Step back into decades past and enjoy greasy-spoon classics — updated without the grease. Wooden booths, vinyl bar seating and pineapple with cottage cheese evoke a 1950s feel. Standard diner sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast and egg platters. The burger well-cooked, savory and served with an all-encompassing special sauce. Yummy and creative sides include a garlicky mac and cheese or a Thai sesame salad. Breakfast burrito, a real treat. Prices very, very reasonable.

Hits the spot every time and the menu is very vegan/vegetarian/lactose intolerant friendly! The potato nebulas, chef's mess and pancakes are always solid. The prices are also very reasonable too!

Hole-in-the-wall with an amazing breakfast. Perfect place to do SF like a local if you're in from out of town. Try the Nebulous Potato Thing. You'll thank me.

First time in San Francisco, this was our first stop of our arrival. We found this location on Google and decided to give it a try. Customer service was amazing! They were very friendly. Food was GOOD! Big portions and best of all, they had vegan options. The only downside, they didn’t have vegan mac&cheese during that time. Other than that, cute little spot. Highly recommend.

I was disappointed by my experience at this establishment. The corned beef hash could have benefited from more time spent roasting the potatoes and grilling the beef for added crispness. The French toast was enjoyable, but also could have been improved by additional time on the grill for a desired level of crispiness. On a positive note, the side potatoes were a standout aspect of the meal. While the prices are reasonable, the overall quality of the food was lacking.

We enjoy taking friends and family from out of town here for brunch to experience the good old American diner feel establishment that’s still offers pretty economically priced menu. My favorite item on the menu as of now is the reuben sandwich.

Me and my family have been there 2 times, both times where amazing! We love the coffee here, the price and the service. The food was delicious, I had the Chefs Mess the first time (very cheese) and had the Florentine Benedict’s the second time (the sauce was unforgettable). The people here is friendly, the restaurant was FULL on a Sunday morning, despite this pressure the food kept its quality and the staff was friendly. Our food was served in less than 15 mins, coffee served before 5 mins. Will definitely come back!!!

Food was very good, wasn’t a fan of the Mac n cheese but the prices are great.

Went early on a Friday... it was pretty empty. Everyone was friendly, and food came out quickly. They were all tentative and kept checking in on me and others. I ordered the corned beef hash with poached eggs and rye bread, added mushrooms with a side of ranchero sauce 😋 delish. Can't wait to go on the weekend to have hollandaise with my corned beef hash.

Probably the best breakfast you'll get for the price in SF. I got the sausage, egg and pancake combo and it was good. I came on a Saturday morning so things were busy and the service didn't feel particularly friendly but it could be explained by the business. I'll be returning and hoping things will be friendlier next time

Love the vegan options! Large, cheap mimosas always warrant brownie points. I got the vegan mess with soyrizo and although it's deserving of its name, it was hearty and delicious! I have also had the tofu scram with ranchero and soyrizo, but it was a miss in comparison. The only other critique is the sourdough; we live in SF, we can do better than average, flimsy store-bought sliced bread! Otherwise, super tasty with lots of options for people of all dietary preferences. Can't wait to try the milkshakes next time!

This establishment is darling! A blast from the past with friendly service and great food! There are two dining areas, both decorated cute. Many vegan, dairy-free, and gluten free options here! I ordered the vegan mess. Note, the soy-rizo is likely not GF! So ask the waiter. I’d absolutely come back here for breakfast or brunch!

Dining at the St. Francis is like stepping into a time machine and traveling back about 50 years. Pick a cozy booth or sit at the counter where your can watch your root beer float or chocolate shake being prepared or sneak a peek inside the payphone booth. Then Reminiscence about the good old days as you soak in the ambiance while sampling the breakfast or lunch selection. Don't forget to buy some trading card packs (gum included), sweet tart straws or wax lips from their plentiful selection and be sure to hurry on back, ya hear!?!

Came for breakfast, friendly and fast service and tasty Huevos Rancheros. Would definitely return.

Old school diner with original breakfast dishes and a friendly staff. Portions are large and the price is good, so you'll leave happy. Come on a weekday to avoid the weekend rush. I ordered the Chef's Mess which is an amalgamation of potatoes, eggs, onions, mushrooms, melted cheese, and topped with sour cream and tomatoes. Meal comes with a side bread, I was recommended the banana bread and was not disappointed; served toasted and perfect with a little butter.

The food and service here are excellent. I was super impressed with the freshness of the scramble I ordered, and the banana bread is killer. Highly recommend. The weekend special eggs benedict with avocado is also very good. There will be a wait on the weekends but it moves pretty fast and once seated, service is quick and friendly, and the coffee is good.

Went there for brunch and loved the place. It looks like it's been there forever and I liked the decorations. A classic diner. We ordered the chef's mess, the nebulous potato thing and some pancakes. They were delicious!! I also had a root beer float and I loved it a lot. Their ice cream is just perfect. The service is really friendly.

Had a good ahi tuna sandwich (needs aioli) and delicious chicken cilantro soup. (prefer corn instead of potato). Excellent whipped cream on the shake. Good service. We'll be back. Cheers!

Very good breakfast, not expensive. We came on Sunday morning at 9 to be sure to get a table, we had a nice time.

Great food - had the pancakes with egg & bacon, then had to come back a second time for the breakfast burrito. Highly recommend this place!
