Amazing, as always! This was our second time back since 2018 and were blown away again by the quality of food, service, ambiance. Service is attentive and prompt, food came in generous portions tasting delicious! I got the English Cut and really enjoyed it (thinner cut). Sides were all delicious and their dessert was also amazing (got the English Trifle which I enjoyed). Honestly, food is so good here and the quality is consistent. Can’t wait to come back!

House of Prime Rib specializes in prime rib and the perfect sides. They do have fish depending on what is fresh & in season. Reservations are a must and very difficult to get. We booked in October for February to celebrate a birthday. The staff is very well trained and excels at top notch service. The price of your prime rib cut includes the accompaniments. The bread is fresh & warm, the salad & baked potatoes are dressed table-side with flare. The cocktails were made to perfection. If you are not a red meat eater, which I love but it doesn't love me, so I ordered the fresh halibut and it was excellent. I did have a bite of the prime rib and it was melt in your mouth yummy, I wished I could have enjoyed more of it. Everyone order the King Henry the VIII cut, so they would have leftovers. We sat by the kitchen and I counted 25 enormous prime ribs coming out on the way to their carving stating and gave up. We had the creme brule for dessert. This is must for your bucket list.

Definitely one of the best dining out experiences in my life. The presentation, skill and speed at which you are served at the table is like a show unto itself. They do one thing, prime rib, it is done to perfection. Our chef Juan was like an artist carving and serving a plate full of savory flavors. Although I generally do not like cooked spinach I could have made a meal of the side dish. Wonderful smokey flavor mixed with the earthy spinach made for a unique flavor that I truly enjoyed. Although crowded, it was a lively experience and it felt like normalcy had returned to eating out. I highly recommend going to the House of Prime Rib if you can get in during your visit.

Such an iconic SF restaurant, we haven't been here in years but decided to try and get reservations (2 month wait). Their service and prime rib is still really top notch and their signature cocktails are great because it's like getting 2. My son really enjoyed their creamed spinach. We also ordered dessert which were very good! Tiramisu, apple crumble and the pecan pie.

I love places that just do one thing and do one thing well. If you aren't in the mood for beef, then don't come here--you will be eating prime rib, and it is delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal experience. The staff definitely make a show out of it, dressing salads and baked potatoes and dividing Yorkshire puddings straight out of the pans at the table. They also have a wide selection of drinks and desserts to accompany your meal. I'm not often in the mood for prime rib, but when I am I'll definitely come back here. TL;DR Beautifully appointed English restaurant that does prime rib and accoutrements well.

You'll definitely need to make a reservation. Otherwise, you can try to get the bar seating if it's a group of 2-3 people. My friends and I had a reservation on a weekday, and the restaurant was packed. Their menu is very simple. You pick your choice of the cut of the meat. Regardless of the cut of the meat, you'll get a bunch of accompaniments - yorkshire pudding, salad, choice between mashed potatoes or baked potatoes, choice between creamed spinach, or creamed corn. The salad bowl is prepared fresh in front of you if you are seated at the table (not at the bar). Their salad dressing is really good. I'm not a salad person, but I finished this one. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had a velvety texture and smooth consistency. Creamed corn was delicious as well. I tried their English cut option for the meat. It was sliced in thin pieces. The meat was juicy and tender. The meat portion was very generous, and I struggled to finish the meat in the first round itself. You can also get a second round of meat free of charge if you are still hungry. Please note that the portion size for your second serving is usually smaller than the first serving. I personally couldn't even finish the first serving. Our server was super nice and attentive. She definitely helped us in making some decisions by sharing her personal favorite menu items. The restaurant boasts English-style dining rooms with fireplaces and cozy leather banquettes, making it as intimate as it is iconic. Though I must add, all the tables are placed pretty close to each other so it can be very loud. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

From service to leaving the experience is par non. Michael our hostess was great and our server Marcus was amazing. From the knowledge to the personality this restaurant has an amazing staff and they are here to serve. Prime rib - so juicy and tender it melts in your mouth. Make sure to try the complimentary sauces they are equally as delicious as the rest of the food and compliment the prime rib well. Mashed potatoes - so flavorful and delicious Creamed spinach - was creamy and fresh Cream of corn - was very flavorful and succulent Cream brûlée - I must say one of the best I’ve ever had English trifle - as good as you’d expect anywhere! Fresh fruit for sure. One thing about house of prime rib is they are always consistent. If you want an experience par none ask for Marcus and be ready to have one of the best serve you!

Solid place for a very filling dinner. You pick your choice of prime rib and are served a bunch of complementary sides. The salad and Yorkshire pudding don’t come with adjustments but you have a choice between mashed or baked potato and creamed spinach or corn. My preference was the baked potatoes and the corn but honestly don’t fill up on the sides so you can get free seconds on the main if you finish! The portion sizes of the meat has gone down compared to previous years but overall still good. Great service and vibes here as well.

Funny that I've been here twice. Different dress difference treat? You'll know later. Food is so-so but over price. The corn dish is too much cheese and fat. Steak is known for their signature and absolute best. A fun place to gather with your buddies and family

What an experience! My husband brought me here to celebrate my birthday. We did not have a reservation, but we came early (3:00pm) and was 3rd in line. They opened door at 3:30pm, we got our names on the list and was lead to the waiting hallway where we got our first drinks while we waited. The wait wasn't too bad ~ about 10 minutes, then we were seated. Our server was fantastic. We made our order and while we were waiting for our food he came by to check on us and made small talk. During which he found out we were celebrating my birthday and everything changed from that moment on. He left and came back with a little plate that had a cute birthday message on it. And right as we were finished with our main meal, he brought out a sweet little birthday desert with candles and all and sang happy birthday. He made the night so special and it was an unforgettable experience. The prime ribs were excellent! And you must try the cream spinach and cream corn!! I cannot wait to be back! =)

*** Make sure you make reservations well in advance (24 hours or more.) Made same day reservations and we couldn’t get anything before 10pm! But it was a birthday weekend and our last day in town. We were not disappointed, made the best of the day site seeing more than we had planned before heading back home to the central coast. Worked up an appetite all day. The meat cuts were amazing and full of flavor. The service, once we got there, was fast, efficient and it was a nice 2 hour drive home will a happy full belly. So glad I came here.

OMG! I haven't had a cut of beef this good in forever. You won't get fresher or tastier salad, or main meal. Unfortunately the small portions were too much to allow me to try desert. You do have to pay for the quality but it's worth it. A bucket list restaurant. If you want reservation, call at least 6-8 weeks or more In advance. They are that busy but if you show up at 4:30 when they open, they do their best to accommodate walk ups. We did that and were seated at 5pm and had a cocktail in the lounge while waiting. They also have some lounge seating available. Stop by and enjoy!

Walking in the House Of Prime Rib was packed. Every table was busy with groups of people. The ambiance was warm and inviting and had an older vibe. The service was positive. Our server gave us the low down and we began to order. The food came promptly and was carved and crafted table side. The experience was enjoyable. Our group had different cuts, creamed spinach, creamed corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, and baked potatoes. It was difficult to get a reservation but it was well worth the wait. We also enjoyed the levels of horseradish spice for the cuts of prime rib.

Came to San Francisco for vacation and was lucky enough to get a reservation here. The prime rib was very soft and tender. Sides were also very good. We especially liked the creamed spinach and corn. Service and atmosphere of the restaurant was also very lively and friendly. It was a great experience.

House of Prime Rib - what a delicious SF experience you must try!! They have different sized cut depending on how hungry you are and want to tackle. If you finish your entire cut, feel free to ask your server if you can receive a free cut on the house - we succeeded in getting an extra one! The entree course comes with horseradish dressing (different levels of spiciness and strength), salad, Yorkshire pudding, and sides such as corn, spinach, mashed, or baked potatoes. Really great drinks here as well - including the port (for dessert). From friends, we hear it’s best recommended to get a table reservation well in advance. Apparently this restaurant is booked out on weekends and holiday weekends so be sure to snag a reservation early on if you’re visiting on a special occasion. There is also valet parking service here as well. Staff was friendly and personable. While the restaurant states they close at 10 PM, we were hesitant to get dessert, not wanting to keep everyone later but our server generously soothed our stress and explained this is an experience to remember - and indeed it was!

Just the best place. Classic SF establishment and absolute best place for meat eaters. I tried the English cut this time, and it was delicious. Great cocktails and wine too. Huge restaurant and very popular, lots of noise and happy people. Made reservation a year in advance, and then made my next reservation for 6 months later! Didn’t drink much (one cocktail, glass of wine, soda) on our last visit and total was under $200, so is pretty affordable for great food and always knowing you’ll leave super full!

I absolutely love House of Prime Rib. I have been here many times for many occasions including my birthday, my anniversary and when family comes to visit. This time we went for my husband’s birthday and it never disappoints. The prime rib is delicious. The salad is the best. The mashed potatoes are to die for. The ambiance is old school. Good luck getting a reservation.

With really only one thing on the menu, you know it’s going to be good. The salad was a little disappointing, but the Yorkshire sure made up for it. Definitely get the roast potato over the mashed. The only thing was the noise level in the room we where in. Lots of young & rowdy people. I was expecting a more refined atmosphere over the Applebees feeling it had. This really did make it a disappointment for a birthday meal.

Honestly for what you get, the price is pretty reasonable. The salad was hand-tossed and plated at the table and it was absolutely delicious. The steaks were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The sides were also awesome. It is called House of Prime Rib for a reason. Highly recommend!

Definitely got a New York restaurant vibe from it, something out of a movie. I personally didn't enjoy their steaks, but my wife loved the place. Guess I'm not a steak kinda guy. Drinks were really good. I had the old fashioned and Remy. Wife had the Moscow mule. Desserts were also very good (posted our bread pudding, but we had a taste of everything as well went with friends).

It was a neat experience, maybe I’m just not a rib-eye person. Loved the cocktail hour and two time seating. Meal was good but not to die for. Service and experience of dining there was 100. Also appreciated the option to split a steak but still get separate full sized side dishes.

NOT the best prime rib I have ever had, but if my fav is a 10, House of Prime is a 9.995. That being said it is a 10 for ambiance, coolness, service and funk. Waited for a very long time to hang at the bar, but the wait was cool in their “hallway seating” where you can experience the waltz dance of the staff coming and going with a smile and lovely plates. The wait also compounded my hunger, so not only was I able to polish the Henry, but had a little room for the “fantasy” desert. A magical and memorable experience that highlights my stay in SF.

Good prime rib. Loaded baked potatoes were awesome (ate half of hers). I switched it up a bit and tried the mashed potatoes. They were too runny for my taste and a very small portion at that. Creamed spinach was good. I finished mine and hers! Too bad San Francisco has become such a dirty place to visit. Trash and homeless people ruling the streets. It's sad. I will stick to restaurants closer to home or in Napa in the future because of this but this is not the restaurants fault. If it was closer to me I would definitely visit again.
