Alright, the hotel is old and it could use a makeover, but the building itself is a “beautiful” brutalism monument. The pictures you see are for room 2024. The elevators are crazy fast, after launching they seem to skip half the floors in seconds. But back to the rooms: They’re somewhat spacious. More than enough for 2+ suitcases. The TV is large and new, aka “smart”. Other than that, it’s pretty standard Hilton experience! Nice staff! The only thing I didn’t like was that the body wash/ shampoo/conditioner brands did not match?! I’ve never seen this before. I mostly wanted to stay here because it was in the first Dirty Harry movie with Clint Eastwood.

Sadly, this hotel desperately needs a full top/down renovation. It is listed as a "four star", which may have been true in the 90s the last time it was renovated. Right now, it's dimly lit, and very dated. Bathrooms/carpets/most surfaces just seem dirty. My room the first morning when the lights came on had cockroaches scurrying around. Stepped on one, called the front desk to get a new room. Roach vanished, which had me packing up quickly. They weren't able to assign me a new room for some reason ("couldn't generate a key that early in the morning"). So I had to be escorted to the room and let in by security. Had to stop by the front desk later to get an actual key. The new room had a toilet handle that was broken (engineering at least came right up to fix it, but this shouldn't have been on me to discover). And a desk lamp that just didn't work, which wasn't great since the rooms are pretty dark to begin with. While searching for the outlet to see if the lamp could be plugged in elsewhere, I saw a ton of trash just underneath the desk/radiator. Didn't give me confidence the new room was bug-free, but I didn't see any more roaches after that. The staff was very apologetic and friendly, and the location is pretty great (love being near the food in Chinatown) but roaches in a hotel are just not acceptable. Until this property gets fully renovated, I won't be staying again.

The rooms were rather small. The only shining light at this hotel were the employees, they were all wonderful to my family. Juan at the Marketplace was great and very helpful. There is no pool. There was a room with a giant TV, but it did not work. There really wasn't an area in the lobby to sit and spend time in. My biggest concern with this hotel is how Hilton seems to be treating its Hilton Honors members. The executive lounge at this hotel is still closed due to "Covid", but most of the the employees weren't required to wear masks. We were given $18.00 dining credit for 2 people / day, but the breakfast ran $29.00 / person. I'm not sure how Hilton considers $80 for breakfast a family meal. Hilton Honors used to stand for something and helped to allow my family to travel more often. After this stay, I am not so loyal to Hilton anymore. Note the picture that I often see, is really a bridge and access is locked from Sunday - Tuesday. Although it looks rather accessible, its locked.

Almost perfect. First off I got to say the hotel was clean, water was hot and the bathrooms were clean. It’s in a great spot if you’re foodie as you’re in China town and there are lots of restaurants with great food. Really the only thing keeping this from a 5 star review is the parking. Yeah the parking it’s not included! You have to pay $45 for the whole day even if you park in their own building!!!! Yeah you’re saving $15 from otherwise having to pay the full $60 it costs but I was expecting that at least they would have complimentary parking.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Staff is friendly, great location to get to various parts of the city. Love the in and out parking. Makes it easy to come back to the hotel for lunch or what not. My only complaint is the windows. I had a great view of the bay, windows were dirty and a hazy. Overall I will always be staying her when work brings me back to San Francisco.

I loved this location! The view from my room was so cool, day & night. I could see Coit Tower right outside my window. Which, by the way is lit-up at night! Also a great view of the Bay, chock full of Sailboats & A huge USCG carrier. The building was clean , staff very helpful, & did I mention the view!?? I was very happy with my stay & will stay here again!

Check-in took a long time and staff was very rude. They have 4 elevators but they weren't functioning correctly. There was a line of people 20 deep when I arrived. Once on the elevator, it didn't accept the floors given to it and took us on a 5-minute ride before we finally arrived on our floor. The Hilton website declares this hotel as "Pet Friendly". Do they accept pets as guests? Yes, for a nonrefundable $50 deposit. But is it Pet "Friendly?" Not at all. They haven't so much as made a small green space for animals to use. You must walk across a busy street with your animal so they can relieve themselves. This is not convenient when you're on the 18th floor, let alone anything that can be considered "friendly." These issues would be an easy fix for a hotel that truly cares for its guests. Unfortunately, this is not the case at Hilton San Francisco Financial District.

Location is great your close to China town and little Italy. Parking is expensive $60.00/day and smells so bad of urine. After we checked in we asked for a mask while we go and buy our own pack. The host was very rude and said he had none. He just didn't want to check. I call and let the customer service know. Lauren helped us out with masks. Thanks. She was polite.

Gross! Really don't like sleeping on sheets with strangers' hair. The whole room wasn't well cleaned and windows are so dirty it is hard to see out them When I told the person working at the front desk they acted like it happens all the time. They were able to move me to another room that was a little cleaner but was on a lower floor and no one every apologized. Edit: Even after someone replying to this review and me asking the staff to give me clean sheets for this evening, I still have dirty sheets with strangers' hair all over them. 🤮

Pros: proximity to tourist spots in town. Good if you are on business stay for a night. Cons: the rooms are outdated. I travel with my own food because of dietary restrictions, this hotel has no microwave or refrigerator. Also there are no locks on the bathroom door which is fine if you are alone or traveling with spouse. But can become awkward with others. Saw a rat running in the hotel lobby. I wouldn't stay here again, the low price is due to the location only, doesn't include any in-room amenities.

Stayed here for 2 nights and the place was okay. I would like the mention the front desk people aren’t too approachable, they had some sort of attitude for no reason. The check in process was smooth though, we had no issues getting to and in our room. The view is really nice though, if you’re into city lights and all. The walls are super thin & I did not expect it to be peace & quiet since it’s a hotel but you can hear EVERYTHING. I’ve been to quite a few hotels and I don’t think I’ve ever been to one that doesn’t have a mini fridge & a microwave. There was a lounge with a microwave but it made it a bit inconvenient especially if you brought some food/snacks. The place has a gym which was cool. One thing I did not really like is that you have to pay for parking, 68$ PER NIGHT. If you’re there for more than 2 nights you can just imagine the bill for parking.. other than that it was ok.

Awesome location between China town and financial district couple few blocks of walking from train or street car. The rooms were clean, staff were friendly, with the Hilton app I was able to bypass the line at check in and check out using a digital key on my phone to access elevator and room. Everything was seamless and smooth. The bay view was awesome, you could see out to Alcatraz, and a bunch of the docs. There were many great restaurants close by and a little store less then a block away to buy bottled water at. I would definitely want to come back to this property for its location and accessibility from the airport.

Came here at short notice after a poor experience at another hotel, and had an excellent time. The room was very clean and roomy. TV was great. Lovely view of the city. Bed comfortable and big. Check-in and out was easy. Really handy luggage storage for those who need it - especially those with late flight to the Pacific.

My wife and I had a great time staying here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was great, especially with the bay view. Parking in their garage is pretty expensive, but it is San Francisco. The Pier is a fairly short walk, and the hotel is located right in Chinatown.

This was a great hotel experience, centrally located by downtown, China Town, and the start of North Beach. My only complaint is a lack of dining facilities in the hotel. At this price the hotel itself should have much better dining options. But this is trend nation wide, unfortunately. And I still give it 5 stars. The staff are great. Also the mustached gentleman at the bellhop desk is like an old world rockstar. He truly gives exemplary service of a nature mostly lost in today's world.

This hotel is right in the heart of China town. Rooms are nice, but older coffee single serve. There is not a refrigerator and parking us $62 a night with tax. No complimentary breakfast or coffee. I bought two of the larger size (16oz?) In the lobby for $9.50. These were just house coffees pumped out of a carafe. So be prepared to pay for every little extra. If you are on a high floor, be prepared for many elevator stops and full rides. If you want to be in the heart of Chinatown, perfect spot.

This is the spot for tourists! It’s so close to everything you would want to see. Came for three nights and loved the accommodations. The room was great, the view perfect, and no noise issues. However, we were not next to the elevator, we were all the way down the hall. Added pictures from our bay view room on floor 15. Shout out to Gemina at the front desk!

Hotel location was convenient, but other than that this hotel is a mess we got placed in a “refurbished” deluxe city view room, first off the windows are so dirty you can’t even see the view. The light fixture in the bathroom completely fell off making a mess, when we called the front desk they said they would send maintenance up, which they never did. Upon leaving I reminded them that the light fixture was still dangling off the ceiling to which she just brushed me off and said they’d fix it. Front receptionists need to work on their attitude not a good look.

If I may praise the hotel for something, it's got quite a pretty view from the upper floors. I stayed on floor 26, which is labeled the "executive floor", which would be nice and all of it was not for the fact that I've had better amenities from the cheapest of the cheap hotels/motels. The bathroom floor was dirty to the point that we put a towel down to walk in there and that towel started to get stained in dark yellow brown stains where water had mixed with the filth in the tile grout to form putrid little puddles of God knows what The Parking Garage is over $60 which is ludicrous for the amount already being spent on the room Despite staying in what I presume is one of the most costly rooms in the hotel, there is no microwave available, and no complementary breakfast, nor were any food vouchers offered to us. The night of my stay I wished to heat up a bit of refrigerated leftovers I had with me and I microwaved longer and longer and longer until I wound up at 7 minutes with my food still cold. For such a luxurious seeming hotel, you think they could afford more than one single broken budget class microwave for all of their guests to *attempt* to use. This half broken 700watt $80 Avanti microwave located 26 floors away from my room was extremely disappointing and left a much bigger impression upon me than any pretty view of some buildings and water ever could.

I am currently staying at this hotel and I must express extreme disappointment. The sole positive is the convenient location. As a frequent business traveler accustomed to four-star Hilton properties given my Diamond member status, I have rarely faced such poor treatment. Despite contacting the front desk ahead of time to request thorough cleaning due to severe animal allergies, it was evident upon my arrival that the room had been barely cleaned at all. The couch retained crumbs, the desk/table was covered in dust, and the shower/tub contained both dirt and an abundance of hair. When housekeeping was summoned to rectify the unsatisfactory condition of the bathroom, they debated back and forth with me regarding the cleanliness instead of resolving the issue promptly. Additionally, I had packages shipped in advance of my stay and was informed I would need to pay a $5 fee per parcel to claim them. This seems peculiar given front desk and bell staff are present. Later, I was informed by the front desk that they could not retrieve my second package as the back area contained excessive boxes making mine "too difficult to find". As I have already paid to receive my possessions on site, this excuse is inadequate. For a supposedly pet-friendly hotel, the lack of care shown to properly accommodate guests with animal allergies demonstrates negligence. Furthermore, the absence of basic cleanliness paired with unprofessional responses to legitimate concerns shows disrespect. As a Diamond loyalty member, I expect far better. The inability of staff to either deliver on promised standards or address complaints constructively reveals poor management. I urge this hotel to evaluate its operational gaps, employee training, and guest relations approach to prevent future major disappointments.

Polite staff, comfortable beds and great pillows! Our room had a great view. Enjoyed a little breakfast sandwich from the kiosk in the morning. We really liked being able to walk a few short blocks to the City Lights bookstore and to North Beach for a great Italian dinner. Good safe neighborhood will definitely return.

Good location right in Chinatown. Really nice staff. I had a problem with the person I was traveling with and everyone was really helpful in making sure I was safe and okay. Special thanks to the cleaning staff on my floor that day for staying with me until the person was escorted out and then checking on me later. This was my first time in a chain hotel after a year of backpacking Latin America staying in local accommodation types, so I kinda forgot what the standards for big hotel brands in the US are. Most hotel stays I've had in the past were fine, nothing special good or bad, and I'd usually stay alone so I really wasn't sure how to handle an incident with someone I was traveling with. Of the very few incidents I've had at hotels, most were caused by the staff themselves and I called my company for a new hotel when the hotel themselves didn't care. So I was worried the staff here wouldn't be much help with the situation, but they definitely put my safety first. The breakfast was filling, I ordered the sandwich with potatoes and only fit half in my belly, so saved the other half for a snack. Breakfast is definitely overpriced if you don't have credit for it. Don't forget they add taxes to the menu prices. I remembered tipping was a thing in the US, but I forgot about pre-tax prices on menus being a thing so they got me there when the check showed a few dollars higher than I expected 🙃 The 2 rooms I had (they switched me after the incident) both had mini fridges, which was great. The bartender opened my canned food and put them in bowls with utensils and there was a microwave in a sitting room near the lobby so I was able to heat up my food.

I get the impression that the hotel places guests on the same floors for ease of service, so the room was quite loud on both nights. If your neighbors are using the bathroom or watching TV, you will 100% hear it. The room was clean but the bathroom picture was moldy, which was a bit gross. Location is great though, and the prices are somewhat reasonable, so maybe would stay there again.

Stayed here in mid-November 2022. I had stayed here in the past as well and chose it again based on its location as it is very convenient to get a lot of "touristy" locations and also there is good eating nearby. My biggest complaint is that they don't have the executive lounge anymore which was hugely convenient and valuable. I still like the hotel but, without the lounge I will probably end up trying a different hotel next time.

Noisy and overpriced. We booked five months before arrival and the rate was $332. Two days before arrival the rate was $244. So, we canceled and made a new reservation for the same room type. We canceled and booked the same room category again. Hilton did not inform us about the new rate but asked us to pay even more for an upgrade. Parking garage is $60 per day. Reception advised not to leave anything in the car because it is not safe. The gate was open at all times but we did not receive a refund of our prepaid parking fee. We could understand neighbors speaking. On Friday neighbors made a party with music, stomping, and screaming. We payed for a nice views of the bay. It is not recommended to eat at the in-house restaurant since the food does not taste well. Mattress and air condition was good. We had a nice view of Coit Tower.

We enjoyed our stay. Great view from a high floor and elevators were very efficient-we were afraid we would be waiting a long time, but never more than 2 min. Great location near many restaurants and the area feels pretty safe, too.

This hotel was perfect for my business trip. The rooms are clean, food is good, views are outstanding, and service is superb! I want to shout out Carlos Andre Ruiz at the front desk. He greets every guest with a smile and patiently listens. Thank you for making my trip to SF such a breeze! The underground parking also made things so smooth for morning commutes. Thank you Andre and Hilton team!

Room was clean and attractive. Shower was great. Bed was comfortable. Front desk was friendly and quick. Great view from my room but unfortunately the windows were quite dirty. Also the hotel is pretty noisy with conversations from adjoining rooms being audible and noise coming from hallways, like people walking by and doors automatically shutting.

During a family visit this past August this was our home away from home. The service was exceptional. There was one slight hiccup with booking but Andre at the front desk and Dallas Cooper in the finance department straightened everything out right away. And even upgraded my father’s room at the same price as the one we booked for. I mean these folks are really attentive. Angela at the front desk was so kind to my daughter. The staff in the restaurant are also very kind, professional and attentive. The sights are beautiful and so is the community in which the hotel rests. The location is conveniently located to sight see and check out local shops. There’s a beautiful park right across the street with a playground where children can play. When we visited there was some kind of tournament taking place in the park and the locals were so kind and welcoming (which are universal languages) ❤️. When I’m San Fran, this will continue to be our home away from home. I highly recommend for family stays and even solo stays. Thank you Hilton team for making our stay one to remember and set the bar.

This hotel is very centrally located. We were able to walk to most spots, that's been great! I like that they have a parking garage, although it's an extra daily fee of $52. Based on reviews I thought they had options they don't, there's no longer a continental breakfast, and they no longer have a pool. At this time they don't even have room service available. The rooms are okay - not bad, not great. The staff was very nice, the lobby is nice. The location is great.

We stayed here in July. We loved the welcome on the television but I had to request a refrigerator. There was one microwave for the guests to use in the lobby. There was no microwave in our room. There were no plug on the desk. The worker walked across the hall into another room, took it out and placed it in our room. He said he will replace it. This was good. The staff was great. Will I stay here again? Probably not.

The trip was nice drove 8 hours. The room and the staff were friendly. However I had prepaid for the stay and I got charge upon checking in again on my debit card. I called the front desk and they said “Oh my God, we are sorry. It would take 2-3 business days to go back to your account” Usually I wouldn’t mind but it was Christmas and I was unable to get as many presents as I wanted since the put a hold on my card. Just make sure if you do prepaid to let them know so you won’t get charge again.

Everything that I saw from the lobby, bar, hallways, elevators, rooms, etc. was very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful when I had questions and needed to check in late. Room was very clean and comfortable. White noise machine in room was a very welcome surprise as walls are pretty thin. Would definitely stay again.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The staff were professional and courteous. Even as busy as they were the staff made sure to help out. We used their car service to get airport early in morning they were on time and professional. Our room was clean and had all the accommodations you needed. It’s right on the cusp of Chinatown, which makes sight seeing easy to access.
