This is a great, mostly Latino children's playground for the Tenderloin community. There is a lot of new equipment to climb on, it is well-maintained and monitored by on-site staff. The city should change the name from park to playground. Activities for adults are limited, but on certain days there is yoga, COVID testing, nutrition talks, and other things. See the weekly schedule sign at the entry. Open only during daylight hours and special events. All the monitors are women, but beware of the large Latino man who does security outside the park. He is 6ft 2in or more, 250lbs+, and dressed like he is with Urban Alchemy, but had no group ID. He hides behind sunglasses and a facemask. He has tattoos on his neck. He bullies people by ordering them away from the playground and off the sidewalk. He claims to have a guard card and threatens people by saying that he carries a gun. This is excessive and ridiculous when observers are just watching the kids play. There is no Probable Cause for his behavior. No sure if there were restrooms. This is not a park for dogs; small area with 2 outdoor tables for a picnic, but no lawn. Didn't see a bbq grill.

Predominantly this is a park for children. Creatively, the park was designed with themes in mind. The blue Smurf-like astroturf is symbolic of the ocean (it is also very shockproof so if a child falls the astroturf protects against impact and injuries) whereas the jungle gym is the lighthouse, boardwalk and ship complete with masts and planks. There's also areas to sit and draw or play games or walk the pathway around the perimeter of the park. There are plenty of benches, seats and tables for parents to sit, rest and observe their child from a short but navigable distance. There are various programs and activities throughout the week for all ages. The park is open from 8am to 7pm and entrance to the park is limited to children and an accompanying adult, with the exception of 12pm - 2pm where adults may enter without a child to have lunch or escape the surrounding urban fast paced life-style.

This is a great place to take children. The have the usual kids play stuff and there's almost always a parent with a kid inside. It's a gated small park so your children won't get lost

Pretty cool they have a huge golden gate bridge for kids to play on, they seem to have several riding toys/scooters, there appears to be a safety monitor present and personally, I only go here to use the french "space-toilet"

My son loves this park. I like the security of it by having city staff sitting @ the greeting table adjacent to the entry door. A staff member will also open the gate for you as you enter & exit the park. The park also comes with a few tricycles to ride on in addition to balls of a different sizes & sports to play with.

Very clean and safe park, always city staff on deck, no misfits, or challenged person's allowed (sidewalk dwellers) sometimes the city staff will have activities for the kiddos. I bring my daughter age 5

This is a beautiful new children's park that allows adults to take classes there. The Healing Well has a gentle movement class on Tuesday at 1:00pm. This class is free and everyone is welcome.

Beautiful park, lovely in the middle of a city full of concrete! (Not that concrete's bad, that's what city's are primarily made of)

Cool park I like that it's been updated and it's a green park I believe and there's always an attendant keeping watch for the families safety.

I am giving it a low rating because I think it is a terrible place for a children's park right in the heart of the tenderloin. In the alleyway adjacent are homeless encampments and the same block boasts a strip club, smoke shop, bar and Motel 6 as the only other businesses.

This park was an oasis in a sea of crazy. It had some nice shade and benches and tables to eat at. Fun things for kids to play on. It was very clean.

So fun for everyone i. The family to enjoy on a sunny day. The kids go wild for the playground ( i want to the tire swing a go, im not going to lie) but as hopefully many of you know kids only!! Lol but the grass area was a hit with my pup she went crazy over the field and i met some super friendly dog owners and we exchanged some fun go to dog friendly areas nearby. Fun times:)

It's kind of funny to have a playground across from a strip club. But it's the tenderloin, and the strip clubs were there first. The playground is staffed with kind and conscientious people, cleaned, the Museum of craft and design supplies craft kids for kids to do while there. It's really a nice thing for families who live in the area and after school there are usually tons of kids of all stripes. They usually have free books too.
