Updated review 2/4/2022: There was about a 10 minute wait for a table tonight at 6:30pm. My crispy seafood noodles $14 came out in about 10 minutes as well. Their version of Mi Xao Don Hai San (crispy seafood noodles) came with fish balls, fish cake, shrimps and squid with various vegetables. It came with a lot of gravy if you are into that. 1/2 the noodles were already soaked and were no longer crispy by the time it reached my table. Regardless, it was still delicious as always. Great job everyone at Kim Son. Keep rocking those authentic Vietnamese dishes. Original review: Indoor dining 4/28/2021. Tonight I had their seven item rice special $15. I loved how they included a little of everything. The rice was kind of hard and old. The little piece of five spice chicken was the star of the bunch. Although, the shrimp thing wrapped around the sugarcane was tasty as well. Service was excellent as I was the only customer. Good job Kim Son.

Food was good - delivered hot and fresh to the table. Service was suboptimal. There were a couple of younger people waiting tables and they seemed kind of irritated. I don't think they said thank you or you're welcome once while we were there. At one point while we were still eating, the gal decided that would be a good time to stand at our table and restock the chopsticks and spoons... It was very irritating.

Neighborhood favorite Vietnamese spot. The Pho is tasty and filling. This place is one of the few originals that still have decent portions. None of that tea cup sized rice mounds. We also enjoy the seafood crunchy noodle, sweet and sour soup, and the roll it yourself combination special. Great for a quick lunch or a family dinner.

One of my favorite restaurants. 2 dishes here are the best I've tried anywhere: Veggie Noodle Soup and Veggie Crispy Noodle. (I'm mostly vegetarian.) My wife enjoys the crab paste/tomato pho.

Amazing. The food is delicious and the waitstaff is always incredibly nice. There’s always people but the food comes out real fast. Really authentic and home-cooked vibe.

Read online reviews and decided to give this place a try. Wholesome Vietnamese comfort food. Tried the house special pho and it was great. Large portion, TONs of meat (which is a big bonus) and tasty broth. Definitely will come back to try out other dishes that all look delicious. The server was attentive and just have a very homy vibe 😀. If you are in this neighborhood, you should give this place a try. 🍜👍🏼💯🤩☺️

Their chicken curry noodle soup is the best soup in North America in my opinion. Get that and a pot of tea and you’ll be soooo happy. I love this place and the people are super nice. I come here often.

Pho ga is our fave. Great portions & reasonable price. Always a must on cold wet rainy or foggy SF days. Lovely elderly man owner always gives daughter small candy when we do pick up. Family owned so you just feel taken care of.

Small family run business feel. I order their no. 32 pork & imperial rolls over vermicelli. I substitute the pork with grilled 5 spice chicken and order an extra fish sauce. When I feel like soup I order there chicken curry my lunches are short but I want to experience there pho dining in nice n hot.

This place is going downhill. Been here for more than 5 times and it was good when it was started. However, This time it is totally a shift of cheif and management. Gave me 2 wrong orders of noodles. It was suppose to be Crispy noodles not some prepackaged fried noodles. Beside that. The rice plate I had was overnight hard rough rice and overnight chicken as well along with the veggies. Also found hair on noodles as on the picture. Very disappointed. Will not come back anymore and do not recommend to spend $12 for a dish that is not edible. Find elsewhere.

Sweet little family owned Vietnamese place in the heart of the outer Richmond. Great Pho and other dishes. Not a date night spot but perfect for any weekday.

The special combo pork chop rice plate was really good. We also had the deep fried imperial rolls that tasted great. Let the rolls cool off a little bit. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

Not many pho places around here so I was really happy to find this spot. Their serving sizes are hefty and food doesn't take a long time to come out. The imperial rolls were sooo good and crispy and flavorful. The pho was pretty standard. 4* review because there were a lot of flies flying around bothering us during our meal :(. I'd come back though!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - very different ratings depending on dish 5/5 - (2) Pho Dac Biet which is the house special beef noodle soup with all the beef options and (6) Pho Tai, Gan which is fresh sliced beef & tendon noodle soup. Both have fairly clear broth that's nicely flavored with an earthiness rather than just being salty. The soup was still hot that it cooked the sliced beef when poured over. Onion and cilantro is automatically included in the noodles with options of bean sprout and lemon 1/5 - Special Combination Rice Plates with pork chop, egg roll, rice, and soup. It's always disappointing when the rice is bad in a rice dish :( Part of it seemed like old/leftover rice since it was stale with some crunchy chunks, and stuck together. The pork chop, while nicely flavored, was dry and hard to chew. The egg roll was decent but not amazing Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go Service: 4/5 - may have slight language barrier and the older gentleman was starting to wrap up for the night so it does take a few moments to catch his attention Value for price: 3/5 - worth for the pho, would skip the rice dish

This is some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in the city, and in my opinion the best bun rieu I’ve ever had. Great balance of flavor, not too fishy or intense. It’s the perfect, cozy neighborhood spot - I go once a week and love it so much <3

Been coming here on & off for years; it’s an OK to good Vietnamese restaurant. Their soups are decent (the #12 is highly recommended), same goes for their combination plates.
