It’s not a 5 star hotel. Lack of amenities and facilities really discount their ability to rate it as a 5 star. Staff was decent, not very attentive or thoughtful. The valets and housekeeping were a lot nicer than the front desk personnel which is weird for a “5 star”. We stayed there for 3 nights told the front desk that we had 2 nights of incredible noise (apparently coming from unit below us) and sounded like someone was moving furniture the entire night. Very loud to the point of not being able to sleep. Said “I ll have someone look into it”. No follow up. No apology. nothing. They call themselves a five star because these are condo grade residences and the location is above the Ghirardelli chocolate experience next to the water. It’s a fancy apartment building with no amenities in a touristy location. Short of that it’s nothing special and definitely not worth their prices for accommodation. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless someone else is paying or you love Ghirardelli chocolate.

This place was AMAZING. Service was excellent. Everyone very friendly. Beautiful condo, fireplace, master bedroom was what dreams are made of. Free coffee in lounge. Filtered ph balanced water machine for refillable water bottles. Definitely a must stay. Oh and shopping and restaurants in building and a short walk away from pier and much more.

Every visit is a pleasure and the staff treat each guest with the utmost respect. The rooms are well kept and have everything you would need. There can be some noise from the square but it tends to quiet down after 10/11pm. You can't beat the bay views!

The Fairmont at Ghirardelli Square was FANTASTIC! The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The room was to die for, and the location can't be beat! If you're staying in San Francisco, book here first!

The suites have well equipped kitchens, with the necessary flatware, silverware and glassware, pots & pans. The Nespresso machine is a nice touch. The views can be spectacular, with Alcatraz nearby. The suites have a washer and dryer which is extremely convenient. It feels like every detail of the suites are well thought through with the guests comfort in mind. The staff is always friendly, courteous and helpful. I really appreciate the high level of customer service and cannot say enough positive things about the workers.

We’ve stayed at the fairmont heritage place several times. It’s clean, quiet, the staff are amazing and it’s an excellent location. The multi bedroom units are perfect when we bring our grandkids to the city. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need if ordering in food. There are several restaurants nearby.

Due to a cancelled flight, we stayed here for 1 night at short notice. Spectacular view of Alcatraz and quiet location close to the piers. You have to rent a bike and cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge. :)

A dream come true property, this is what service is all about. The team at the Fairmont Heritage Place will delight your soul. Outstanding 5 star experience. The service was impeccable from all staff members. Initially, we only booked for a 2 week stay and kept extending, for another 5 months while we were remodeling our home. We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with high end amenities, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer in every residence, which is very difficult to find in San Francisco. Along with my family being extremely happy with our stay, our dog had a fabulous time as well, as they are pet friendly and supplied him with a dog bed, dog bowls, and dog treats. The doorman loved to give him treats as we would come and go. Besides staying in luxury, you are in a prime and safe location, just upstairs from Ghirardelli Square. You are also in close walking distance from Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach, Fort Mason, and the Marina District. The Mustard Terrace was our favorite part of the hotel. It has spectacular views of Alcatraz, the bay and the world’s famous Ghirardelli sign above. We loved hanging out on the comfy outdoor couches by the fire pit, day or night. The hotel also offers a complimentary generous wine and cheese hour every Wednesday and Friday which was a wonderful perk. We can’t thank the entire staff enough who went out of their way to make our stay feel like home. I can honestly say, the staff treated everyone like family! A few of them are Marco, Stephen, Aziz, Ryan, YuMi, Jean, Jason, Jeff, Asim, Lucia, Michelle, Johnson, Byron, The housekeeping team, Dallas, Karina, and Sarah. And of course the managers Jonathan, Dan, and Jessica.

I would not recommend Fairmont Ghirardelli. Our room was very loud (even with the windows closed) and I was surprised that the large windows (facing Ghirardelli Square at ground level) looking into the living area & bedroom are not tinted at all- so there is no privacy. Everyone could see us that was walking around in the public space outside! With the price we paid we were very disappointed by the loud noise and lack of privacy in the rooms. When we asked for a different room, the lobby did nothing- how is this place a 5-star hotel? I would NOT recommend it and feel like it was definitely not worth the money at all. I'm very disappointed.

Wish I could give less stars. We need more responsible people if we are going to bring about solid good positive change towards a balance with nature It is 72 warm sunny degrees out in August and this management has a fire burning. Fire the management and get someone in there that thinks. People need a place to wear their jackets.

We stayed here for two nights to do typical tourist things around San Francisco. My family and I loved it! We were four adults (one couple, two singles) and the 2 bedroom apartment was plenty big enough with 2 beds and the sofabed. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a "city view" which faced Polk, but we could still see a bit of the bay. We also enjoyed the lounge areas outside with fire pits - although we couldn't figure out how to start the fire pit on the second floor. The staff and service were great - everyone was friendly, we never once had to open the hotel's main door, and we had someone check-in with us every day via text message. There were only three cons IMO: 1. We got lost when first checking in! The main entrance is on North Point/Polk. You cannot access the lobby from Ghirardelli Square until you've checked in. 2. I wish the hotel room had some snacks. For only two nights, we had a fridge/stove/oven, but no food! If we were staying for longer, we definitely would have grocery shopped. 3. During our second night (Sunday night), there was some street noise that was very loud and woke us up. I think it was trash trucks. In general the room had good noise insulation, but for some reason these trucks were LOUD!

Hotel Fairmont will provide world-class service right on the water. My very large family felt right at home. Our family feels this is a very positive environment. We found this to be the perfect spot.

If you're looking for luxury right by the pier, this is your hotel. From the time you step in the front doors, you're tested to a first class experience. The rooms are perfectly decorated with high ceilings and all the comforts of home. You really need to push yourself to leave if you're on vacation. We had a two bedroom suite.

I absolutely love the location of the Fairmont Heritage Place - it's central to so many different activities. The staff was so helpful and polite. The rooms were clean and pretty spacious for a hotel. We really enjoyed our time at the Fairmont!
