A hidden park with lots of benches and space for a picnic. Bring your dog for some off leash fun in designated areas. Check out the fragrant 100 year old eucalyptus trees that line Lagana street. There are trees throughout the park that offer shade on hot days.

Such a cute park - perfect for a midday walk. It helps that it doesnโ€™t get too crowded as well. Usually just neighborhood people.

From flatland Chicago - the slanted hill and views from the park are amazing. I periodically sit in the grass and enjoy my lunch. A few homeless harmless people but this is the reality of SF. I will not walk through at night due the unforseen darkness & unthinkable & imaginable circumstances in the park. Overall I love it ๐Ÿ˜Šโฃ It is green, clean and relaxing. I enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰ seeing the dogs ๐Ÿ• off the and enjoying it too. Owners must learn to pick up after their babies ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿค”๐ŸคจโœŒ๐Ÿฝ

It's an okay medium sized park, super pet friendly. Tennis and football lovers, you will find courts right next to this place.

Jefferson square Park is another beautiful job in the city of San Francisco the city by the Bay does a phenomenal job with their Parks and recreation even and what is considered the lesser desirable areas of the city which may personally love those areas in find the true beauty in them and value thank you however even in those not so desirable spots our Parks and rec are on the ball with taking care of the upkeep of our parks in Jefferson square the same can be said Jefferson square does seem to have a bit more of a tourist influence give him a location and it is staffed during business hours and weekdays

I love this park! I donโ€™t know why, but to me it always has a slight air of mystery about it, itโ€™s kind of ..romantic. Not sure that makes a lot of sense , but it does to me. I like how it has multi levels and different areas , it almost takes you by surprise (the good kind). The central grass area is nice and big , great for doggies (itโ€™s surrounded by smaller grass areas, if you maybe have a smaller dog. I love how it has a bunch of different paths to walk around it, great for a stroll while thinking about nothing, or for a workout run/jog/walk. Someone always would say hello to me while there , which was nice and unexpected .

Park is normally chill atmosphere. At times, dog-side is fairly busy. Though if your looking for more of pedestrian walking park. Id choose another as this place is pretty small.

THE park for our 15-lb fur baby who.loves to play fetch, but fears losing her ball to larger rambunctious dogs. So it's large, not fenced in, has lots of pedestrians and walkers, yet not too many other dogs around - that can be trusted to go unleashed, in the higher left quadrant. Lots of grassy room from shady to sunny, flat to rolly, with benches along paved walking path... for two or three other readers on mats, and two or three other dogs with attentive parents, each and every time we've been there, from 30inutes to 60 minutes. Quite yet safe enough for everyone to enjoy.

Nice park with access to a large clean, great lawn with lots of shade and picnic areas has the traditional benches and water fountains. The area is quaint, with a big city feel! Nice place for a stroll.

A Peaceful Retreat in the Heart of San Francisco I recently visited Jefferson Square Park, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The parkโ€™s location in the heart of San Francisco makes it easily accessible to both locals and tourists alike. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the lush greenery and well-maintained pathways. The park offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. I noticed a good number of benches and shaded areas, which provided ample seating options to rest and enjoy the surroundings. What impressed me the most was the range of amenities available. The playground area seemed to be a hit with children, and I saw many families enjoying their time together. The well-kept basketball court and tennis courts were also popular among sports enthusiasts. One highlight of the park was the vibrant community garden. It was evident that a lot of effort had been put into maintaining the garden, with a diverse selection of plants and flowers. Taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of the garden was a real treat. Additionally, I noticed the park had clean restroom facilities and ample trash bins, which contributed to the overall cleanliness of the area. On my visit, I also stumbled upon some community events taking place. Itโ€™s evident that the park plays an essential role in bringing people together and fostering a sense of community in the area. While the park is relatively compact, the clever use of space and the variety of activities it offers make it feel more extensive than it is. I had a genuinely enjoyable time at Jefferson Square Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape from the bustling city life. Overall, Jefferson Square Park offers a well-maintained and tranquil environment, making it an excellent destination for individuals, families, and friends to unwind and enjoy nature in the heart of San Francisco.

Seemingly clean at first glance, but then the rats scurry within and to and from the bushes. Verdant because of the deluge of rain, there're places to sit and feel safe because the sheriff's department is at one end of the park.

Watch your step (just like everywhere else in the city,) needs a 24 hr Porta potty at least. Years ago I loved this park, now not so much. Watched as someone stole a car off the street . He was lucky it wasn't my car.

One of my favorite parks in the area that I didnโ€™t appreciate until I got a dog! Theres a really nice off leash section, and lots of space for picnics. There is a recreational area with basketball, tennis, soccer fields and playground with public bathrooms right across the street. The park is somewhat on a slope so you can watch the sunset, a pickup soccer game, or the sunset over San Francisco. I take one star off due to the steady amount of trash people dump into the bushes of this park. Consistently I (* my dog) will find pieces of food trash thrown into the bushes, and I constantly have to grab things out of his mouth. Hope people can take care of this park better so that we can all enjoy it!

Walked thru the park on the way to visit a friend in the area. It was a sunny but cold day, but the green of the grass and the blue skies made for a pleasant, scenic, peaceful place to rest in the midst of SF.

Great City park in perfect location especially if you live downtown but need a close dose of nature ๐ŸŒณ... There's plenty of space to walk; paved paths as well as grass, benches to enjoy city views, meditate, have a picnic lunch, read, etc... Also have an off-leash dog play area big enough to play catch w/your dog, let him get the city-living anxiety out by running & exercise, play "chase" w/doggie pals, as they โค to do๐Ÿ˜.

Beautiful park , dog friendly, but sometime you can see some aggressive homeless people sitting and smoking there with their carts and tents.

I took my Dog for a walk at about 5:30am at this location and I think that it is the only park in the Bay Area that the homeless have not taken over and destroyed it

Went here for a volunteering and picnic. It's a huge park which also has extended basketball and soccer playing areas. Could spot a lot of varieties of birds; if you love bird-watching do get your binoculars.

Great scenic park with steep hills added along paved paths for a good city work out. Many dog walkers also.

Good park! Too small to feel like an escape from the city, go to Golden Gate Park for that, but a solid breath of fresh air. Plus, the dog area is a delight!

Jefferson Square is a nice urban green space but not in the same rank of nearby urban parks like Alamo Square, Alta Plaza and Lafayette Park. The hilltop views are mediocre, the neighborhood is borderline sketchy (hence) the vibe is less fun and energetic, even the playground and big sports complex across the street seem underutilized. It could be nice to take a walk or run across or around the park but to be honest I don't feel like to stay for a long time.
