Worst hotel I’ve been to. Room is super tiny, me and my husband could barely walk in there, nothing like the pictures. Walls are super thin, we could hear all the noise from other rooms, like a crying baby, a man coughing all night & all the noise outside. There is no air conditioning, we had to open the window to get some fresh air, and while I was laying in bed on my phone, I looked out the window and saw someone staring at me from another building… Super creepy. Mattress is super thin & Elevator is super tiny. They don’t offer free parking, you have to pay $35 a night. Most of the staff was nice and helpful but one man got really upset at ME when no one gave me a ticket so that I can park at the parking garage. On a more positive note, it is located in Chinatown, so there’s so many fun things to do & see.

Worse hotel I have been to ! Starting at the reception where the smell is sickening (and it's the same upstairs), the room is so small the door touches the bed and you can't even open your suitcase, it was dirty, body hair on the walls, towels are so old they are grey, the sink doesn't evacuate the water properly, as noisy as if you were on the street, cold and humid, very old bed, I really don't have anything positive to say about this place. I cancelled my reservation after spending 2 hours there and got scared of bed bugs. Don't waste your money based on the few positive reviews like I did.

Great location, wonderful staff. It had everything we needed including an extra blanket and pillows. A great value at the entrance to China Town.

Room was dirty when we got there. Trash on the floor. Street is very noisy with traffic. We couldn't sleep, because we had the keep the window open, as the room was stuffy and smelled. Supposed to have 2 double beds, but room only had 1. Do not recommend. Wish I had read the reviews before I booked. Save your money, or spend a little more for a decent hotel. We only booked a 1 night stay, so we suffered through. When we arrived, there were 3 people cleaning the Lobby, and it smelled strongly of disinfectant, so we felt like it was very clean. But once in the room, we literally thought there would be coakroaches once we turned the lights off!

I thought it was a great hotel, Especially for the price. The cons are the floors are all creaky and the walls are pretty thin. But nobody was loud or disrespectful, there weren't any kids running and screaming or rude neighbors. I thought it was a great location for me. Grant street is really cool during the day with all the shops or at night with the Chinese lights going across the street. It was safe and clean.

Stayed for 4 nights. This is a great location, walking distance. Everything is pretty close if you’re ok with a 15-30 min walk. It’s not too bad cuz the streets are as hilly as the rest of SF. 8 min drive to fisherman’s wharf and the mall etc. The hotel itself was clean. The room was pretty small but it was enough to sleep and shower. Which is all we needed it for. People can complain all they want about the noises on the streets, but you are literally staying down Chinatown, it’s POPULAR. Of course there’s gonna be cars and people DUH. The employees are all really nice and welcoming. I would stay again, and recommend you stay if you are looking for something cheap and to only sleep and shower in. 10/10

Grant Plaza Hotel is located step away from Chinatown and next door to a lovely coffee shop. The lobby area is very welcoming and clean. The checkin staff are very nice and polite. The rooms seem newly remodeled and the perfect size for those planning on being out all day. The bed linen seem fairly new and some toiletries such as bodywash, hand soap, makeup removing clothes, and shampoo/Conditioner are provided. Rooms are equipped with a good size TV and hair dryer. The rooms could be a could be alittle cleaner in my opinion but Im just a bit of a clean freak.

Me and my partner stayed last week. The hotel is lovely right in the middle of Chinatown which is very helpful. Our room was not cleaned the whole 6 days we stayed nor were the bins emptied despite us putting the maid sign out. Room not like on the photos, very small but for for purposes as we didn't spend much time in the hotel. Was very noisy at night and when other guests cane in but the bed was so comfortable that did t have a huge effect on us. Over all nice hotel for its money and location . Also staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to help. Would stay again xx

I was here for 2 night. The guy at the front desk was nice. The room was very, very small. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom was decently clean. I didn’t see signs of bedbugs. There was a weird stain on the blanket and I don’t want to think too much about what that was. The bed was hard but it was like the bed I had in my dorm room so it could have been worse. Basically, if you just need a place to sleep and clean up, this is fine. If you want a place to spend your day and relax, go someplace else. That being said, this hotel is in a convenient location for shops, venues, and transit.

Convenient spot near Chinatown. Room is decently comfortable but smells funky. Would be great if the hotel owners can steam clean the carpet regularly to get out the funky stench. The curtains could not close fully as well, resulting in some light peeking in.

Some rooms beds are firmer than others (I didn't like the firm bed I got the first night but after I was allowed to check out a few of the rooms I found they weren't all the same) all told.. this place is great! A true San Francisco hotel experience that everyone must experience if you love SF! It's in the perfect spot and this hotel has some of the best staff of all. Super friendly and they really go out of their way to make accommodations for their guests, i experienced this and witnessed it offered to other guests numerous times. Thanks guy's! Much appreciated!

Its no resort, but it's perfect for a short stay where most of the time will be spent outside getting to know the neighborhood. The single beds were a perfect size for one, and comfortable. It was within walking distance to everything. Even the fisherman's wharf was only a 20min walk away. Had no problems with noise or other guests.

Don't accept room 208! You will have a mattress upside down and if that wasn't bad enough the noise keeps you up all night. It's right off the street and there is no A/C however they do have heat that you will have no control over. It come on nightly getting the room so hot you are forced to open windows but the noise is horrible 😫. No room cleaning at all during your stay and you have to request clean towels if needed. For the cost savings it's just not worth the headache. Sheets and pillow cases had blood stains on them. 🤢🤮

I do not recommend!! The rooms are tiny. The water in the shower is cold. There is no heating in the room. No air conditioning. The room is not cleaned daily. The bed creaks and is small for 2 people.

The room I stayed in was very small and basic, nothing like the pictures on the website, but served its purpose as being a place to sleep and shower. The location in Chinatown made it easy to walk around and explore lots of different shopping and food. Thin walls, you can hear toilet flushes and hallway action, but I didn’t have a huge issue with that as much as the bed. It was way too firm, like sleeping on plywood, luckily there were extra pillows and an extra blanket to try and deal with the issue. All and all, not too bad for the cost and location

The location is great. It's close to the city centre, so you can easily walk or take public transport to wherever you need to go. Heads up your in Chain Town which offers plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. You can even find some great deals if you look around. All in all, this place is an excellent option for anyone looking for a budget-friendly place to stay in the city. The amenities may not be luxurious, but they are more than enough for a comfortable stay.

If I could choose zero stars I would without a doubt. I was very careful in choosing a hotel; this one seemed very comfortable and clean through the pictures. You can barely sleep because the bed springs make your back hurt. The rooms are very very small, ITS NOT LIKE IT LOOKS ON PICTURES AT ALL. The size of the bed is not even a queen like it says in the description, it is smaller than that. The carpet is dirty, and the service is something on the side that I was also unsatisfied with. I paid around $83 per night, and It was absolutely terrible. DO NOT RESERVE FROM THIS PLACE.

The location speaks for itself! Just past the dragon door in chinatown, stunning. Ideal base if you want to explore the city by foot. The historic cable car is just around the corner. The hotel is very clean and the staff is available 24h. Deeply recommend!

Very kind and friendly staff Ben, thank you for greeting me on my arrival and making me feel so special even this is my 1st time staying with them. Great location, standard room, with the price, perfect location and luggage storage! This is totally a hidden gem, should hav found this out sooner

Definitely just a basic hotel where you can just come leave your stuff and come back and sleep. No unique amenities whatsoever. The bed was super rock hard, the rooms basic and bare. Staff with definitely the highlight as they were super kind and helpful. Overall location couldn't be beat for the price.

My experience at the Grant Plaza Hotel was excellent! The hotel's location is unbeatable - situated in the heart of San Francisco, it offers easy access to public transportation, as well as a variety of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was both clean and comfortable. Despite its central location, the room was surprisingly quiet, which made for a peaceful stay. Although the hotel may not be the most luxurious option in San Francisco, it more than makes up for it with its affordable rates and prime location. I highly recommend the Grant Plaza Hotel for anyone seeking a convenient and comfortable place to stay in the heart of San Francisco.

Stayed at this hotel and had a good experience overall. The water pressure in the bathroom was fantastic, which made for a great shower experience. The bed was a bit firm at first, but I slept well once my body adjusted. The rate offered was unbeatable, considering the good amenities provided. Would definitely recommend for budget-conscious travelers looking for comfort and convenience.

Stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money compared to the Hilton. The location was in a clean and safe neighborhood and the rooms were comfortable with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good value hotel in a nice area.

Perfectly priced for what I was given. I stayed here for 5 nights and I couldn’t have been happier! The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the bed was comfortable and clean & the location was amazing. I was a 15 minute walk from most of the places/sights I wanted to see. Plus the street noise was perfectly fine from my experience. My only complaints were that the bathroom was a touch dirty, some hairs on the floor and the HDMI input on the tv wasn’t working. But that’s it. You absolutely get what you pay for and more with these guys! I hope you have as good as a stay as I did!

Absolutely terrible! Never would I stay here again. From the start we walked in the room was not what was advertised, the smell was gross and muggy, they told us rooms would not be cleaned during our stay. Probably weren’t even cleaned in between guests as I ended up with bug bites and flesh eating nasty all over my body. This is no exaggeration I am fair when it comes to giving the benefit of the doubt but this is just wrong it’s been 2 weeks and I am now seeking medical attention for the damage to my body from whatever it is I got from staying here. And I’ve reached out attempting a refund to make it right they have no interest in helping me or giving me money back they got my money I got bug bites. Stay as far away from here as possible.

It's a good hotel in the middle of Chinatown. A bit rundown but it is easy to overlook considering the price and location. The staff were attentive and friendly. It reminded me of the hotels in Vietnam.

Pictures on site do not match what you get. Elevator barely holds three people. We were told we were "upgraded" but when we got to the room the bed comforters were stained, a white substance which appeared to be of a particular type of bodily fluid was on the red bed skirt, found a hair in the bed, the beds are hard, soiled carpet to the point we didn't want to remove our shoes, The drawers were soiled with a greasy substance. The remote didn't work because the batteries in it were so corroded we couldn't even get them out and last but not least, NO HEAT!!!! When we mentioned the heat situation to the front desk, they told us to come grab a space heater from probably about 1950. Luckily we brought our own sheets and blanket along with plenty of lysol spray. And our wonderful rooftop view we were "upgraded" to was a view of the apartments across from us. Thank goodness we only had to stay one night. I gave it one star because the staff was friendly.

I very much enjoyed my stay here at Grant Plaza. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was simple but had all the amenities we needed and at a good price. The hotel is located in a very convenient location in China Town.

It’s ok, for the price. It’s a good location, the rooms leave room for improvement. We had two twin beds even though we are married, a huge stain on our carpet, honestly the bathroom was the nicest part of this stay. Mattress was so hard. If you’re only staying a night or two and sleeping/showering here it’s a good deal.
