Classic old school atmosphere, warm and wise service and hearty Italian classics served quickly and efficiently. Cioppino, Linguine porcini scallops, ravioli Ragu, an off menu cannoli dessert and veal parmigiana stood out. Great place to entertain.

It would be easy to just say that this is a typical North Beach Italian place, but it's actually not. It definitely had it's own flavor. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and intimate, with everything being the opposite of what you'll find at a chain restaurant. Our waiter was able to get the bartender to concoct some wonderful non alcoholic drinks for us. The Bolognese sauce was so full of flavor I had to wipe the plate clean with my bread. No, it is not a cheap meal, but worth every dollar we paid. Can't wait for a return trip.

In a city and neighborhood full of good but mostly casual Italian trattorias, North Beach Restaurant is an oasis of classic fine dining. The interior is elegant and spacious, they are playing jazz quietly (not club music), and even when full the noise is not distracting. The staff are all over you, my wine glass was never empty. We had lasagna (great) and the mezzi rigatoni (incredible). Wines by the glass could be upgraded but bottle selection is solid. The location allows for after-dinner drinks in hundred different places or just a nice walk and some gelato if you have room left. Bathrooms are super clean and, well, novel, I'll let you discover that yourself. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Absolutely wonderful! Some of the best pasta I've had since I was in Italy! Great service, excellent wine list. Will definitely be back!

My daughter had her wedding reception here last Saturday evening. The restaurant opened up an hour early, so we could host a cocktail hour upstairs. The reception was in a stately yet beautiful room downstairs. We had 52 guests and the food was flawless! The service was beyond superb with Jim leading the wait staff and catering to our every unplanned need on the spot! Shane did an outstanding job as the Event Coordinator and was very easy to work with. This has always been my daughter’s favorite restaurant in SF and it will forever be in our hearts as one of the most important pieces of our family’s big day!

Disappointed. I remember coming here years ago for a work dinner, in the cellar banquet room. Great memories, but tonight for my son's 19th birthday it wasn't nearly as I had remembered. Limited vegetarian options and the Bucatini sauce had meat in it. They tried to up-sell me on a bottle of wine for 2 drinkers. They also tried to fast talk me into pasta appetizers for the whole table. What was that about?! We also ended up with 2 plates of over-steamed broccoli. No dinner with 4 kids needs 2 plates of broccoli. Thanks for watching out for us. Don't get me wrong, most of the dishes we had were good, albeit a bit pricey, but I felt like I was at a used car lot, buyer beware. I'm no SF food rookie, I've lived and eaten here for 20 years, treat me and my family with respect. We're trying to enjoy a special family occasion during these times, not be on guard. Oh and thanks for the 2 x $8 bottles of still water?! I asked at the end if we could take a peek at the cellar banquet room, was told it's under construction, but that I could make a separate reservation to see it??? Will not be going back.

Came for a 70 years birthday party. The host took me to the wrong group and I was welcomed by 8 handsome man OMG 🥰🤣. We got drinks wine appetizers salads main course desserts and everything from the food via service was amazing. The staffs were professional friendly and really attentive of our needs. We also met Moe the General Manager and made our dinner experience beyond amazing. Certainly the best dining experience in San Francisco and we have been around many places.

Damian was PHENOMENAL!! Everything was absolutely delightful. I really expected just typical Italian tourist fare but it was not. Every person who helped us seemed so happy to be here and happy we were here. A sommelier was offered to us to decide on wine, which we happily agreed to. The food was delicious. Our server was incredible. I am here on vacation but I would absolutely come back here.

We had a fun and lively dinner here last Saturday around 7:30 pm. Our friends made a reservation ahead of time, which I highly recommend (there were a few parties on the wait list). The staff were not only pleasant, but very approachable and personable— they made jokes, smiled, and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there! ☺️ Of the food we ordered, the table favorite was a seafood linguini with scallops (about $28). The scallops were so tender and flavorful, perfectly cooked! Two at our table had the Pasta Della Casa ($20) and another had a breaded flatfish fillet (which he liked). If you come here, I suggest going all out with the seafood: I wish I had gone for lots of scallops, instead of my conservative (but yummy) house pasta! 🍤🍝 The place is popular for birthdays, at one point there were 4 happy birthday songs sung in about a 20 minute period, which was hilarious. 🎂

I have been wanting to try this place for a looooong time. I finally made it with my family while we were staying at the Wyndham on Bush St. The ambience is mellow, with a mix of tourists and locals. We made reservations for 6:30 and it was good that we did because we came before the rush. I ordered the veal parmigiana and it came with some broccoli and potatoes. The Chianti I had was good. The bread is fresh. The Caesar salad was good. I would recommend this place for yummy Italian food in North Beach.

North Beach Restaurant never disappoints! Veal Piccata was excellent and highly recommend the prosciutto and melon and tiramisu for dessert. Great service, perfect Italian cuisine, and romantic ambiance. Doesn’t get much better than this in San Francisco!

We held our wedding reception downstairs for 72 guests. The proscuitto room was perfect for the appetizers and the main room held 5 large tables for dinner. We were able to have a DJ and room for dancing. Guests raved about the unique atmosphere and the staff was really great about accommodating hours available for setup and takedown. The food was delicious and the location was safe and perfect. I'd highly recommend checking out this unique venue!

I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, so I planned a nice date night here. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I had a 7:15 reservation, and I arrived 10 minutes early. The host said they were running a few minutes behind. No big deal, so we had a seat at the bar. We weren't seated until 7:45. A waiter bumped into me and spilled my drink. They didn't offer another one. Once we were seated, we continued to wait for a long time. We ended up spending over 3 hours total at this restaurant (we didn't even order dessert). Even at 10:30pm when we just wanted to leave, it took ages for someone to take the check. These things can be forgiven, but worst of all was that we ordered wine but it they never brought it. How does an Italian restaurant forget the wine? I didn't realize it was missing until I started eating. I could have tried to flag someone down, but I lost all confidence in the service at that point. The food however was outstanding. It was the only redeeming quality of the evening. Next time I plan a dinner date, I'll go to Spruce or SPQR...

Amazing as always. A little taste of Tuscany in San Francisco ❤️ I always get the Mixed Seafood Tagliatelle and dessert is always a must. Their cheesecake and their chocolate cake are a must and if you do dessert, you must do a cappuccino as well.

Busy night for staff, long waits etc but they did well enough given the circumstances. Pasta was fine but not good enough to justify the price point.

We've been patrons of this restaurant for decades. Superb food and service, as usual. Recently we dined there for my wife's birthday. The staff cheerfully helped with our photos and otherwise accommodated our modest, quiet celebration.

Dinner was excellent. Service was outstanding, as usual. I shared some calamari fritti start, Caesar salad and Ossobuco. Can't recommend this place enough. Will be back again. The Old Fashioned was on point.

Amazing food, incredible staff and a fantastic atmosphere. The “wine master” as I called him cos I’m not cultured enough to know the real name was spot on with the wine suggestions. Additionally, barkeep is a fantastic conversationalist. Definitely will go back.

Very hard to find Italian Tuscany cuisine in San Francisco. I believe this is the only one. Very friendly staff, great service and food. Thank you for supporting and welcoming SFPD.

Upscale restaurant in the heart of north beach. Great food and service. We had the farro soup, the Tuscan raviolis and the halibut. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked.

We had a fantastic dinner at North Beach Restaurant last night! It has been newly redecorated and is a beautiful blend of romantic "old-world " Italian and contemporary San Francisco. The bar and dining:rooms are elegant and sophisticated yet casual and comfortable. We loved the welcoming atmosphere. The pastas were light and perfectly prepared, the halibut and saltimbocca were absolutely delicious, and the prices reasonable! For years past it was the "go to" restaurant for my husband and the people who worked in the area pre-covid and with the dedication of the new manager Mo (same owners we understand), the place has had a fabulous new facelift and is once again a gourmet jewel in the city. We highly recommend it!

What a wonderful restaurant! My boyfriend and I are new to the area and celebrated our 7 year anniversary here. We were cheerfully greeted and given “the best table in the place”, which was truly wonderful. Staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and friendly. I think we met everyone working, which made us feel very special. Food and drinks were delicious. Small portions, but so tasty! When it came time for dessert, we had a beautiful tiramisu with a candle and an anniversary song! We will definitely be back. Thank you!!
