Decided to try out this hotel for two nights in October 2023. I want to start by saying that the employees at this location were great and provided excellent service. However, my displeasure brewed more when Donatello decided to erroneously overcharge my stay by an additional $600. Thankfully, I physically checked out and their staff apologized stating they incorrectly computed the wrong amounts for my 2-night visit. Although my invoice was fixed at check-out and re-assured, it appeared that Donatello still attempted to over-charge my total once again (which had to be disputed with my financial institution). Furthermore, the room we were given had unacceptable wear and tear on the chairs and a deplorable garbaged view (literally outside our window). The ice machine on our floor was also out of service. Also, this location does not have a swimming pool. They have a very small-sized Jacuzzi that could only accommodate 4-6 adults like sardines. The sauna in the ladies' area was not functioning during our stay. If you plan to stay here, I suggest physically checking out and obtaining a paper copy of your invoice to ensure that your charges are accurate. Overall, personally, I was displeased with my experience and do not plan on considering this resorts or hotels in the future.

We loved our stay here. The location is great, very close to Union Square and manageable walk to Downtown. Lovely Art Deco building. Loved the Club, small fitness center and place to hang out with free drinks with great views of the city. The room is exactly what we need. We need a fridge for our babyโ€™s milk and food. Comfortable bed and spacious layout. Staff are super nice and accommodating as well.

Great location, close to transportation and shopping. We booked a King size bed with a sleeper sofa and it worked perfect for us and our two small kids. The room was a good size and the attached restaurant was pricey but delicious. Bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good.

We traded our timeshare for this location. They put us on the top floor, we could open the windows for fresh air, daily SF newspaper under the door every morning, microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge (bring your on Keurig cups if you have them). Daily cleaning and chocolates for bed turn down. The bedding was super comfortable. The location is awesome - there are plenty of places to eat (offering many different cuisines) within a few blocks in all directions. We've decided to come back next year - there are so many things to do and places to go - one week wasn't enough, but no worries. Staff was warm and friendly.

5/5. Stayed there for 6 days. Amazing room, huge space and very clean. The staff was amazing, eager to help and very polite. The location is central and close to everything (cable car start, financial district, shopping centers, China town). Only 25 min walking from Pier 33 (for the Alcatraz tours - if you fancy a walk). The hotel offers free coffee capsules (very handy for early mornings). There is a very relaxing customer lounge on the rooftop with free coffee, tea and newspapers. Make sure to visit the sauna and pool. There are NO hidden fees or charges (a thing that frustrated and disappointed me with other US hotels). Will definitely stay again if in San Francisco.

It was a delightful place to stay. Very clean and elegant hotel. The staff were all attentive, kind and helpful. Rooms are large and have so many great amenities like Chromecast installed for your use. It is located in a central part of the city so it is a fantastic location to stay for business and pleasure. Some of the best shopping is only blocks away while the area is lined with a great variety of food. Sadly I did not stay long enough to try the restaurant inside.

had a pleasant experience at The Donatello. Super friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room and comfy bed. Big TV with chromecast enabled, and a desk for those who need to work. I appreciate that they have the microwave and the bowls. Would have been nicer if they provided some water bottles.

Great location with decent rooms including fridge / TV and big comfortable bed. Located right in the thick of things close to union Square. Beware of the hard sell trying to get you to attend a 90 min presentation when we arrived but this was easily rejected. Staff otherwise very pleasant

The Donatello was so nice on the inside. It's right in the middle of union square so all the best shopping and food was in walking distance. The beds were so comfortable. I had the king suite and the layout was great. The only thing was the room I was in didn't have the best view. Looking out I was surrounded by roof tops and other buildings. They have free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate on the roof top lounge. The concierge and the rest of the staff seemed nice.

Nice service particularly from the jovial bellhop this Wednesday morning (apologies for not tipping before running off!). Main downside of staying here is that the windows have bad soundproofing, so you can hear all the sirens, garbage pickup etc outside at night and early morning. Also would be nice if they provided tea as well in the rooms, and more easily accessible filtered water (only on 7th and lobby floors). Checkout at 10am is also earlier than average. On the upside, the club lounge is a nice place to do a little work in during the day or pass the time before heading to the airport.

Excellent location! Walking distance to bart, union Square, cable cars and good food all around. Rooftop lounge with coffee, hot tub, sauna. Everyone here was so friendly. We can't wait to return!

We LOVED our stay here! Customer service, room quality and size (other than some worn out chairs), security, and the roof top terrace were lovely. There is also a small hot tub that was super relaxing with spa candles and a waterfall that added to the experience. Highly recommend!

Great location downtown. Room was massive. Friendly service from everyone. Jacuzzi and gym and sauna are nice additions for the club members and hotel guests. Complimentary tea and coffee in the morning. Showers water pressure can be better as well as hot water. They have a jazz bar and Italian restaurant downstairs. Lobby area is very inviting and picture worthy. I would stay here again.

Great staff service in a central easy to access location(at least in relation to other San Francisco spots). Rooms are immaculate with good views and ability to slightly open windows for fresh air and ambience. Minimal walking distance to/from rooms for those needing special needs or wheelchair access. The Club features up to date common area gym equipment, saunas( one in each locker room), and a relaxing central spa. Spa area features skylight and relaxing decor and ambience. Spa size is smaller ( 4 adults at a time but the stress free environment more than makes up for the small capacity.

Normally, I stay at the Hilton near Union Square. This time I stayed at The Donatello. Itโ€™s clean, tidy, spacious, has a kitchenette with microwave, kettle, plates, bowls & cutlery. Level 15 offers a nice spacious lounge to enjoy guests free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, gym & 2 saunas (ladies & mens are separated).

Great place to stay! Great staff. Spacious rooms and nice clean bathrooms. Best part - They have luggage storage for when you check out and want to roam around before your flight! Choose these guys over Hilton and Marriott if looking in this area.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Donatello. Everyone was warm and welcoming and run a smooth operation in everything. from the valet parking to the concierge. The room was clean spacious and comfortable. The bed was heavenly and had a good restful evening. Perfect location for restaurant and shopping. We will definitely use this hotel whenever we are in San Francisco. Our home away from home.

Really good hotel. Unbeatable location. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The Valet parking was really convenient. The club on the top level was fantastic. Will definitely book again for our next SF visit.

Great staff! Got early checkin without hassle. Rooms are spacious. Theyโ€™ve great amenities such as gym, cold face towels, sauna, jacuzzi, rooftop, filtered water, etc. Rooms are spacious, big windows, well furnished with good sofa, small kitchenette in your room with coffee machine, microwave, fridge. Great hotel! Iโ€™d like to stay here again. 1 star less for Carpet was bit dirty The temperature system in room was confusing to operate. The annoying cleaning staff on the check out day kept knocking my door every 5 mins.

Fabulous hotel in downtown San Francisco. I stayed for 7 nights in late October 2022, and found the hotel to be very clean, spacious, safe, and perfectly located for business trips or holidays. The staff were exceptional - super friendly and helpful, and Carlos (concierge) went out of his way to help me. Highly recommended.

I didn't know of Wyndham hotels and resorts until my wife and I visited The Donatello in San Francisco. We are from Europe where there are no Wyndham properties. We were impressed by the size and quality of our room, the fittings and furnishings are all excellent. We had some contact with staff; and receptionists, concierge and car parking people were really very helpful and cheerful; a delight to meet! The hotel is a short walk from Union Square therefore in easy reach of a cable car and the yellow line metro train. We hope to return to The Donatello.

I stayed in an Airbnb in the hotel. Great location, close to a vibrant part of San Francisco. I feel safe and secure walking nearby and staying in the hotel. Check-in was easy. Room is very clean. Lots of mirrors...

Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff, huge room with big bed and nothing was too much trouble. Little luxuries in the toiletries too an the roof top coffee bar views....amazing! I will absolutely be back!

Went to SF for a wedding and the bride and grooms were here. Very nice hotel. The rooms had access to a shared courtyard which was great. I would definitely recommend staying a few nights here. Service and scenery were a plus.

Great location, great room and super-attentive staff. The rooftop lounge is an amazing extra. Have stayed in many hotels in this area; this one will be at the top of my list next time Iโ€™m back in town.

The place exceeded our expectations. Great value. Great location, big spacey rooms. They have complimentary sauna and a loft where you can chill with your own drinks by the fireplace. The only downside was that they did not make our room on the 2nd day (even the bed was not made, although the curtains were drawn for the night). No big deal but it was weird. Next days the room was put in order OK. They also charged us for a biscuit that we did not eat, so I'd say it may be worth improving on checking the in room bar register. But all in all, 9.5/10, highly recommend!

Very friendly staff. They check COVID vaccinations to use the hot tub, sauna, and fitness area. Rooms are high class and have very comfy beds. Microwaves and mini fridge in the studio. They have some rooms with showers and some with bathtubs (better if you have kids). Pack and play available upon request.
