Elitist vibe. Even to the dirty pond being considered a “lake”. Few owners keep their dogs on a leash, no matter where they are in the park. I love dogs, I love them coming up to me, but these park goers do not think for one second about other park goers who may not be as comfortable — but to them, it’s all about their happiness and not thinking about others. Many other SF parks have more respectful residents with more impressive bodies of water. North to the Presidio is nice, but many of the routes can be rather secluded and wouldn’t recommend traveling alone

Lovely park. Spacious with slides, swings, and various climbing structures. My 10&12 yr old enjoyed the place - although they hooked up with other kids to play hide&seek in and around the playground. There is a toddler playground and an older kids side. Both side looks fun with lots of climbing apparatus. The playground surface is rubbery, bouncy, and safe for toddlers and those that are likely to tumble from time to time. It's clean. Huge plus! Wonderful foggy view of the lake today, but it's good to be outside watching the kids play. Playground is right by the toilets. There is a picnic table right next to the bathroom. It overlooks the playground.

Huge park, with a lot to explore, but the children's play area is actually really neat in itself. HUGE slide. Nice, clean bathrooms on site. Definitely a lot different than Golden Gate Park. Be sure to check this place out if passing through.

Great park. Fun natural activities for the kids, plenty of shade. The basketball court is horrible and not worth considering though.

Great dog friendly park. Lots of enclosed areas to pet the dogs off leash and a nice little dog park tucked away. The lake is pretty to watch from one of the surrounding benches. There's also a playground and bathroom nearby.

Mountain lake Park will always be an iconic location for kids of all ages. It's great to see the constant upgrades, and the close to detail attention the grounds keepers are paying towards from the landscaping, habitat, and patrons alike. There have been many mistakes in planning this part of the freeway that are now making the best effort to rebuild and remedy such issues. For the most part I am welcoming the return of the turtles who were native to the area! Great place to take in the nature, have a picnic, play, have fun, and explore. I sure hope that many will come and enjoy the great things this little park has to offer, as I have done over the years of being here.

Pretty park, great trails to walk around or cycle if you can handle the walkers and runners

Located on Lake Street, this park is a favourite for kids, families, and pet lovers alike. There is a playground for the kids with plenty of seesaws, swings and slides. There are large grounds where people setup picnics, and tennis courts.

This park truly shines as a delightful venue for baby birthday parties. I've attended several here, and it consistently provides ample space for both dogs and babies to frolic freely. The addition of picnic tables makes it even more convenient for such gatherings. While it might not boast the most striking views compared to other parks in SF, its inviting ambiance and functionality certainly make it a solid 4/5 choice for family-friendly outdoor events.

A lesser known gem in SF. Beautiful spot with a lake, tennis courts, dog park, and a good area to hang out in the park.

foxtail everywhere! If you want have a furry pet, eg a labradoodle with a lot of hair, stay away unless you can spend 30 minutes meticulously looking for foxtail in their paws. Good for walks for small dogs. The lake’s water is full of green algae which is toxic for dogs.

It’s home for us. The kids when they were little. The dog today. An oasis of calm available every day.

Natural lake and a sprawling 5 block long park for littles, adults and dogs too. Off the beaten concrete path.

The best outdoor space any resident can ask for. It features trails, playground, tennis courts, restrooms.

No shoreline, heavy traffic (Park Presidio) noise, but pretty and empty.

Wonderful, hidden "mountain lake" in the midst of San Francisco; you can almost block out the nearby noise and just sit back & watch the ducks!

This is a gem of a park in SF. Amazing for both dog and child. Swing by and you won’t be disappointed :)

Love this park for tennis, working out at the par course and playing ball with my dog in the offleash dog section. There's a great kids playground too!

Beautiful park with hiking trails that leads into the Presidio National Park. Tennis courts, a lake and playground. Small dog park, not enclosed. A Richmond district treasure.

Last natural body of water in SF. Full restoration of the habitat and surrounding grounds. Great little gem of a park in SF

If you ever want to get back to nature this is the place to go. Being at the place where San Francisco was established gives me a sense of pride to be proud of being born here.

Hidden gem with a lake and basketball and tennis courts. Kids can play on the gym. Go west in the park for romantic hills and a dog run. It's not Golden Gate Park, but a small new discovery.
