OVERALL: what a fantastic experience and place to stay; the service is warm and friendly and feels very personal without ever feeling obtrusive; the place looks exactly like on their pictures, all of their advertising is 100% trustworthy; a beautiful lobby in which wine and cheese is served each afternoon and which will actually become part of your trip, not just a place to stay. Overall, highly highly recommend it! SERVICE: a true B&B vibe, friendly, personal, getting breakfast prepared each morning; it's just so relaxing to be there ROOMS: exactly as on all of their pics, you're staying in a true piece of townhouse/ craftsman history; but despite being historic, it all feels clean and well-kept, including the bathroom DOWNSIDES: if you're a light sleeper, please be aware that the room is very bright (there are windows over the doors to the hallway where the light is on, so it's very bright; and it being a historic building you can of course hear everything)

What a lovely place. Despite that we arrived way too early to drop off our luggage during breakfast time, Kelly accommodated us immediately and very friendly. This is truly a great B&B experience. We spent quite some time chilling in the living room, drinking coffee and tea. You can play records too. Kelly and other staff bake cookies and bread themselves. The breakfast was great, so was our overall stay at ChΓ’teau Tivoli. The interaction with Kelly and other guests is really nice. My husband made good use of wine & cheese in the afternoon. 100% recommendations!

I grew up in an old Victorian on California Street, so visiting here felt like coming home. Except this β€œhome” was elegant, had a fascinating history and is filled with quirky, fun antiques and art. Staff are lovely, the rooms (I stayed in two different ones) are spotlessly clean and the beds are COMFORTABLE! How rare is that? This is a destination B&B and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

A really beautiful hotel, with fantastic service and huge, delicious, freshly-made breakfasts. In a nice neighborhood, convenient to many attractions, and the staff is so friendly and helpful!

Staff and their service is beyond A+, the best there can be. The food is freshly made and delicious, then served by pleasant and courteous hosts. The price is reasonable for the location. Rooms are quaint with a homely feel. The paid and safe parking lot is 2 blocks away. Several good restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood is clean and safe.

A very cute B&B. We loved the breakfast at the shared table, and the house itself was very cute. Very sad we were just passing through and didn't have the time to chill and enjoy such a beautiful Victorian house. It's close to an express bus line but is a bit far from the BART.

We had an amazing experience during our stay at Chateau Tivoli. We love historic spaces and Chateau Tivoli was such a pleasure to stay at during our trip. The space and decor are incredible. The staff was lovely. The service was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The location was convenient. This is the only place I'd ever stay in San Francisco. It was everything we hoped for and more.

I took a Amtrak train across the country to stay at the Chateau Tivoli In San Francisco. I left some items on one of the trains and asked the staff to please accept an overnight Fedex from Amtrak. They graciously did and emailed me when it arrived. I loved this B&B. The antiques, the rooms, the sitting rooms downstairs, the wine and cheese at night, the breakfast..all were just fabulous. I loved the Aimee Crocker room I stayed in. Cozy with amazing wallpaper and comfy bed. I didn't want to leave. I would go back to visit again in a heart beat. Thank you for everything.

We absolutely loved our stay here! So much so, we decided to stay a second time before we left San Francisco. I’m still dreaming about the breakfast Sav prepared for us each day! The quiche with salad was our favorite and the fact it comes with warm scones, jam and a fruit parfait is just such a nice touch. We also had the Italian eggs, which were also really lovely. Sav, one of the managers, made us feel so welcome from the beginning to end of each stay. The entire building is so beautifully decorated and lovely to sit in the main area for the complimentary wine and cheese time from 4-6. Honestly, all of the small touches just made this the best B&B we’ve ever stayed at. All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough, the friendly staff, food, location and absolute beauty of the building was second to none. Be sure to stay here if you’re visiting San Fran

Friends stayed there, went for the post game gathering. S T U N N I N G 🀯 From the stained-glass, to the mosaics, to the sculptures, to antiques it was a beautiful, time frozen building! We literally walked through with mouths agape in silent wonder! Absolutely gorgeous building at 2 in the morning, I cannot imagine what it looks like in the light of day! Mark Twain Suite, should tell you all you need to know.... 🀨 Actual guest experience: "The staff at Tivoli made the whole experience delightful from advice on which room to book over the phone to the homemade breakfast in the morning before check out. We immediately felt welcomed upon check in and even did a photo shoot with the person showing us our room because she liked our pink fur jacket so much." Perfect for couples or people looking for a Grand first impression of San Francisco! Not cheap, definitely worth it!

The staff were so nice and really go above and beyond. The rooms were lovely. The included breakfast was always delicious. After the experience we had here, anytime we have to stay in San Francisco, we plan to book here.

My wife and I stayed 1 night together with our 19yearold daughter in the double room (lily langtry) downstairs. It is most charming, dated but restored with love and eye for detail. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and make a great breakfast. The house is situated perfectly, we walked to the park, coffeebars and restaurants.

This place is way bigger than any hotel room and very clean. The bed was comfortable and soft as I hit its surface. There were plenty of snacks available in the mini-fridge for when you get hungry during your trip. It felt like we were the only people in this entire building!
