Had dinner at this Ethiopian restaurant with live Jazz music on a Sunday night. The ambience was very nice, a bit on the darker side with LED candles on tables. Downsides - Seating is quite cramped and they use plastic glasses to serve water. Apparently, the central dividing wall of the dining room is actually a replica of the Church of St. George, an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian church. The band started playing around 7pm, they were really good! Enjoyed the music. The lady server was very knowledgeable and helpful! Though since she was the only one handling all the tables, a bit stressed, she forgot that I had asked for a Bourbon. The food itself was very good! Would recommend this place for the food and the music.

I came here with a friend who had never tried Ethiopian food. We came here on a weekday and it is the perfect spot to unwind. Very cozy and comforting vibes with live jazz music. The space is a little cramped, but food and music make up for that. The server was very helpful and prompt. The food was scrumptious. My friend and I ordered lentil sambusa, split pea soup, the vegetarian sampler, and some extra injera. Everything was delicious and perfectly spiced. The jazz band was really good. We enjoyed the music and food. I can't wait to visit again.

Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation but it wasn’t busy at 6 pm. Be warned, live music doesn’t start until 8 ish! So we waited there until it started but the people who did eventually play were great. We got the vegetarian sampler which seemed to be super popular among a lot of people who went, and the doro wat and one of the sambusas which I super recommend! We got the sirloin one. Overall, the food was super tasty snd fresh, almost too much food for two people so great portion sizes. We also got the fudge cake which was tasty. The service and ambiance here is great and the waiter was super kind. Would come again, though later.

This is one of my favorite spots in the city. I come as often as I can whenever I don’t feel like cooking ethiopian dishes myself and want to be served 🥰 My friend and I ordered the cat fish, tibs wat, vegetarian sampler, and we shared everything ‘family style’. The honey wine is also always a reliable go-to to wash everything down 😋 The injera isn’t as authentic as other places but they do make up for it with everything else and of course the nightly live jazz shows which you won’t find anywhere else 🎷🎸🥁🎹

First of all, the foods are so tasty! Sambusa is crispy on the outside and tender inside and what adds another level to it is how thin the crust is. Perfect balance of texture. Vege Sampler with injera on the bottom, plus Doro Wat poured on the center of injera—this is just heavenly and no extra explanation is needed. Oh, and not to mention the music. It simply brings happiness, truly. Our server was very sweet and nice and non-aggressive which I really like. Loved this place. Will visit again for sure.

An education in jazz/blues and the culinary arts. Live jazz (a remarkably gifted quintet when we visited) Ethiopian food, unique craft cocktails. Phenomenal on every level.

I've been stopping here before or after shows at the Fillmore for years. Sometimes it's nice to have a drink and something to eat beforehand other times. It's really nice to drive it. Grab a drink afterwards and see what bands are playing the other night. It was fantastic music almost better than the show we paid for at the Fillmore

One of the best Ethiopian Restaurants we have been to. The injera is delicious. The Chicken and beef tibs were flavorful and if course the honey wine was great. We went when there was a live piano player there too. Great friendly service and delicious food.

Chill keys and vocals over dinner. Exploring Ethiopian cuisine. Really good experience, food, and helpful/easy-going staff. I highly recommend the chicken dish. The lamb was just ok. The beef tartar was good but not as good as the chicken. Would have loved larger portions.

Fantastic Ethiopian food ideal to share and very original cocktails in a small lounge with gorgeous live music. Very friendly staff. Not expensive. The musicians are in a corner and hard to see from most tables, you need to specify this when making your reservation.

Jazz music was very nice! I had the tastiest burger I've ever eaten, and some beer at the bar. The friendly staff, you made my day, thank you.

Cozy, cute jazz bar that has good food, good drinks and excellent live entertainment. I've only come on the weekends and there had always been a live band playing jazz. So far the talent has been excellent and listening to live jazz is such a great way to enjoy the evening. The Ethiopian inspired drinks are unique and very flavorful. The food is wonderful. My wife does not like split pea soup anywhere else but it's really good here. The Ethiopian dishes were interesting and reminded me a lot of Indian mixed with middle eastern dishes. The Ethiopian food can be a little spicy if you're not good with spices but they have plenty of American style dishes if you're not into trying something new. Overall a great place to enjoy an evening out with good food and drinks listening to live jazz. Wish they had something like this in orange county.

Live jazz music and friendly ambiance. They have amazing signature cocktails with all in-house ingredients. Google the name of each signature cocktail and you will learn a lot about Ethiopian history. My favorite cocktail is Menelik's mule so far.
