Fantastic place to have our puppy stay for his day school. We got constant photos and updates with his progress and everyone there genuinely loves hanging out with the animals. They have very good training practices to make sure your puppy will be used to city living!

I am super impressed with Wag Hotel in San Francisco. A hot spot that he had BEFORE he went to Wag opened up while he was there boarding - they jumped on it right away, contacted me, and went ahead and erred on the conservative side, getting him veterinary attention. I was out of town and not reachable for a period of time - but they treated my dog with the same love and attention that I would have provided if I were home. Gives me huge peace of mind bringing him there when I have to travel for work.

Fawn is a fabulous dog trainer and clear communicator. We've had our puppy at SmartyPup for both socials and the PupDog 1 class and are psyched at the positive influence on our dog. The socials have helped her to overcome her timidity, and the class has helped us to train effectively. Fawn is very sensitive to the different needs of different dogs, and managed the diversity in the class exceptionally well. Skipping any silly dog puns, obvious though they may be...

SmartyPup has been the most valuable resource for us when we got our first puppy. Every trainer we have met there are so knowledgeable and nice! Every class is so useful and it really makes a difference for the dogs.

As the puppy training classes go, this is definitely a good place . My only other point of reference would be ASPCA which I and my older Schipperke attended and I'd recommend both places somewhat as equally good. However, Smarty Pup's training space is much smaller and a tad claustrophobic for my Schipperke's palate. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff and cleanliness are obvious and if your pup doesn't mind confined space it's a good place to start. All that said regarding very limited space the place has , there are twice as many dogs in class then ASPCA. Our current class has over a dozen pups.

We adopted an 8 week old puppy, and I had forgotten just how much work puppies are with chewing, toilet training, and getting into trouble if not exercised and properly supervised. I quickly realized that we were in over our heads and needed a lot of help. I asked several dog trainers I know in SF and they all said to call SmartyPup SF. The school uses only positive reinforcement training and specializes in puppy socialization. It's a combination of Day care and Day Training. The trainers were brilliant. We could see the difference in her confidence right away. She began giving auto sits, going to her mat, and seemed more relaxed. Her play skills developed quickly. She graduated a couple of weeks ago now she’s in adult daycare with a wide variety of adult dogs. That daycare tells me that they can see how well developed her play style and confidence is for a dog her age. She was exposed to many different people, objects, sounds, situations and now has the curiosity to explore and try new things, without being held back by fear. She even had the courage to ride a skateboard ! What a transformation. SmartyPup gave her a head start in life that she wouldn’t otherwise have. I’m grateful that we found them. The owner, Fawn, was also very helpful with food and treat advice. If you’re looking to give your puppy the best foundation possible to work from, this is the place. Definitely paws up and 5 stars !

Smarty Pup was super fun, we bring Maggie our Cavapoo-poo for puppy socials. She’s is getting more social and learning to be with other dogs.

Staff are super helpful and patient with all the puppies at the puppy socials! We've seen our puppy gain a ton of confidence and good manners since taking him to Smarty Pup.
