Honestly was so surprised about the ferry building. I read about the changes the place underwent and have to say, it's terrific! We found parking in the area difficult to find, but, it is right on the tram line so has a number of stops right out front. Inside we found the ferry building indoor market, really good variety of vendors with an amazing selection of foods, clothes, and other items. It was a very comfortable place to be and there is a really good burger place with outside seating to just watch the world pass by (Gott). Take some time to have a look round the visitors centre there, lots of history about the ferry building and also the bay area itself. You will also find toilets here. You can walk round the back of the building and see some of the guys fishing, but you will also find benches and good views too!

Such a fun place! So many great local vendors and restaurants to choose from! We especially enjoyed the bakeries, chocolate shops and the mushroom store. We were in town only for a short time and went here twice for shopping and great food! We also attended the Saturday Farmer's Market. We couldn't believe how many vendors and farmers were there! We wish we could have purchased all the great, fresh produce available but we couldn't fit it all into our suitcases! Definitely worth the visit!

This is a beautiful building. They do a great job of maintaining a clean facility. It's a great place to come and visit. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping. They have a farmers market every weekend. Everything looks fresh and delicious. I do feel they could use more seating indoors to accommodate everyone and others with disabilities. It rained today, so it was impossible to sit outside. They do have outdoor seating as well. Easy to access using public transportation 👍👍

Don't let the name fool you, I didn't see any ferries, well maybe I did but didn't know about it. Well anyway, they have really nice shops along the inside and outside for your purchase needs. I needed a bagel 🥯 at the time so my family and I purchased a 3 pack. They came with cream cheese. We devoured the bagels looking out toward the water and enjoyed the wonderful views of the water and city sky line. I took a panoramic photo that turned out really well and my daughter was chasing the birds.

Cool place to get a view of the bridge. Also really fun to just grab one of the rental scooters to travel from the bridge to the fisherman’s wharf. The building has a ton of good places to grab snacks or meals

This was such a fun place to visit! I loved walking through all the fun and interesting shops! There were a lot of shops to go visit when I was here on a Sunday. There was a place to get empanadas, a mushroom shop, a couple bread places, a cooking oil place, a butcher shop, and so much more. All the food made it smell amazing in there!! 😁 There were several bathrooms in the building, all of them clean. There was a decent sized line for the women's most of the time, so try to plan ahead for that. Outside, there were additional booths to go visit, and the bell from the bell tower was fun to listen to every 30 minutes. There were also some pedicabs to pay for, so my party did that. It was fun to sit back and enjoy the ride, with the nice breeze and the sights. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the ferry building. 😊

Stopped here twice on our latest trip. Once for dinner at High Island Oysters and to get some bread from Boudin. Then back today for a shopping stroll. Found interesting items at The Gardener, picked up macrons from Miette, had a coffee from Blue Bottle, and browsed in the Book Passage book shop. Very enjoyable afternoon.

This is one of the major landmarks of the City. They are working on the clock tower. Inside there are wonderful shops and restaurants, too! Going outside you can view the ferry boats and outdoor dining restaurants. People are having a great time here. Catch a ferry to Sausalito, Vallejo and other bay area cities. If you have time or want to take a ferry ride, you will have an enjoyable time!

This build is clean, have great views of the harbor and looking back in the city on Market street. I feel safe here, no homeless or drug out people inside the building. I also enjoyed some of the food options that was available. It even have clean bathrooms😊, just wish there were few more comfortable indoor seatings.

You can't miss this wonderful building on the waterfront. It's classy and just looks amazing. It's been repurposed and inside, you are greeted by many boutique shops and street food cafes. It wonderful to look around and explore the building. Even better, try some of the food offerings. There are also plenty of rest rooms should you need them.

The boat was clean, not overly crowded (on a Thur.) and the crew and terminal staff were friendly and informative. I was very disappointed to find out it no longer goes to Fisherman's wharf but only the Ferry Building. It is not cheap either, cant imagine commuting on it daily. It cost $23.00 round trip for 1 adult. Kids under 5 free. You can save a couple bucks by getting a clipper card. Definitely recommend it, makes it easy. Parking is $8 for the day in the lot across the street.

The Ferry Building has a lot of interesting retail stores and restaurants. It gets busy during the weekends as tourists tend to flock there for the food and enjoy the bay view. Hog island Oyster Bar is always full and the wait can be long. People like to chill out over fresh seafood and some drinks. I was there to buy tickets for the ferry ride to Sausalito. The ride is US$15 for one way and is 30mins. It’s a great way to visit Sausalito and get to see Alcatraz from the ferry. Ride offered a view of SF from the bay, which is different from the usual tourist attractions. Well run smooth ride on the ferry . Great photo ops, fresh air and sea breeze! The ferry lands right at the heart of Sausalito, on to the main road and tourist belt. So easy and convenient! It can get a little windy on the ferry ride. On the whole, excellent experience!

2 / 2 I recently visited the Ferry Building in San Francisco, and it was an amazing experience. The view from the building is breathtaking, as you can see the bay with all its ships and boats. I enjoyed buying a burrito from one of the local vendors inside the building, and it was delicious. It was the perfect meal to enjoy while taking in the beautiful scenery. After finishing my burrito, I walked across the street to the nearby park where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The park was crowded with people admiring the flowers, and it was a lovely sight to see. The atmosphere in the park was serene and peaceful, and it was a great place to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Ferry Building is also home to many local shops selling various goods, such as specialty foods, souvenirs, and clothing. It was fascinating to explore all the different shops and see what they had to offer. The architecture of the building is also beautiful, with its classic design and impressive clock tower. Overall, my visit to the Ferry Building was a memorable experience. It's a must-visit location for anyone in San Francisco, especially if you're looking for good food, beautiful views, and a relaxing atmosphere.

I'll be the first to say I'm not a fan of the city, BUT this is a building that is worth visiting. If you look at it, yeah sure, it looks just like some seaside old building that they turned into a market place with a bunch of kiosks, but it's the way this building was revived into what it is today, that interests me. It's the exact model that other areas take to revive old buildings, and don't come near to being as successful as this. On top of that, its original use of being a Ferry Terminal is still very much in use to this day. It's a building that anchors the community. Many other cities may try to mimic reviving buildings for active use, but it's rare for them to be this successful.

Showed up for the Saturday farmer’s market and was surprised at how huge the place was. Stalls inside and outside with food, products, produce and ready to go food. If I lived here I would definitely buy some of the cut flowers, just like all the locals.

The best part of the embarcadero is the food in the ferry building. I love finding the old gems and some new places that have opened up as well. I enjoyed the dandelion European hot chocolate just like I did 5+ years ago when it was a small pop-up shop up front outside the ferry building. This is just pure joy and happiness 😊

Ferry Building, the Port of San Francisco has many fancy local restaurants and shops, it is kind of a market. You can view this building from almost all the piers and the Bay bridge. The entrance, exit and restrooms inside the building are really clean, kudos to the staff working there. One downside is you can find some homeless people on the benches outside the building. Nonetheless, one of the major historical landmarks of San Francisco is worth the visit.

100% worth it even if you weren’t visiting a specific place. The views are unmatched especially at less than $10 a ride. We were headed to Sausalito and made a stop at Angel Island along the way where I proposed to my now fiancé.

Good walkabout the Ferry Building and the surrounding pier area. Restoration is fitting with good views to the vaulted ceiling. But the real stars are thee foodie options. Good range of meat, veggie, gluten free snacks and desserts can be found. Also some artisan shops selling food/drink items from around the world. All in all a nice area of San Fran to chill out.

It's a great experience. Behind the Ferry building, there is huge place for sitting and enjoying the views. One can enjoy watching Bay bridge, ferries, skyline of Sanfrancisco etc., Statue of Mahatma Gandhi here, comes as a surprise. Inside the building are shops and eateries. Rest rooms are well maintained.

First time coming through here. My first impression is "wow, I need to come back with my lady and her daughter" This place looks really cool and seems to have quite a few shops that offer nice treats 😀 👍🏽 I did try an organic juice at Juice House? I'm not sure if that's the correct name, but I had the 'Kale Yeah' and it was tasty and refreshing 😋

In this building, there are nice shops to look around. 👌 interiors are so nice and we can see trendy product with beautiful design.. I love vibes in there and couldn't stop seeing them...☺️☺️☺️ I can say this space is the best place in my first trip in San Francisco because I like to see those advanced design product, display and interior and branding. Even in the rainy day, we don't get suffer from weather. So cozy... and there are cafe and restaurants too. Why would I go outside??

Beautiful place, there's a wall decorated with a floral heart inside the ferry building. There is spacious outdoor seating. A wide variety of dining options, not too overcrowded inside or outside the ferry building at this time, before 1PM.

A great spot for shopping and eating (& catching the ferry) Some of the merchant shops and restaurants had changed hands since my last visit Pre Covid but the quality is still there. Prices are above average but the queues of local office workers that line up for a seat to eat are a testimony to the quality. Would recommend a visit even just to sit outside at rear of the building and watch the world go by.

Love the farmer market every Saturday - amazing quality food and drinks. Inside of the building, most of the stuff are overpriced but the burger place. Nice place to hang out if you in the area.

The Ferry Building and Marketplace in San Francisco are a culinary and cultural treasure trove. This beautifully restored Beaux-Arts building along the waterfront is a visual delight, with its iconic clock tower and stunning architecture. Inside, the marketplace is a food lover's paradise, offering fresh produce, artisanal treats, and gourmet delights. Don't miss the lively Farmers Market outside, showcasing the best of Northern California's local products. Beyond the culinary delights, the Ferry Building offers scenic bay views and a mix of charming shops and eateries. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a must-visit destination where history and culinary excellence blend seamlessly, creating a memorable San Francisco experience. 🍽️🏙️🚢

One of the cities most iconic buildings with a wonderful selection of boutique shops, all very uniques, that center around food. There's also a wonderful little bookstore, a coffee shop, burger place and an iconic oyster restaurant as well. I lived in SF for 15 years and never get tired of visiting the ferry building or seeing the views of the city and the Bay from here!

Always interesting to walk through and see the specialist shops. This time. Fungi. I never knew that there were so many safe ones you can eat.

Nice old building filled with shops and restaurants. Most of them close quite early (before 6pm). There's a nice "fisherman" atmosphere and the view of downtown San Francisco and Bay Bridge from the Dock is really great. Must have a look when passing by San Francisco. I recommend it during the day
