Hawk Hill

Tourist attraction β€’ Park β€’ Hiking area

😐 Not much of a park. No restroom, no parking, not even any park benches. Just very steep and sandy/slippery trails up and down the hill. Nice view from the top, but the view from Grandview Park (a few blocks to the north) is much nicer. People often mention park,

As those said 4 or more years ago. It’s more of an open space and not a place to hike. Only steep sand and succulents. One new thing I would add is it is dirty and there is a lot of trash now. It is not maintained. I saw rusty spray cans, clothes, food containers, etc. Do not bother given the hundreds of other places that are clean, hike-able and great views.

A refreshing park with narrow sandy paths. I saw a few Hawks souring, wish I took better pictures of them. Excellent views to the west and to the south, and above ( when the hawks are around.)

Arrived as the sun was setting which proved to be beautiful as I watched the city begin to light up as the horizon darkened. Sprawling succulents and orange flowers that appear to bloom jan/feb provided a lovely dash of color. Not much room to hunker down at the top but worth the short climb if you’re in the area

This used to be one of my favorite views in the city but the main access is closed off now and it’s very difficult to get into.

This is one of those San Francisco parks that is a hidden gem. Mostly locals walking their dogs but there is a play structure and seating areas if you want to have a picnic. Also there are some tennis courts which I've never seen being used. Too many trees for a really spectacular all-around view but there is a nice vantage to the south towards San Bruno Mountain.

Hawk Hill park is closed for trail maintenance, but historically it's a small steep hill, nothing too great. Good view though.

Trauls here are more like sand piles and not really maintained. somewhat cold and windy up on the hill. highly recommend traveling to a different park in the area

Watch out for coyotes! If you have a small dog probably best to not walk them here especially at night.

How is this called a park? πŸ˜‚ It's just a hill.
