Such a cool bar, can't believe I hadn't been here despite living so close. The only reason I take a star off is because we didn't know that the service charge was 21.7%, and only noticed the charge on card later. It would've been nice to know in advance given we also tipped on top of this pretty nicely. The entrance is tiny and kinda deceiving because inside the place is huge with plenty options to sit, stay at the bar or be near the dance floor. I made a reservation on a Friday for the same evening but when I arrived they had no seats left, they probably didn't receive my reservation in time. Despite that, the host was kind enough to find our group a seating spot, so brownie points for friendliness right there! Note that it Friday Eve so the bar is pretty full and yet our whole experience that evening was made because of how friendly the entire staff was, which happens rarely at a bar! The music was slightly loud so not your place, if you wanna just chit-chat So we got seated, and the server brought drinks menu. They didn't have food that evening due to an event which she was sorry for, but they brought us their on-the-house truffle popcorns which I loved! The guy who made those came around to check-in twice and was super chatty and friendly as well, I forget his name but he mentioned we will be impressed by his horse-riding haha. :) Coming to drinks, great cocktails! I loved my tequila infused with spicy jalapenos and citrus, but on the second round I went with the bartender's choice, which for that evening was 'Wild Card'. Turns out the drink was an amazing selection and nutty flavored, which for $7 was a steal! I'm definitely bringing my gang again, so should you!

Went there for the second time on May 14, 2022. This is a nice club, it has a cozy subterranean feel to it and top notch sound system. They don't play the music too loud either so you can still talk to people. Cocktails are expensive, like over $15. They have two dance floors, the techno room feels kind of dead with only a few people dancing and the music is lame. The other room is urban and pop music. Some of the music is good there but most of it is corny and cheesy. Interesting crowd, mostly just normal average people, so its not pretentious which is kind of cool. Even people in their 40's and 50's go there to go dancing.

Hidden gem. Good music and vibe. Stopped by on our 10 yr anniversary and they were super friendly!

A nice, spacious bar with good cocktails and fresh, unlimited truffle popcorn. Servers were really nice, and the space, although dimly lit, was comfortable for hanging out and chatting with friends.

Fun nightclub featuring a cage for go-go dancers. Came here for a friend's birthday and he reserved a couple of tables, for which we needed to arrive at 11pm on a Saturday night. We got one of the pre-made cocktails and a bottle of grey goose which was plenty for 8 of us. There's a small dance floor with the DJ as well as a back area. Club attire enforced. The DJ was good and played a mix of hip hop/EDM.

Fantastic bar and lounge with delicious craft cocktails and bar snacks. Live jazz music on Tuesdays. Comfortable seating, friendly staff, comfortable ambience, and great Void Soundsystem.

although i got through the bouncer & paid for entry with no issues, when i got inside, a security guard told me that i had to take off my head wrapping/hijab... i find this to be extremely discriminatory. too bad cause i actually enjoyed the venue outside of this interaction.

Well crafted cocktails and friendly staff. Try the "Larcenist" smoked cocktail! Love the presentation. Would certainly come here again in the future. Nice atmosphere!

I had a great experience coming into hawthorn this past Friday night. Security was friendly, courteous and attentive. I came in around 10pm, when the club started to fill in a bit more and I had perfect service. Bartenders had great suggestions for some tasty craft cocktails, the dj’s were great, particularly in the back room which lended itself well to more house/edm music. It was also really fun chatting it up with some of the bottle servers, who were hosting my friends birthday party. They did a great job, and were prompt to ensure that all our friends were taken care of, had fresh ice, mixers and cocktails. If you’re looking for a fun nightclub, with great dj’s and service - but with professional craft bar presentation, then this is the place to go!

SOOO FUN! we had no trouble with bouncers or anything but we also came pretty early, around 9ish on a saturday night. the employees were really sweet and friendly! the dance floor is small so it gets pretty crowded to the point i kept on tripping and bumping into people, but the music rocks! they played a lot of pop and hip hop that had everybody dancing and singing, the vibes were great. they also had dancers come out later which was super exciting! the bathrooms were nice & clean as well. we left around midnight after it had gotten pretty packed, and since you have to go downstairs it was very stuffy from all the people so i wound up having an asthma attack—so i’d be careful and bring an inhaler if you have asthma as the air flow isn’t fantastic. but overall we had an amazing experience, best club we found in the area!

The dance floor is too small for my taste. They play okay music I guess. But for $15 entrance fee it’s not worth it. There are better bars in SF downtown than this.

The Hip Hop music was good, the EDM beats was just not for me and felt more like a trance music, but the customer service quality was top notch. I lost my wallet, and the securities found it for me in the middle of the crowds! Thankyou!

Went to Hawthorn last night -(which used to be the 'go-to-spot')- but we were shocked at how far they've fallen! It sounded like someone was playing a Spotify 90's 'club-mix' and I heard several people describe the scene as looking like 'dorksville in here tonight'. After looking around for a bit, maybe there was a 'Beavis and Butthead' convention going on. We looked at each other, shook our heads in disappointment and split early! Hope they survive. We won't be back.

It's been a while since I've been to Hawthorn....what a fantastic spot downtown it is! The space was beautiful, clean and the cocktail program was spot on. I had a seasonal rosemary infused drink and it was absolutely delicious. Upon arrival, the door man greeted us with a smile and the service and staff throughout the night were friendly, accommodating and nice. The dancer/performers were exquisite! Their costuming was sexy, yet elegant and chic and created such a beautiful tone and atmosphere. The sound system is incredible and the DJ's played all the hits and kept me and my small group of friends dancing almost the entire night! It was great being able to go back and forth between the two rooms they have with two different sets of DJs and music styles. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fun place with great music/dancing, ambience and amazing drinks!! I'll be back again soon.

My company hosted a corporate event at Hawthorn. From the moment we sent in an inquiry about the space to the last minute of the event night, we were so well taken care of by Charlotte, Chadwick and the entire Hawthorn team! The space is beautiful and has a warm vibe. The drinks were unique and perfectly crafted. We really enjoyed our time at the party and received great reviews from our clients. I can't recommend this venue enough!

Had another awesome evening Hawthorn last weekend! Cool crowd and staff was amazing and bottle service was on point. Liked the cocktails and vibe was great as always. Be back soon!

This place is a hidden gem. Very easy to miss when walking by. Our waitress was amazing and I'm very sad I didn't catch her name (she has a butterfly tattoo on her hand). Every drink she recommended was superb. If you love bourbon I strongly recommend trying The Larcenist. Now if you are like me and like something a little fruitier I recommen The Good Seed. It's like Namaste in a glass, sooo good.

I celebrated my daughter getting married aka Mother of the Bride Party with my girlfriends and this was the perfect place. Great ambiance, the seating selections are top notch and and the customer service was on point before and during my night out. The bottle service girls were very attentive and professional and David (the doorman/security) was amazing, he checked on us and made sure we were safe at the end of the night while waiting on our Lyft. The crowd is good and the DJ in the Hip-Hop/top 40s section had everybody on their feet. Bottle service is reasonable and worth every penny.

It turns into a dance club at night, amazing music and crowd. A well spent Friday night.

Had a blast here! The vibes are so fun. Classy, swanky decor, awesome danceable set, friendly staff, super clean, beautiful decor, and delicious drinks! I cannot wait to come back and bring back other friends!

I had a great time for my friends Birthday party dancing to excellent music until I went and asked some questions and was asked to leave I did. Thank God the party contained till closing and they picked me up down the street at the great Pizza place.

I met a group of friends at this location around 10:30pm on a Saturday night and it was just $10 to get in. To hang your coats they charge $3. Overall the atmosphere was classy and nice! The Dj that night played a good variation of music (pop,R&B,reggaeton). The bartenders were pretty fast with the drinks but some of them didn't know how to make certain drinks. One of the bartender guys had a slight attitude every time we ordered so we decided to stop ordering at one point. Drinks were a bit overpriced but honestly expected since its in the city. For two shots it was $33. For 4 cocktail drinks it was about $64. The security was nice and also offered some flipflops to a friend that couldn't walk in heels anymore. Dance floor is small and around many reserved tables. Bathroom was clean and not crowded on the girls side. Overall, I would come back again with some friends.

We hosted a client appreciation happy hour event at Hawthorn and were thoroughly happy with the entire evening. Chadwick & Charlotte were amazing to work with and were able to help bring my vision to life perfectly. To start off, the venue is absolutely beautiful with such unique décor and state-of-the art sound system. To go along with our Cuban theme, we hired Imangiere to cater our event. George was so helpful such a pleasure to work with to plan out our menu and Joseph was so professional and helpful during set up and throughout the entire event. The food was delicious! The floral that Jola from Blooming Alley created was gorgeous and perfectly complimented our theme. Our cigar roller, Patricio, was a huge hit as he rolled cigars for our guests. The DJ played the perfect blend of music complementing our theme. The highlight of our event were our Carmen Mirandas! Tracy is super-talented with costume design and make-up. Mark Sandstorm Photography does beautiful work and did an amazing job capturing the evening so well. All the bartenders, door staff, and DJ were fabulous & friendly. I highly recommend hosting a corporate event at Hawthorn. They are super professional, easy to work with, affordable and flexible. You won’t be disappointed!
