The
only
thing
that
wasn't
muddled
at
Presidio
Social
Club
Saturday
night
was
my
Old
Fashioned
-
and
that,
in
fact,
should
have
been.
The
ambience
of
this
tucked
away
spot
set
the
tone
for
a
great
meal
but
it
wasn't
to
be.
The
meal
started
with
two
of
the
four
people
in
our
group
ordering
Old
Fashioneds.
There
were
no
cherries,
there
had
been
no
muddling
of
sugar
and
bitters,
and
it
tasted
like
a
mediocre
glass
of
bourbon.
When
we
politely
asked
to
have
the
bar
try
them/remake
them,
we
got
new
ones
in
two
minutes
(far
faster
than
two
new
drinks
could
have
been
properly
remade).
They
were
still
bad.
One
of
us
kept
it
and
the
other
decided
to
stick
to
water.
When
our
appetizer
of
ACME
levain
&
Valley
Ford
HWY
1
“cheese
toast"
for
$17
arrived,
we
had
to
ask
for
small
plates.
A
minor
oversight
but
consistent
with
the
service
-
we
were
never
offered
a
second
drink,
no
manager
ever
touched
our
table
to
check
in
or
ask
us
how
our
meal
was
as
we
left,
etc.
The
bread
came
with
olives
as
advertised
but
strangely
four
extremely
spicy
pickled
birds
eye
chiles
and
two
under
pickled
okra.
The
steak
($45)
came
as
requested,
as
did
the
burger
($28)
and
scampi
($32).
The
swordfish
($38)
came
as
two
seemingly
beaten
cutlets
rather
than
the
traditional
steak
style
and
was
tough
and
slightly
fishy.
The
dessert
was
enough
to
send
us
running
to
a
local
bar
to
rinse
our
mouth
out.
The
special
-
stated
after
we'd
ordered
other
desserts
-
was
bread
pudding
which
two
of
us
switched
to.
For
$12
you
got
a
dense,
dry
cake
with
a
dry
kind
of
brownie
situation
on
top
and
it
was
all
cold.
Similarly
the
brownie
came
cold
and
dry
instead
of
in
its
advertised
sundae
delight.
For
$318
after
tax
and
tip
we
left
disappointed
and
underwhelmed.
Nothing
about
the
service,
drinks,
or
food
felt
special
or
worth
the
price
for
4
people.
