I needed to relax for a bit while my friend her daughter explored SF State. I drove around the streets off of 19th ave until I found this bar. Great atmosphere, excellent bartender (Dirk) and the drinks were good. We chatted along with other patrons and after a couple of drinks I left. I live in San Jose and I would make the drive just to have a drink at that bar. Good Job!!!!

Encountered a very rude, disrespectful, and degrading lady who worked here. Yes, we did not notice the signs for the restroom, but regardless, we shouldn’t have been treated the way we were. A solid, “sorry restrooms are for custumers only” would have sufficed. It’s honestly my friend and I’s fault for walking into this bar thinking that we, the only brown people in there, can be treated with any sort of respect. Old lady that works here at this wonderful establishment, if you’re reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself. It’s people like you that make me question what San Francisco has become. But then I come back to earth and realize that the majority of people in my city look down upon disrespectful racists like you, and people like you are the actual minorities.

Not only is it a fine SF old school bar, the bar tender is top notch. Professional, smart and a top notch bar keep. I believe he works Mondays thru Thursdays. Makes the experience worth it.

I used to hangout at Grandma's in the 1970's with the SF Northstar M/C club. It was a great place!
