my friends and one of them absolutely hates this place bc it’s not ‘authentic’. While that’s true, I actually like the food and environment a lot. If you are going for authentic Chinese food this place is probably not for you but that aside, nothing wrong with this place and I will probably be going back for more One star off for the big party group size table. They should really use a Chinese style round table instead of the western style rectangular dining table. Sharing food on that thing with 9 people was such an hassle. I had to walk from one end to the other just to get the food I want. And it’s near impossible to talk to your friends on the other side of the table

Came here specifically to try the Peking duck 3 course meal as the pictures online made this dish look really good. You normally have to reserve the pecking duck one day in advance, but sometimes they have it available for same-day order. One of the better Peking ducks I've had in the way it's cooked and prepared. The feature that stood out above others is that they cut the duck in slices that are all fairly consistent and thin, which makes it much easier to eat especially in the wrap. The dock itself is cooked fairly well with fairly crispy skin and tenderness. They provide all the necessary accompaniment such as strips of green onion, cucumber and hoisin sauce (key ingredient). The second and third courses are also very good with the second course being shredded duck mixed with other ingredients such as mushrooms create lettuce bed and tastes pretty good. The third course is a soup that is a good compliment to the fatty meal as it's washes down and resets the palette. The service also friendly and average to above-average in attentiveness. The environment is also above-average as it is fairly clean with good decor and a relaxed environment. Other food items look good and will likely come back and try other things as well.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. Did a group dinner of 6 folk with the three course duck. Simply amazing. Duck course with about 5 sides left us all delightfully full. Would 100% recommend everyone try this place. Plus, the staff was super friendly and the restaurant was so cute.

If you are an American, you’ll enjoy this place pretty much. The price is decent as well. But if you are expecting authentic Chinese food — nothing close to it. Our group ordered more than 10 dishes, maybe 2-3 of them were okay-ish.

Overall good experience. Had to try the 3 course duck meal here. Ordered it a day in advance with a reservation. It was fine. Have had better duck. Quantity is a bit small and the duck skin could have been crispier. Really enjoyed the duck broth soup. The fried mushrooms was surprisingly a huge hit for our group. The sweet and sour fish was decent but a bit hard to pull apart. Clean, modern atmosphere. Would be happy to come back, but wouldn’t go out of my way to come.

We liked everything we had and loved some of it. We thought the food was pretty authentic. There were plenty of vegetarian options that were all very good and flavorful! If you want the beijing duck you’ll have to order a day in advance.
