This is a beautiful trail near SFO where you can get beautiful panoramic views of the bay as well the Golden Gate Bridge. The trail is fairly flat and is lined with trees most of the Rita mostly cypress or eucalyptus. In the open areas it gets windy, so be prepared. There is a big enough parking lot, but even that gets full and the parking sometimes overflow into the road. Overall it’s a very beautiful trail and one of the best places to view and photograph sunsets with the Golden gate as the backdrop.

I am beyond mesmerized!!! The view at this place especially coming there to see the sunset is just amazing. I recommend this place to anyone coming to SF! Very short drive from downtown or if you’re taking the transit, it drops you off within a very short walk. The view that you see is just unreal. Must check out!

Really enjoyed my time here. Great views all around. I enjoyed learning the history of the area and seeing all the artifacts they had. Walking the trails had alot of amazing and different views. It was hazy and cloudy, but we still had good views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Saw a few homeless people, and they had an officer posted up in the parking lot. If your in San Francisco, stop here and enjoy the views.

Great place to walk around and explore. The beach was right around the corner and parking was free. Just be mindful that we went in February and on a Monday afternoon. There is also street parking but depending on when you go it will fill up. The walk was great, free people, and great views. Highly recommend if you want to see the Pacific Ocean and to see ships enter and leave San Francisco!

With so many lookout points in and around the Golden Gate Bridge I’m glad we chose this one. While a lot of them are understandably crowded this one is more off the beaten path, and even though it was a weekend we only ran into 2 or 3 other people. It seemed to be more of a local favorite where people come to chill or meditate. We encountered someone doing an outdoor workout there with plenty of room and no one bothering her. It was a bit rough for us to find the trail entrance. Being from out of town the gps routed us to a hospital parking lot. We finally figured out that you have to walk through the golf course that is located next to the hospital in order to find the trail head. We didn’t mind and once we found it, it was well worth it. Hike is all up hill but it was short none the less. I was wearing flip flops and had to remove them because it was a bit rocky at spots, and sandy in other spots. Nature has been left to do its own thing on this little trail and it adds to the ambiance. The lookout point is serene and picturesque. I highly recommend this lookout point over some of the others we have been to.

My favorite place in San Francisco. The peace and beauty of this location is unexplainable. You can smell the grass, the ocean, and listen to the waves. Perfect place to bring wine + a friend or date for a nice chat and to watch the sunset. Probably one of the best sunset views in the whole Bay Area.

Interesting historic park with great views of the ocean and the city of San Francisco. The store has some interesting facts about the area as a public bath area. The walk down is fairly easy. The parking lot is large but there are warnings about not leaving valuables in view so take precautions. A fun visit and worth a trip.

The very first thing I noticed was all the fresh sea air. This is a very windy location as the Pacific Ocean is rushing into the bay. Great spot for some hikes with breathtaking scenery. And a great way to enjoy the past. This is a must stop and visit location when in the area. Take a short or longer hike. Plenty of free parking along the road. Hiking boots are recommended if you plan to explore down below since the hills are very loose. I could have spent all day here just enjoying the scenery.

Amazing view. When I went there was few people so I really enjoyed it. You can appreciate de Sutro Baths, the Golden Gate and it has multiple tracks that you can follow to have different view angles. Calm, beautiful and windy.

Lovely hike with a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was sunny when we arrived but fogged up as we left. Public restrooms and a darling gift shop & education center.

Lands end was extremely awesome. We wanted to explore more but the locals did warn us that many break Ins happen. We left our luggage in the car and they said sadly it was not safe to do that. There was also so much glass from the car break ins, but the view was breath taking.

If you ever want to hike and enjoy the water "Lands End" is the place to go. This is a very beautiful place and the scenery is just gorgeous. If you also want to get away from all the craziness that's going on in the world this is a place you must go. You will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite places in San Francisco. Parking is free and easy on weekdays. Clean restroom. Well maintained trails. Awesome flowers. Unfortunately, the famous restaurant Cliff House is closed due to the pandemic. It’s a must-go in San Francisco.

This place serene. We visited this place during weekend. It starts getting crowded about 10 in the morning. There are beautiful spots and the hike we took was about 7 miles. This trail is heavily trafficked though we could find a parking spot easily. You can view the Golden Gate Bridge from this trail and there are many rocky cliffs on the beach. A beautiful place to visit.

Honestly, such a gorgeous place and a really awesome visitors center. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly! We wanted to spend way more time here but sadly it is completely crime ridden. In sticking around and exploring, you’re taking a high risk chance of becoming a victim. When we drove in to park, we saw the signs for high potential “Smash and Grab” location. There was a police officer driving the lot but for wariness sake, we took our bags into the visitors center with us. 10 minutes later my husband noticed a white car peel out of the parking lot and scream down the street. We decided we shouldn’t linger any longer to enjoy walking the trails. Once outside, we saw the damage - a car at the end of the lot had had both passenger windows smashed in and all of their belongings taken. The police car was no longer in the area. Before we left the visitors center another patron mentioned “it’s a crime ring running the theft, staking out and notifying others when people leave their cars and when officers leave the area.” Super sad for such an incredible and historic area. It’s unfortunate that they haven’t or can’t implement 24 hour security. And, based off of the 1 star reviews, this has been an ongoing problem for years.

Amazing sights. Powerful energy. I would have loved to see this operational as a community pool. Originally there were 7 different temperature controlled pools for residents to enjoy. Now seeing what remains is still a magical experience. Land's End is great to explore for views of the ocean, San Francisco, and wildlife. The caves are fun to explore and there are numerous hiking trails.

Really cool place. The Lands End Lookout center has lots of information about the sutro baths. There are walking paths down to the baths, as well as many spots to stop and take photos.

One of the best trails on the north western corner of the most beautiful city in America! Lands end is a relatively moderate trail which gives you magnificent views of the mighty Pacific Ocean as well as the Golden Gate Bridge. Would recommend sparing 2-3 hours to complete the trail. Tip- Make sure you do not leave any valuable items in your vehicle while parking.

Absolutely gorgeous trail. One big hill was quite the challenge for a hiking newbie like me, but it was pretty short so not hard at all. Either way, the views were absolutely worth it. A few good places to sit and eat lunch and take in the view.

A very cool place to visit especially during sunset. Ruins of an old bathhouse, a cave and incredible views of the ocean. Fairly busy but nothing too bad. Quite a steep walk down to the ruins.

Such a nice 45 min hike to the lookout and back. You can see the golf course and golden gate bridge The lookout was particularly beautiful since you have a 180 view of the whole coast on a bright sunny day with blue skies. Although it was a Sunday, there weren't too many people. We went around 10am and was back in time for lunch Just be careful where you park! My friend who guided us told us there are many areas that get their car windows smashed. And you can see the glass all over the ground

Honestly was taken aback at the beautiful views during the day and sunset... literally in people's backyards. Perfect for all beachy activities and we saw a roller skating floor that was biking for a late night roller skating party. People were posted up asking the parking area and on the sand with their laptops and food on chairs or in their cars. A cool small cave and ruins were there. Saw a wedding photoshoot there. If you walk along the entire span you can get a great workout. It's also a hop, skip and a jump from the Golden State Bridge.

Great place for family outing. Majestic views of Pacific Ocean. Don’t miss checking out the historic Golden Gate Bridge. GG bridge glows during the sunset giving beautiful red shine on a clear day.

I've been quite a few places, lived on the gulf side of Florida for a while, and saw a lot of gorgeous sunsets. On God I can tell you that I have never seen such a beautiful one as I did at this Lookout. It's long since been known that Baker Beach is the spot in San Francisco for the sunset but this spot in particular, located just beyond it, is the one. You can spend quite a bit of time hiking up and down the area but wherever you go, if it's a clear day, you'll see a masterpiece. 5 stars

One of the most beautiful places in SF to visit! History combined with nature! Absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean, the Golden Gate bridge, and the Ocean Beach. The hike through the trails can be challenging with numerous steps going up and down, so be ready! Oh, and there is a small cave right next to the Sutro Baths ruins.

Land’s End is a very scenic area of San Francisco. I enjoy hiking from the lookout parking lot along the Lands End Trail to Eagles Point as well as hiking south along Ocean Beach into the west side of Golden Gate park. Along the Lands End Trail you can also get excellent views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Great starting point for exploring Sutro Baths site and the Lands Ends trails. There are clean restrooms and a gift shop adjacent to the parking lot. Good signage for all the sights and the trails.

Beautiful spot with access to an easy and rewarding hike via the coastal trail, with views of the Marin headlands, Baker beach and GG. Be sure to check out the Sutro baths and neighboring Ocean beach. If the main parking lot is full, parking isn’t too hard to find along the road or at OceN beach which is a 15ish min walk

❤️ Sunsets and this was an amazing place to view it. We lucked out that we had beautiful, clear weather in San Francisco when we arrived last month. Our hotel was walking distance to Lands End. “Lands End is the wildest, rockiest corner of SF with history of shipwrecks and landslides.” The oceanview was spectacular.

  • 5/5 Shivani A. 1 year ago on Google
Lands End trail is a go-to place to someone who is a beach person. The majestic view of the greens at one side and pacific ocean on the other spikes the energy level. The hike is a moderate hike with a comforting weather condition. One also gets a view of the Golden Gate bridge from Lands End Lookout.

  • 5/5 DEE M. 6 months ago on Google
I wasn't totally impressed but the view was beautiful. I became impressed when we started walking up the coastal hike....ended up at bakers beach then Marshalls beach then the golden gate lookout.....it's a high endurance trail but the payoff was so gratifying ....there's also I gift shop and bathrooms at lands end lookout 👍🏽🏖️❣️💯

Hard to find parking on a Saturday and the graffiti and stoner dj dance party detracted from the views

  • 5/5 Annaka J. 3 years ago on Google
This trail is not for the faint of heart. It covers some drastic elevation changes. The woods are mystical and astounding. There are large eucalyptus groves and windswept evergreens. The soft horn in the bay and views of the Golden Gate beside the ocean are the stuff of countless films and Television series. There are many landmarks to discover I would suggest getting a map. There is a labyrinth on the top of a cliff and old decaying structures below in the sand on the coastline.

  • 4/5 Brian W. 3 years ago on Google
Nice main defined trail, including a couple nice overlook areas over the entrance of the bay and different paths leading down to a small beach. One of the negatives though, was trying to find a parking spot initially. Each row had several cars waiting for anyone leaving and several cars just roving around trying to find open spaces. So, not the easiest. Once parked though, it didn't feel super crowded despite the packed parking lot (we went on a later Sunday afternoon). There was a steady stream of people early on, but by the time we left, around dinner time, there were several parking spots readily available. Would come back, just have to allow more patience and time to find a parking spot.

The area is stunning no matter when you visit. Each type of weather is beautiful for a different reason. It’s a great place to set off on a hike of any length! The Sutro Baths are just a short walk away, one of my favorite spots in the city. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are really clean and convenient. The gift shop is so cool! If you're a tourist do you have to stop by this place if there's any place you check out on the coast while you're here this is the place you want to go. I grew up in the city and even before it was a National Park, I've loved the area that is "Land's End." The natural beauty and constantly changing views of the Pacific are always breathtaking. Add to that the historical aspects of the area with the Golden Gate, Sutro Baths, China Beach, Veterans Hospital, the Legion of Honor, the Labyrinth, the USS San Francisco, and all of the other things I've forgotten, and you have a memorable experience. If I were to take someone to visit San Francisco who had never been and can only take them to one place, I would take them to Lands End. The only reason I do not give Lands End 5 stars is because of the changes that have come over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, much of the beauty of Lands End has now become overshadowed by prevalent graffiti, refuse along the trail, overflowing portable toilets, and vehicle break-ins. It is difficult to see the decline.

Really nice trail. Was a little more crowded than I expected but it was a really beautiful view. There is a good amount of flowers and berries on the trail which made it more of a scenic trail. There are some off trails so If you like doing that, I suggest wearing good hiking shoes because some spots were really steep. Overall, I would go again.
