Staff is rude and impatient with veterans. After over 50 phone calls to this office to simply get a replacement ID card the business office is so completely inept and rude. All of the reputation of bureaucracy and ineptitude is personified by this office. If you ever wonder why many veterans feel like they can’t get help from the VA, I can say from my experience it has always been from the business side and not the care side. There seems to be no oversight or selectivity for the customer service skills or basic ability to perform the task that people are hired for.

These people are so rude and have a total lack of respect for people.I was listening in on my my 82 year old fathers conversation when he received a call from Destiney to schedule an appointment. I could not believe how she was treating him as she even became irate and treated him as an annoyance. In all the years of dealing with the VA this was out worst experience by far. We are going to ask to be reassigned from this clinic.

On 9/24 at the front check-in, my husband had waited nearly 8mins before told by the three sitting there that that someone will be with him: okay. While the person in the back office at that time got up to see why my husband continued to stand there not being checked in; then the lady in the front right office called him over to check him in (a few behind us by this time). We sat down. As others checked in. Another Veteran got to the front and asked to make an appointment with his doctor that day or as soon as possible, he just finished his labs. The front clerk was so rude by telling him to call the 1-800 and he said why can't I see and make appointment now? Then she told him he's out of line and needs to leave. He was upset at that point, apologized to everyone around and left. Mind you, he didn't yell or argue...just wanted to make a doctor's appointment. BUT as soon as he left, the three at the front desk laughed and snickered at him...we in the reception area all heard them!!! This is NOT how you treat OUR Veterans. This upset my husband that it raised his BP.  They need to be aware of other Veterans health and their action!!!!!

Terrible staff, unattentively to veteran needs and the so called "patient advocate" simply doesn't care and will not follow through. Attempting to contact the site manager was equally terrible. Not only did he ignore my attempts to email.. but scolded the VA rep who shared to contact info.. which is public@!

Under Staffed, Under Paid, and Always giving top-care. This clinic has been one of the best around. Staff is truly remarkable; always willing to go the extra mile for any veteran. I go here, My 2 brothers, cousin-by-law, and most of my veteran friends because of the services offered. Stockton's clinic doesn't offer X-rays but Modesto has it! If there are any complaints, the patient advocate has ALWAYS been there to help along. It truly is a fantastic service that is offered to us here in the Central Valley. Are there barriers? SURE! It's a government funded healthcare system. It isn't mean to generate revenue but they sure do work wonders with what they have. If you want better service, don't replace the VA, replace congress since they are the one's who approve budgets, new clinics, new services, and MORE EMPLOYEE'S. Not the organization itself.

Began using Modesto VA Clinic as primary provider when retired fm USN in 1995. Despite some inconvenience of having to travel to specialists at VA Livermore (@50 mi.) & VA Palo Alto (100+mi as the car crawls), my care has consistently been excellent IMHO. I've just been diagnosed with cancer (spine & bladder - "Prognosis is universally bleak") and I'm almost overwhelmed by the determination of the staffs at all 3 VAs to treat me professionally and compassionately. My husband, who is not a veteran, is a bit jealous of my medical care and grateful for the respect the show both him and me. (Nota bene: for family reasons, I transferred to Rockford, IL with UPS in 2005 and was treated by VA Rockford & VA Hospital Madison, WI until moving back here in 2014. When I returned, I was assigned to the same physician I'd had before, Dr. Park. Treatment in IL/WI and here has been consistently above my expectations and I am thankful for all of them.)

The Doctors here are are horrendous and uncaring, the nursing staff do their best, but are hendered by the physicians they work for. The only bright spot is the lab staff who do a great job. It's sad that those who have given their all, are treated so poorly.

Went to VA hospital in Modesto for my uncle Thomas. I want give a huge thank to erynn g. Supervisor for help my uncle get things he needed. And Ryan s for help thank you both so much. Erynn was extremely nice and helped my uncle a lot great supervisor.
