Gorgeous beach, perfect for taking photos either clothed or bare. Nude beach. Steep and long hike, would suggest for less experienced hikers to wear right shoes and bring more water. If you walk far north, you get to the base of the Golden Gate and if you’re daring to get wet, or monkey around, you could make your way over to Fort Point parking lot on the other side. If you don’t want to hike far, you could park at Fort Point and make your way around the bridge platform to this beach.

THE best spot for photographing the Golden Gate Bridge, or just for seeing sea creatures, enjoying the sunset, etc...Surprisingly little traffic (I saw maybe 1 other person after being here for hours). It is a bit more of a walk to get here, but worth it for this unique view.

This beach is beautiful. This was my first time visiting this beach and I was happy to do it. To enjoy the beach you have to go down a mountain for about 15 minutes but it is worth it. The sunsets from this beach are wonderful and unforgettable.

No better place to catch the sunset than Marshall Beach. Short hike down. Plenty of parking spaces around but gets very busy during weekends, so I recommend going on a weekday. High Tides starts coming in after sunset but still plenty safe to walk on the beach.

Great beach with a stellar view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s a STEEP descent and climb back up so plan lots of time for hat and look down and watch your feet when you walk ir you could slip and fall. It’s a very quiet private feel because it’s hard to get to. Clothing optional.

High tides in the evening, walking on the rocks is recommended when there after high tides. One of a kind beach. Unique view of the bridge. Hiking would be around 30 to 40 mins. There are some rocks closer to the beach which one could climb for an awesome view.. could be difficult to keep your feet dry, on the way to the beach.

Marshall's Beach is an incredible destination for anyone visiting San Francisco. This beautiful beach offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding area, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the city. One of the best things about Marshall's Beach is the hike to get there. The trail to the beach is relatively short but can be a bit steep in places, making it a great way to get some exercise and take in the beautiful scenery. Once you reach the beach, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean. The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space for sunbathing, swimming, and exploring. The views of the bridge are absolutely stunning, and it's easy to spend hours taking in the scenery and snapping photos. Overall, Marshall's Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the beauty of San Francisco. The hike to get there is a fun and rewarding activity, and the views of the Golden Gate Bridge are simply incredible. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this amazing beach and experience the magic of San Francisco.

I had heard pretty classic things about the views of the Golden Gate bridge, the coastline, and the views of the ocean from Marshall's Beach, but I still was completely blown away by my experience of watching the sunset over the ocean here. I have done a large amount of traveling in my life but watching the sun set from this beach was without a doubt one of the most beautiful things I have seen so far!

It’s a little bit of a hike, but absolutely beautiful. The hike is always worse going back up. Past the large rocks, it’s a nude beach, but there’s plenty of room before that, if that’s not your thing. My favorite SF beach

Great hidden beach with few people. Might encounter some weirdos here, but not of the bad kind. Great for photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. Steep climb up and down, so don't bring 5 coolers and bags.

Beautiful beach , the naked side was all empty while the other side was crowded. Not ideal to watch any sunset which somehow google recommended.

(Translated by Google) It is a beach that can take pictures with the bridge very well. The atmosphere is very good. I like it, but I have to walk a little far. But going down is very worthwhile (Original)

Great beach, the trail to get to the beach provided much needed exercise and it was pretty secluded. Definitely coming back here next time I visit SF. Took plenty of pictures here with friends and we wished we could've stayed longer! Recommending this beach to buddies

Probably one of the coolest beaches to ever visit. Great view of The Golden Gate Bridge! Short hike down on Batteries to the Bluff trail to get down the cliff.

This is a good trail for try. Will require a moderate lvl of strength for go here. Stroller doesn’t go here. If carrying your baby recommended to bring it at your back. Can be come please wear a light sweater, comfortable shoes, water and a big smile to enjoy the view.

Lots of art work to see everywhere. Friendly people, and the homeless people who live around the area were polite.

It's a beach. With sand. And ocean. And that's basically it. Parking lot fills up fast. Did not go on a hike so have no opinion about that. The surroundings and the drive up there are 5 stars.

Nice to hike down to take a different view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We managed to time it right as the fog was on the horizon when we started down, after getting a lovely clear view for 5 minutes we were pretty much blanketed by the time we got half way back up. It comes in pretty quick !!

was a very nice place but almost not practical for any sort of casual adventure to just pull to the side of the road and experience the beach in the fun of the moment. also a lot of police are around the area too so that might be a problem for some. in the rain though it can still be a very enjoyable place to stop and look at nature.

Quaint clothing optional spot it used to be more difficult to reach so now kids and families come strolling along sometimes. Tide and rocks have increased not that much beach left but still fun when it's warm enough.

  • 2/5 TreBion P. 3 years ago on Google
Giving it two stars because the scenery is beautiful and the view of the bridge and ocean are nice, but it's extremely rocky and hard to get to. Plus beaches in Northern California don't stay warm for long

It's a great place to go if you want to watch the sunset near GG Bridge. There were so many pelicans, too!

Fun short hike. You get to see all the wildflowers, a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and you get to explore the area.

(Translated by Google) Marshall’s Beach is below Battery West. There are numerous former military installations of the Presidio military base along the coast. From here you can also see the Golden Gate Bridge, but the angle is not so good. The beach has more rock than sand as a surface.

My wife and I took a morning hike from batteries to bluffs then continued towards the Golden Gate Bridge. My best advice is bring comfortable shoes to walk in because its a bit of a hike, with steep stairs winding up the cliffs. The views were spectacular and you could literally hike along the beach to underneath the bridge. I definitely will be back. Side note though is I had no idea that this is a “nude beach” and was surprised to see naked guys sunbathing upon my return back to the batteries. Apparently the few families that were there with their small children didn’t know either lol guess we need to do more research on areas we travel. There were no creeps or anything and they stayed pretty tucked away from the crowds of people. It didn’t bother us at all. It really is the best view of the bridge. I recommend visiting this place. It was awesome.

Beautiful beach but too crowded, it's very small and the sandy part of the beach is very small so there is no a lot of place to sit

Make sure to check the tides if you are visiting. If there are above average to king tides beach is non existent

  • 5/5 Corey M. 4 years ago on Google
It's a little hike down and back up especially if one wants to get close to the bridge ? itself but it's all well worth it. The sand near the bridge ? has breathtaking views and spectacular photo opportunity. Parking can be problematic on nice weekend days and traffic getting there is usually slow but even that gets somehow forgotten after visiting such special place. The beach ? itself is nude and mostly gay except for occasional tourists. I am not sure if the dogs ? are allowed, let alone off leash but we didn't find any problems running around without a leash but we did try not to bother the beach ? goers either.

(Translated by Google) One of the best beaches I've ever been, despite the poor infrastructure. Definitely the best naturist beach, it is very good to remove all clothes and connect with nature 100%. The view of the Golden Gate is wonderful and watched the sunset there more than once.

Spectacular. The trail is a little steep and has a lot of steps, but it's definitely worth it. Always windy. Pay attention to the waves and the tide, especially on the next small beach among the rocks (Baker beach).
