My favorite spot in San Francisco. Unreal ethereal trails, old WPA staircases, and eucalyptus one together to form a short network of trails that will leave you wondering if you are still in the city. The cross is iconic. On a clear day the views are fantastic. It’s also the highest point in San Francisco

Mt Davidson is a scenic and quaint getaway from the buzzing streets of SF. Located close enough to Twin Peaks to almost offer the same views, it brings the advantage of being less crowded, so overall a good time. Reasons you should visit: 1. Dramatic panoramic views in every direction. On a clear day, you can see far the hills of the faraway south bay and diablo area. 2. Tree cover for most of the climb up to the summit, which is unique for an SF park. This is made even better on rainy and foggy days, as the park develops a mystic charm. 3. Surrounded by residential neighborhoods, so there's very little noise pollution from traffic and most foot traffic is friendly. Highly recommend adding to your SF bucket list if you haven't seen it already!

It's a short climb to the top, and the reward you get from the view will last a lifetime.

Gorgeous green trails. Nice hike/run/walk. The fog made the experience absolutely dramatic

Let everyone else flock to Twin Peaks, I will always prefer Mt. Davidson. Fairly unobstructed 360 views of everything except the Golden Gate. Next to Corona Heights park, best of SF downtown. It's a nice, short jaunt from various entry points in the surrounding neighborhoods. Trails are a bit narrow, but plenty of space to spread out at the top. During the golden hour, nothing beats seeing the cross lit up by that orange sunlight.

Mount Davidson is a nice smaller park to go hiking at with a few trails, a giant hidden cross, and some nice views of San Francisco. It wasn't to busy on the middle of a weekday and likely a little less popular due to its location in the southern part of the city. The trees and landscape make for a unique natural experience.

Quiet hike trails. 100million years history in the rocks. Great view of the city and Bay. Can be muddy after rain or fog.

Another hiking gem! The east facing side is the dry side with fewer trees and more sun. The west side tends to feel like a eucalyptus rain forest with stone staircases. There are obviously sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding Bay Area.

This is a great place to hike and safely social distance. Dogs are allowed on leashes. There are some rocky areas small children will need help on, ideal for older kids. Very beautiful and serene place to hang out and not too crowded shhh don’t tell anyone.

So I parked near a bus stop after picking up a free refrigerator listed on Craigslist because I had to go #1. There was a path going off into the woods and I originally was just going to use a tree to relieve myself but my dog 🐶 Doobie had other ideas and didn’t want to get back into the car so I decided to take him for a little hike and boy am I glad I did just a short walk up the path I saw a gigantic lower case “t” but that’s not why I was glad. The view of San Francisco is breathtaking you can see much more than from twin peaks in my opinion it’s amazing how big San Francisco really is and in such a small area definitely a must see, especially if you live here. Really puts things into perspective. I’ll add more pictures next time I go but here is one of downtown from the summit.

I set out to the highest peak to see the stunning city view as many reviews wrote, but I couldn’t at the first attempt. I parked my car on Juanita Way and hiked into Mount Davidson Hiking Path Entrance. Some fallen trees blocked the narrow trail and I had to climb over them to get through. The trail was surprising quiet and beautiful with blossoming white and pink wild berry flowers. Apparently not many people passing through. I turned back and drove up Dalewood Way to Mount Davidson Paved Path. Yes, this was the most popular and easiest trail to go up the peak.

Smells a bit like urine everywhere, but other than that it’s great. Remote, densely wooded, quiet, with great views and a huge hidden cross. Didn’t know it was the cities highest peak, but that’s pretty neat!

Loved my first "hike" on Mount Davidson. Really accessible and easy to do with a toddler and infant in an ergo. Not strenuous, but fantastic views of the city in many directions (no Golden Gate Bridge, though). I have no idea how it took me so long to get here... Half hour drive from mid-peninsula well worth it for an easy trek with multi-million dollar views. This is now a new go-to spot to bring out oft owners who don't want anything too strenuous.

Easy hike up to the top of Mt. Davidson, takes about 20-30 minutes. You can get a nice panoramic view of SF on a clear day.

One of the best places to hike within San Francisco borders. Excellent trails leading through both easy-to-navigate and more obscure trails. It has a remarkable history too. Especially the Easter service in front of the controversial mormon cross is a sight worth seeing. Take care not to get lost on some of the trails however!

Great tiny hike. It was super foggy when I reached and I was doing this alone for the first time, so it was quite scary but as you go up (and there is not much up to go), you'll start seeing the light. It's beautiful from this height!

Very cute and short hike to the top, expect a 20 minute round trip, but you could extend it to over an hour is you meander through all the side trails. There is a massive cross at the top that I didn’t expect to see at the top, it is a monument to the Armenian genocide. A placard sits at the base that informs of the monuments history.

Great place to run in the morning. Fog is magical and always different around sunrise. Memorial to the Armenian genocide is stark contrast to the eucalyptus trees and induces reflection

Early morning is simply spectacular. Great place to watch the sun rise, and the birds singing in the trees is almost unreal. Wonderful views of the city as well.

Beautiful place with nice shirt hiking options. Huge cross on top in memory of genocide not Armenian people. Great view on a sunny day.

Did you know this is supposedly the highest peak in San Francisco? It's an ~5k hike to the top but trust me when I say it's completely worth it! Oh, did I mention the 360° view?! Just beware that Coyotes are a possibility and more likely to come across as the sun sets away and it gets dark. There is a posted sign when entering about how best to handle coyote encounters.
