Beautiful park with ample seating. This park has a few historical objects and plenty of stadium-style seating, so you can have an unobstructed view of the cove. The cove is open to people with non-motorized craft and swimmers. It's clean and peaceful and if you like parks, you should go here. If you're in one of Ghirardelli Square's restaurants and there's nice weather out, consider taking your order to go and eating it here.

A pleasant bayside stop while you're in the area for Ghirardelli Square. It's literally right next to it and it's well worth a stop, if only to people watch or to enjoy the smell of the salt in the air. The bleachers are a comfortable spot to relax at in the afternoon while the shade is over it. There's a clear view of Alcatraz right in front of you. There's gardens, museums, and a generally clean sidewalk. You'd be hard-pressed not wanting to at least sit and enjoy a relatively quiet and peaceful spot in SF.

Great place to swim, ride a bike, do a little shopping. And if you do go buy aquatic Park you need to get an Irish coffee at Buena Vista, and ride the cable car. Parking can be a little challenging but well worth a trip. I rented a bike at the sports basement nearby and rode around the city on the bike!

off and on rain but that didn't stop the die hard swimmers...dolphin club I'm guessing. I count 13 in the water

Beautiful area where you can access or see the beach, Ghirardelli, Alcatraz, Maritime Museum and much more. Watch the sailboats, windsurfers, and kite boarders as well. It's near Pier 39.

Beautiful park with an awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcratraz and beyond. Across the street from Gharadelli Square and historic Yueba Buena Cafe where Irish coffee was supposedly originated. One block away is Columbus Ave. There are wonderful eating spots there

Beautiful spot. Easy access. Has a small beach. Good place for kids as water is shallow. One of my favorite spots in the city. Close to Fisherman's Wharf. Free.

What's not to like here? You've got a large stretch of walkable open space, you've got the bleachers when you want to take a rest and just people watch, and there's a lot of people to watch! You've got the beach and bay with people who actually swim in there at those cold water temperatures and it's a tradition to ring in the New Year with a mind shocking freeze swim! You've got the Aquatic Park Pier aka Muni/Municipal Pier that stretches far into the bay where you can take in panoramic views of San Francisco from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge. You've got the well celebrated Alcatraz Island right out there in the Bay. And a little known history hidden in plain sight in the smaller pier next to the Aquatic Pier, it's Pier 4 Original Alcatraz Pier where prisoners, staff, and supplies embarked enroute to Alcatraz Island back in the days. Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, and Fort Mason is just a hop skip and a jump away, and if you rode your bike, you can continue on the pedestrian/bike friendly route all the way under the Bay Bridge onwards to Oracle Park, and if you're really gamed, continue onto the home of the 2022 NBA Champs, the Golden State Warriors' Chase Arena. Or go the opposite direction and soak in Crissy Field then continue up the hill onto the Golden Gate Bridge......but I digress! Just Do IT!

Cute little beach infront of Ghirardelli. Water was warmer than other beaches in the city and not much of a ride so great for kids who want to swim! Views of Alcatraz are also great. Only wish it was bigger

A unique, beautiful little respite from the city. I always enjoy watching the hardy swimmers with children playing on the beach ...container ships, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge as a sureal backdrop.

I fish here from time to time. I wish they would fix the seaboard railing. That would be nice and safer.
