Pretty sweet venue for all sorts of events and festivities. Fantastic city views guaranteed. The event space is pretty big - a large and wide room with direct access to toilets on the right and the spacious patio on the left. You'll have to enter through the Metreon though, along with many visitors of the cinema located in the same building. Parking is easy in the 5th and Mission garage.

Another strong showing of San Francisco's overestimation of how much merchants are willing to give just to do business in SF. The place seems only halfway utilized, and halfway occupied all the time. But it's a cool place to take a minute to relax. Cool tea joint, pretty good food joints and a coffee robot all give it a sorta Japanese suburban neighborhood shopping center kinda feel.

Been here for the annual Bordeaux tasting. The venue is well maintained and the night view is awesome!

Beautiful food court, great movie theaters This mall's food court has great variety, including poke bowls, boba, a ramen vending machine, and pizza. There are also Lemonade, Starbucks, and Super Duper Burgers locations part of the mall but outside the food court. The food court is a great place to get something to eat before or after seeing a movie upstairs, in AMC Theatres. There are 16 theatres and they range in size, which allows showings of very popular movies and sometimes indie or foreign movies.

Great entertainment centre, cinemas and a food court with beer specials. Also a cross roads to the park and the main shopping area. Free with here, if like myself, you find that your foreign mobile doesn’t work in the US. Plenty seating area to work on computers.

This is not a full indoor mall. Its two attractions are a cinemaplex (which does include a nice 3d theatre) and a small but decent food court. There's a good Target in the same building which you can access without entering the mall. I live two blocks away and can't remember the last time I had a reason to enter the mall.

This is my most favorite place to catch a movie, get a yummy bite to eat and hit the Target store upstairs. The Metreon building is awesome it's modern, the architecture is awesome, high ceilings plenty of natural light in the dining area , the building shares the space with yerba Buena Park you can literally catch a movie go shopping eat a delicious meal , and with so many choices, the whole family can eat. After all that you can exit the dining area and enjoy the beautiful park. There is green space a fountain or something like that and on the weekends there's always some kind of entertainment or music!

The metreon is a few different stores and restaurants all together. The main store is a Target though. It is very clean and actually has bathrooms you can use too. There is a nice little park too.

This mall is a FAR cry from its glory days of the early 2000s when it first opened. It lost the PlayStation store, the Discovery store, the Bandai shop, the comic book shop, its DVD store, it's arcade and so much more. It's a mere shadow of what it once was and will never be as good as that again. The only thing okay is the food options and the movie theater, but that doesn't mean anything due to how bad San Francisco has become since then. Avoid at all costs.

I shopped there and was a little annoyed, as the sales rep forgot to take off the security tag on my hat, so I had to venture back down there, only to subsequently lose it. I'm not happy, lol. But overall shopping in Target was cool and I got everything I was looking for.

If you're like me and had great childhood memories here. Like when the Sony store and Discovery store existed. Then be prepared to be disappointed. Now it's a hollow shell of what it used to be. Other than the movie theater, everything has been replaced with an overpriced food court

This is a huge target!!! They literally have everything and then some.i the as in heaven! But I do have to say I understand why the security is on high alert, but I was a bit off put by having multiple people follow me and my mini dachshund around while we shopped. But I guess we showed them in the end we were just Lucky Lou's at how big the Target store was. And of course spent too much money as I always do in target.

Great venue for a wine tasting.

  • 5/5 Paul H. 4 years ago on Google
Less than 3 blocks from BART AT POWELL is a outside garden, cinema, and shopping. Great wine events held on the 4th floor and food by the cinema is good even if you are not planning on a movie.

Great event venue. Very tall ceilings. Outdoor space with view.

To my knowledge there are only three metre ons they were installed in different cities at a great expense part of the experiment failed but new people moved in it's interesting the food in the food court is great! The security well they had a couple of shootings but it's a big city. it's a great place to shop, the stores I first class, and the eats well just say it in one word they're all great a variety of cuisine well-lit Space Age eating areas and good security.

It's a great place has wonderful selections of food from all different cultures. It's also attached to an AMC IMAX movie theater as well as yerba buena gardens. And if your down with Chipotle it's right next door. But I would check out super duper Burger first

  • 5/5 Rocio P. 2 years ago on Google
This place was awesome. Fantástic view of the city over the gardens. Great for médium sized events.

  • 5/5 James 1 year ago on Google
Large screens. Has an IMAX. New electronic seats that recline like a LaZBoy. Assigned seating. Standard theater but higher rating because it's in the center of downtown so it's easy to get to and in the same building as City Target meaning you can save on snack costs.

  • 3/5 Saad A. 1 year ago on Google
Popcorn was burnt and stale. Pizza was burnt. But the seats were relatively comfy and the IMAX visuals + Dolby audio are great. For anything besides IMAX you're paying twice the national average for an aggressively mid experience

Walked pass on the way to SF MOMA thinking of having lunch at the Food Court, didn't have much choices so we went across the street to Mel's drive-in instead 👌🏻cool mall with a theater and Target though. Good place to shop and kill time.

  • 5/5 Simone S. 6 months ago on Google
The movie theater here is amazing. Recliner seats. Standard snacks. They sell mozzarella sticks here, I love that. Courteous staff. And clean restrooms.

  • 5/5 Richard B. 8 months ago on Google
The Dolby theater is just great. Friendly staff and amazing desert popcorn make it the goto for an amazing movie experience.

  • 2/5 Kleonike T. 6 months ago on Google
Too many junk food stands and useless other items. Why are they promoting all that so exaggeratedly?! You have to "climb" to the 3rd floor for the movie theatre. Good location though!.

I only go to Target there occasionally. The movie theater is one of those opulent San Francisco movie theaters thatI believe is bound to close soon. Good luck!

i needed a drill to move my TV's wall mount in my bedroom. the staff is always very helpful and friendly. but I feel gross and dirty shopping at a big box store. they should definitely pay their employees more.

  • 5/5 P. D. 2 years ago on Google
The store was well kept, clean and has a wonderful staff. Unfortunately the most basic of products, like toothpaste are locked up due to astronomical theft. I could believe I witnessed a snacth and grab while I was there. San Francisco's theft problem is very real, but it's not a reflection of the store itself.

  • 5/5 Corey P. 2 years ago on Google
So great to get back into the theaters. Seems most people are following safety guidelines and Dolby Digital theater has amazing sounds, picture and leather reclining seats!

The metron is great. It has an excellent Park area outside of it, which I believe is actually better than the theater complex. There's a waterfall type of structure that has engraved quotes from Dr Reverend Martin Luther King point doctor looking and and inspiring. The Sears complex and shopping, including target, is a little dated. When it was first built it was it was wonderful. Now it's simply mediocre.

No clothing stores short of Target, but it has the AMC theatres and a darn yummy food court that you can get your grub from and stroll out to the park to eat under the sun while breathing fresh air. There are ramped entries. But on one for wheelchair access, one of the entries would require a second hand to get you in and out of the lift. Hey, at least it's there. (I'm the one in the chair.)

Pro: theaters are clean, not ridiculously cold & good quality seating/screening Cons: The line for snacks can get a little long and generally only 2 people will be working the front so arrive early.

  • 5/5 Brisa R. 2 years ago on Google
I love the large two tier Target store; as well as the Starbucks which is inside the Target on the ground floor, it's a fun experience getting to shop and look around at so much that has very reasonable prices in almost every section from electronics to groceries to clothing for kids, men, and women! They definitely cover all genres and I truly enjoy my shopping experience everytime I get to go!

A pretty nice downtown mall, with a bunch of restaurants (including a Bonchon) and a very large, nice AMC inside.

  • 5/5 Tiffany C. 1 year ago on Google
There is a delicious candy kiosk in the middle of the Metreon Mall and they sell those gigantic, egg-shaped gummy candies! Yum! There's also a robotic arm for juices that will soon open, and a Bon Chon inside.

This store is very clean and you definitely feel safe shopping here. The place is very beautiful and the staffs were very polite and friendly. They have very nice quality products, that every person can return back to. The guards and other staffs are friendly. It observes health protocols properly. So, I enjoyed shopping and strolling here. Of course the Cinema is nice. The parking space is not so crowded too. I love strolling here at Metreon and see what's new to this shopping mall. I will recommend this shop to all of my family and friends, especially the stores, restaurants and cinema.

Ita very easy to find, take care as the homeless are camped out virtually in front of the door. There is a food court in this building with about 7-9 places to grab something to eat. The theater is upstairs, ather is an IMAX theater and a REAL 3D screen with reclining chairs. I belieber there are at leastn15 screens here. Elevator, escalator and regular stairs are all there.6

Seats are luxurious with recliner. The movies admission person was helpful to accommodate my non-ticketed daughter's assistance in seating and snacks. Of course, my daughter left theater as soon her job completed!

I attended an event at the City View and had a great experience. Here's why: 1) Location: It's centrally located and an easy walk from many hotels. 2) Views: They have a beautiful outdoor patio with amazing views of downtown San Francisco. 3) Food: The catering was pretty good for a conference/event space. 4) Space: It's pretty large and can be used in a variety of ways.

They're closing at 6pm due to rampant theft (apparently) and it just doesn't feel very welcoming anymore. I guess it's understandable but not everyone is there to shoplift; the paying customers should be treated with a little more respect. Every five minutes from 5:30 on the announcements grew increasingly terse; they were politely asking us to leave at 5:35 and by 5:55 (I was in line for at least 20 minutes) they were turning off the lights and saying "the store is now closed-u must leave the store now!". It left a bad taste in my mouth and I could tell I wasn't the only one.

I’ve come a few times since the pandemic calmed down, and they are always out of at least half the snacks. I’m just not going to bother anymore. More enjoyable to stay home.

I always enjoy catching movies at this cinema. There is a food court on the first floor with a good choice of restaurants. Tickets can be purchased from machines on the first floor or through the service counter just before the entrance to the cinemas. Seats are very comfortable.

  • 4/5 Lam D. 1 year ago on Google
I wish there were more food choices around the movie theater but the facility itself is nice with a big grass lawn out front for eating outside.

  • 5/5 Liliana N. 1 year ago on Google
Three of us went to see Black Adam on the big screen. For a Saturday night it was surprisingly quiet with less than 50% of the seats filled. We thought it was nice but prec-covid the theater would have been full.

Very cool place, got a few cool restaurants, but the place I miss the most they used to have the PlayStation store today people play games or whatever for free I like that but overall it's cool and I got a nice little part in the back and it be clean.

Wasn't me was my boyfriend . I am able to comment and I love that area and shopping or eating in their food mall. Target is one of my favorite go to

  • 5/5 Aurelia V. 1 year ago on Google
Decent food court, great for getting cheap lunch and eating outside in the park. One of the better theaters to watch movies. Does have quite a few homeless wandering around though.

  • 3/5 Ben M. P. 1 year ago on Google
The metreon has come and gone over the years ranging in desirability from fantastic to absolutely abysmal. Right now there are a few decent fast food eateries and a relatively nice movie theater, the AMC. The best thing about the metreon is its location and it's upstairs view. Amazing view of Yerba Buena gardens.

  • 5/5 Larrolyn F. 2 years ago on Google
I remember visiting the metreon when I was younger, but after a few years of not being in California, I found it fun to revisit in time to see Spider-Man no wait from home. It was of course extremely busy as other people were also there to see Spider-Man, and to go shopping in the Target. But it wasn't that many people that we had to traverse through. I was a little bit nervous, especially since we're still in the pandemic time, but it seem that everyone still had a lot of space to navigate and not be too close to someone else. Not to mention it seems like a lot of people were still very much abiding to the 6 ft rule and wearing a mask. If anything, I would definitely remind people to make sure they have their vaccination card, though not every place is asking for it. Most places are. It's sort of sad to see that some people are still not vaccinated, but it's even worse to see when someone is vaccinated and has completely forgotten their card. Are the take a picture of it so that it's on your phone at all time or just have it in the purse or bag that you use the most.
