Insect Zoo

Zoo

👍 Very cool place to visit! Inside it's a bit creepy, a lot of tagging around and some odd stuff you'll find there! The place is abandoned not many people go there less at night, you'll should find someone walking around though. People often mention insects, cool, creepy,

Mostly kid-friendly. I think for some legal reasons they can’t have some of the more dangerous insects here, but still fascinating.

Great zoo in a zoo. Lots of interesting insects. Indoors. Include a small table/chairs and few torn-up books for random reading time. Right outside is a circle of sand for play.

Small but fascinating, good place to keep toddlers contained but also engaged. The staff take some of the bugs out from time to time and allow you to pet them.

It's a great place for the whole family to come together. There are many animals, not many in number, but educational. More animal stories can be added to let everyone know more about their origins.

The Insect Zoo at the SF Zoo is an absolute must-see for anyone with an interest in the fascinating world of insects. From the brightly colored butterflies to the creepy crawly spiders, there is something for everyone to discover and learn about. One of the most thrilling exhibits is the hive of killer bees, where visitors can observe these notorious insects up close in their natural habitat. It's a mesmerizing and slightly terrifying experience to watch the bees move around the hive, working together with such precision and efficiency. Another standout exhibit is the snow bee display, which showcases these resilient creatures that have adapted to survive in some of the harshest environments on earth. It's incredible to see the delicate beauty of the snow bees, and to learn about their unique survival strategies. Overall, the Insect Zoo is a fascinating and educational experience that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the world of insects. While some exhibits may be intimidating, the staff is knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the amazing world of insects!

I only really discovered the Insect Zoo about two years ago. The exhibits are upgraded regularly. The photography can be challenging.

I was excited to see this zoo but I would expect San Francisco could have a better zoo than this. It's ok but a bit of a letdown in my opinion
