By far this is the worse place I have ever stayed. I was on a 2 day trip to pick up my son from CSU East Bay university thinking this place was a good deal and close the school. It was really bad. The lobby has a very strong smell of food. It appeared that behind the front desk there was an office or room and they were cooking food. The smell was so strong I could smell it up to the second floor. The stairway was so dirty, it appeared that it had not been cleaned in months. I walked up to my room and the carpet was filthy, trash cans were piling. Fortunately, the room smelled clean, but the bathroom floor was a bit sticky. Not to mention that the toiled handle was missing, not good. My family and me made four guest, there were only 2 bath towels. These towels were old and ripping. I asked the guy at the reception for 2 extra towels and he said he couldn't give more towels because we were checking out that day. I asked housekeeping for extra towels and she told me she couldn't give me more towels because they didn't have enough towels. This was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard. Overall, I give this hotel the worse rating because the customer service, cleanliness and the flexibility to try to accommodate their guests is plain awful. I will not recommend this place to anyone!

Made a reservation through booking.com and i was unsure if the room came with kitchen amenities so my partner called the hotel directly to ask. They told us on the phone that all their rooms have these amenities. It's not uncommon for these things to not be listed in the description for a room, as I have stayed at a different chain that had a fridge and microwave despite it not being listed in the amenities. Upon checking in and immediately requesting a refund, we were told that we could only be refunded for 4 out of 5 days and that it was our fault for not booking a premium room. Although the manager did offer to provide us with a microwave and fridge for the full 5 day stay, he stated that he would not accommodate us in this manner if we chose to only stay for the one night they wanted to charge us for. On booking.com AND the receipt i was given (which i had to request, mind you) it was stated that we would not be charged for a cancellation. On top of it all, their chip reader did not work and they told me it was my card that didn't work( not true), forcing me to make a trip to the bank just for them to take money from me for nothing. Don't waste your time with this place, terrible customer service. We contacted corporate who told us they will refund us for the money this place is trying to scam us for. Really hoping it gets settled as i have had pleasant experiences with other red roof inns.

They are thieves!! Said my card didn't work and said charge was voided out, it wasn't and I paid cash for my room. They got paid twice due to the " receipt " they gave me said nothing about paying cash!! Don't stay here they will rob you if you are a good person. They have truck parking is why I went there to begin with. Every trucker will be warned to stay away from your motel!!!

So it hasn’t even been a full night here yet and the stay here has been awful. First the guy behind the counter yells at me and my bf that they only take major bank cards… I’m sorry when did they stop takin cash…? And secondly it would have been nice to know ahead of time that the hot water wasn’t working.. this place had stains on the towels and the vending machines never work here. Horrible stay here

Surprisingly clean, quiet, and modern for Red Roof Inn's reputation. There's no elevator and I didn't think there was a microwave in the room but they had one downstairs. It definitely felt worth the price, really comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Everything had a modern, updated look. AC unit wasn't working but it wasn't too hot that day. The one thing I would suggest is better signage to let you know they lock the office door in between customers. That was confusing, but besides that was a good stay. Indian guy with glasses in the morning, Mexican cleaner with gold grill was nice too. Thanks.

You get what you pay for! The first room I was given had cigarette burns(holes)all over the blanket, and a weird smell permeated the room. I moved to a different room. All seemed well until 4:45am. I turned on the lights to use the bathroom, and guess what I saw running across the floor? Yes, folks, they have ROACHES! I immediately shook out my clothes and checked my bags. Roaches are famous for hitching a ride to your house and breeding like rabbits. I needed more sleep, but chose to cut my stay short. To make matters even more interesting, there was a police officer near the lobby door taking a report from a couple that looked like they were out of the tv show 'Duck Dynasty.' The poor overnight clerk didn't understand English enough to offer me an apology or a refund. I forgot to mention that the towels had stains and smelled like they weren't washed. I won't be staying here again. My advice: spend the extra $30 and book a Holiday Inn Express.

I've only been here 30 minutes and I've already seen what looks like a homeless guy hanging out in the entryway to the only entrance which isn't locked. Blankets with black stains and holes, a nice big room with no furniture in it looking kind of distopian, laminate floor tiles coming up off the ground in the room... As far as I can tell all of these good reviews are from at least a couple years ago. This location must've been purchased by owners that simply don't care to reinvest into their business, and boy does it show. It'll work for the night, but I wouldn't suggest it.

This place is filthy, there’s cockroaches in the rooms, they don’t clean well here. No amenities for guest. Management is horrible, another person that has poor business ethics. He’s a paranoid delusional person that’s probably better off at home. Stuck up, irrational, doesn’t know how to speak to people. If he doesn’t know you have a room here, he assumes you’re homeless ( even though there’s homeless people living in the motel basically. ) and tries to run you off the property. The lobby is locked. Forcing you to go outside in the cold just to ask questions.

The hotel is right on industrial next to the freeway, the hallway to the room looks like a dive hotel, it's basically a truck stop hotel. The hotel will only give out passwords for two devices. In 2023 this is unacceptable. I ended up using my hotspot due to the internet getting bogged down. The cleanliness of hotel on the hallways was disgusting. There was no elevator. No elevator, we had a lot of fun carrying my my luggage up stairs. No Blankets! COLD at night!! Next day - we had to ask for blankets.

Our truck was stolen from the parking lot. The staff was rude and did not care at all. No manager is ever around or present to help. Great place to stay if you want to get your vehicle stolen. Horrible hotel.

Room smelled bad and the ventilation didn't work well. Although, blankets were clean. No hangers or fridge available in the room, and the vending machine was also out of order. We didn't find were to get some water, although the ice maker seemed to be working.

I wouldn’t recommend to stay here in the room. When you go to check out they don’t clean the rooms they don’t offer free continental breakfast and they cuss you out using swearwords and they don’t refund money back and they slam doors and the lobby is always locked The hallway stinks so there’s the front office you have to go through the side door just to get to the little window just returning your key the manager very rude person

Title: Disappointing Experience at Red Roof: Unaccommodating Customer Service I recently had the unfortunate experience of booking a room at the Red Roof Inn, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, this hotel left me feeling frustrated and utterly disappointed. Firstly, let me address the issue that set the tone for this disastrous stay. Due to a mix-up in my scheduling, I accidentally booked a room for the wrong day. I immediately contacted the hotel to rectify the situation, hoping they would understand and accommodate my request to switch the reservation. However, to my dismay, the staff at Red Roof showed zero empathy or willingness to assist. They callously informed me that they do not offer any room switches or refunds for such errors. Now, I understand that this policy might be mentioned somewhere on their website, but as someone who booked through Priceline, I did not have the opportunity to familiarize myself with these terms. What truly adds insult to injury is the hotel's abysmal customer service. The indifference displayed by the staff throughout my interactions was shocking. I was met with dismissive attitudes and a lack of professionalism. It felt as though they couldn't care less about my concerns or my overall experience at their establishment. A little compassion and understanding would have gone a long way in improving this situation, but alas, it was nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, the Red Roof Inn failed to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness and comfort. The room I was assigned appeared to have been neglected for ages. The sheets were stained, the carpet was filthy, and the bathroom was in dire need of a deep clean. It was evident that the management had little regard for the upkeep of their facilities. Overall, my stay at Red Roof Inn was a complete and utter disaster. From their unaccommodating policies to their appalling customer service and lackluster cleanline

Very nice room when they give you a clean one. Best draperies I've ever seen in a Redroof Inn room. VERY nice BASIC furniture in the room itself. Nice touch on the modern stylish sink. Having wash clothes and towels in the room would also be nice. After speaking with housekeeping they brought me hand towels. Guess they do provide was clothes. NOTE: A sign on the office door says entrance around the corner. Nope! that was the entrance. Very confused. Now that I'm in my room I'm comfortable.

I was going to give this place a great review until I met the lady that works there during the day. I stayed there for one night and everything was ok. Abdul the manager was very helpful. The morning after my stay, I extended for another night around 8am & thought everything was okay until i got a call from animal control saying red roof inn called regarding my dog because i was suppose to check out. RED ROOF INN NEVER CALLED ME PRIOR TO CALLING ANIMAL CONTROL, so i call the location to see whats going on because i extended my stay early in the morning with abdul. I called and she yelled at me , very rude lady, didnt even give me a chance to speak, hung up the phone , told me to get my things and get out and never come back. So i pull up to the location and SHOW HER THE RECEIPT saying i paid in cash. And she was proved wrong. Very very bad service. She even hung up on customer service MULTIPLE times. I highly suggest not staying here specially if you have a pet.

Each of our recent stays were quite pleasant. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Ahmed was particularly helpful during our last stay and our family is very thankful.

Because of its location this is my usual choice for a stay when I'm in the Hayward Area, the rooms are always clean, spacious and have a fridge and microwave. The daytime staff is what has kept me coming back, they are super friendly, punctual and accommodate my needs with a smile. The night time staff however,is the total opposite most times, maybe because they have added stress of night watch or something but its been bad enough service sometimes that I have gone elsewhere. Other than that, for what you pay, its just what's to be expected. Best part is they are dog friendly!!!and even have a nice lawn area for them.

everything is normal but what spoils it and makes it uncomfortable is the receptionist who is there in the afternoons, treats people badly, calls you or even goes and bothers you to your room simply because from time to time you leave the hotel. I was 3 days in the place, and EVERY DAY he called my phone and my door at least 2 times.

I wish i could give 0 stars this place is a complete joke, the manager hung up angrily on me after I called to verify a confirmation. The said manager became aggressive and stated he had more people and couldn’t deal with us. he insisted that we had to pay cash and cancel our non refundable reservation because he was incompetent and couldn’t see the reservation. When we said no he hung up, we called back and he started becoming more aggressive and saying that we were now blacklisted, when we told him he was very unprofessional. I have no idea how this place is still in business please save your money and time and do not stay here. I will be reporting this hotel and the scams they do to the BBB. this place is notorious for scamming people out of there money.

The entire place smelled of some kind of incense that made me sick. We checked the sheets they had yellow and off color stains on them. While changing those the bottom cover sheet had a large yellow stain, blood smears and hair on it. The mattress had yellow stains on it at both ends. We got our money back and left. You all need to check your house keeping i wouldnt walk in your rooms with boots on much less bare foot. The whole room was a bio hazard.

Dodgy place. Should call itself a motel with the low level of quality it offers. The room we rented had no actual “peep hole” to see who was through the door - it was just a flat out hole in the door that can be looked through both ways, no privacy in the room. While the room smelt strongly of cleaner, it in itself, did not look “clean clean” if that makes sense. I could see faint tracks of dirt on the wall from (maybe?) scrubbing. Part of the curtain was dislodged from the track on the window. We fixed it ourselves. The toilet paper was already used and nearly done in the bathroom. There was a hair that didn’t belong to either of us on the shower curtain. The water pressure is a joke. The temperature settings of the water in the shower is Very finicky. First I got nothing but hot water, even when I would turn it off and back on at what was supposed to be cold, Then it wouldn’t heat up to hot or warm, it would only stay at cold. Eventually it would partially warm up enough to take a semblance of a shower with low water pressure and bad temperature control. The things that made me want to throw in the towel, was the Actual towel. They offered a bare minimum of two “long” towels for the shower, two face towels and one hand towel. I reached to use a face towel and it already has literal Paint Stains on it. It was completely off-putting and I wanted to leave immediately. The whole floor is some sort of wood laminate. No rug/carpet. Parts of the “wood” floor were chipped and unfixed. All of the furniture looked like it was bought at auction or at some secondhand store. They were scruffed, scratched, and not entirely clean tbh. The lights were all bright. There was no softer lights to create any ambience, just the harsh strong lights. Also - there was open wires where I Think was supposed to be another ceiling light? (They’re all ceiling lights at full brightness, no lamps or shades or dimmer lights). It was extremely off-putting to see the open wires right over the bed. The bed itself was mediocre. There were three flat, skinny (pretty much useless) pillows there for a big king size mattress. It was definitely a disappointment to see and feel. None of the staff wore masks, yet they have signs for the guests to wear masks and social distance. There are no elevators, so if you’re on the second floor like we were, be smart about how you take your bags up and down. They also only allow you to come in to the inn using the front door only. The other doors are only used as exits even if they’re closer to where your room is located. NO amenities (no pool, no gym, no microwave, no mini fridge, no vending machine, etc) Minimal towels, no iron, etc. Everything feels or looks like it’s been used for a long time before (toilet paper, towels, furniture..) Questionable location, bad quality hotel- should be knocked down to a motel. It gives Red Roof Inn a bad name tbh because I’ve stayed in their hotels before and they were pretty average. This Red Roof Inn in Hayward, Ca. is definitely a failing grade. Would NOT recommend.

Opt for the more expensive rooms upstairs cause when u get the cheaper rooms downstairs there is no hit eater I waited 30 minutes and still no hot water told the desk guy dk if they fixed it yet. But over all really good hotel to stay at. Will be back.

We had an RV breakdown and stayed here for 2 nights while repairs were made. This is not a 5- star facility- that said the room was large and very clean. The bed was firm. The room was very comfortable and the manager was helpful and accommodated our need for a 1st floor room due to an old dog who cannot climb stairs. If you need comfort and are on a budget this is what you need.
