The place to go for mountain bike nuts! Enjoy the walk through history and meet Joe Breeze. For those interested, also go and book in with Mark at Hero Bikes for a guided mountain bike trail session over a couple of hours. Mark operates out of the same building. An afternoon well spent doing both activities. 😎

Had to drop off my rental bike next door and chatted with the guy at the counter. Super friendly staff, really awesome setup and definitely recommend a tour and buy a t-shirt!

Well, I waited years to get here and was not disappointed. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Such a great group of people helping tell the story of the history and development of the mountain bike and it's community. Excellent displays and information on a wide range of cycling. If you're in the area, please go even if you're not a cyclist it's just great. Many thanks

A must for every mountain bike fan. During our visit, we had a lovely chat with the museum operator and inventor of the first modern mountain bike, Joe Breezer. Before we set off on the trail of the Repack Race with rented bikes.

Super cool looking place from what we could tell by the window views. Apparently it’s closed for annual renovations until Feb 1 2024. Bummer as we drove 1.5 hours to visit and the summary page of Google did not indicate it was temporarily closed. We should have called first but it was a quick decision to make the trek. Nonetheless, we’ll try for another day.

What an incredible place. We got the amazing opportunity of hearing from one of the founders of modern mountain biking- Joe Breeze. What a humble genius! The bikes were top notch and we spent an easy few hours admiring them.

Absolutely loved this. There can't be many places in the world that can even imagine giving this sort of experience. Beautiful bikes, good vibes, and got to spend an hour with a living legend, Joe Breeze. Amazing.

Worth the hype. Pretty affordable to get in, around $10 per adult. They have XC World Cup winning bikes, Tour de France bike, vintage bikes, all sorts of race winning bikes & the first bikes to ever be written in Marin county.

A great place to visit! Not just mountain bikes but a significant collection of historical road bikes also. Joe Breeze, credited with building the first purpose built mountain bike, has his second Mt. Bike built on display here... the first is at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. We were lucky enough to have Joe Breeze lead our tour and you could not ask for a more knowledgeable and personable tour. Expect to spend 1.5 to 2 hours here... the collection is that good! A “Must Visit” when you are visiting Marin County. Check their website as they periodically hold special events and host knowledgeable speakers.

There is magical history here beautifully displayed! The names included names from Gino Bartali to Joe Breeze! All that was missing during my spin (pun intended) around the museum was time...

An amazing museum with amazing works of art and history. Highly recommended if you like two-wheeled recreational off-road mechanical contraptions (mountain bikes) ;).

For anyone who is interested in cycling or mountain biking this is a treasure trove of history, including the volunteers who run the place. They are Legends themselves in the history of mountain biking.

This was an unexpected gem we encountered during our bike tour along the Pacific Coast. Enter the door and be immersed in incredible histories about the bicycle in general and the mountain bike in particular. The staff is super friendly as well. Do not miss!

Marin Biketoberfest is a must. Put it on your calendar for 2024. Great event. Bicycling for all cycling types and for everyone. Road biking. Mt biking. Family biking. Awesome beers from multiple breweries. Kombucha vendors. Food trucks. Great live music. Bicycle vendors. Fabulous time for all. Kudos to the organizers. Lot of work and you've pulled it off. Well done Marin County Bike Coalition. The Bike Museum is a cool place to visit.

Had the privilege to have a guided tour by Joe Breeze! It was the best day of my MTB life 🤩 Just go! It is so interesting, so much history and such a good vibe from this place! ✌️

Amazing collection of vintage and antique bikes, including photos, info and much documentation. The young man working there was very nice, letting me come in to sit (without paying the entrance fee) on a very warm day, and gave me water to drink. I was very impressed by the large collection and spent quite some time marveling at the very old bikes and the beautiful vintage ones. In addition, I especially enjoyed the section on women pioneers in mountain biking.
