so much fun!!! Did the full day and it was 110 percent worth it. Followed the guided audio tour from 10:30 -2:30 then stopped for lunch and finished the tour around 4:30. The guided audio is so great. We also got the iPad which I'd recommend. Super easy to drive. Felt pretty safe and easy to stop off wherever you want for photos or food. The areas of the tour are pretty slow roads so we never felt pressured to go too fast and were never overwhelmed by traffic. The tour hits all the highlights of San Francisco and allows you to go off route if there is something you really want to see.

Best thing to do in San Francisco. We booked it online and signed all the papers electronically. The car was ready shortly after we watched the safety video. We loved how you can tour SF at your own pace. We were able to park the car and explore different parts of the city. Both my husband and I drove it and didn’t feel rushed or unsafe on the streets. It was so much fun definitely recommend it.

It's a must do for everyone, even locals. You will learn something new about the city and also just fun driving in a little car ! I suggest you reserve ahead of time, they usually have deals for early in the day, and with no traffic especially on weekends it's the best time to do it. The Audio tour is good, could be better, but definitely need 3 hours or so to fully explore, so plan accordingly so you don't have to rush it. Check the GPS and audio tour before you get too far so you can replace the car if it's not working, that could give you a hard time. They also have a "Sports Car" version of the cars, they look super cool, but are more expensive and you definitely need to reserve ahead, otherwise it'll be gone.

I bought a 4-hour GoCar Tour experience for my boyfriend's birthday. We both live in the City and would see these little yellow cars driving around on the weekend and my boyfriend thought it would be fun to do this ourselves. I was a little skeptical only because we already live in SF and aren't 'tourists.' But, we had a blast! There were so many new facts we learned about the City thanks to the included GPS (we named her Sunny) and sites around the Golden Gate bridge we've never seen before. I would definitely recommend purchasing a tour for more than 2 hours. I can't imagine only having the GoCar for an hour. There is so much to see and the usual SF street traffic eats away at time. Our 4-hour experience was the perfect amount of time and allowed us to stop at a few places for photo-ops and even Golden Gate Park for a 30-minute picnic. My only complaint was the disorganized process of obtaining the GoCar. I made an appointment 2 weeks before online for a Saturday morning at 10 AM. We arrived on time and didn't leave the office until 11:15 AM with our GoCar. I overheard the staff talking about being overbooked and "not having enough keys." Luckily, we got our GoCar, but there were so many people behind us for their tours that I don't think everyone actually got a car that day. Definitely arrive early, and opt for the morning tours. Expect to wait awhile. I would still say it's worth it and made for a very fun memory!

We did the early bird 3 hour tour. It was so fun and so amazing. We saw so many landmarks. Highly recommend this, but do longer to really take in everything! Super easy to drive and felt very safe. Such a fun way to see the city!!! Drive down Lombard St!!!

Pretty interesting experience for me and my wife. Especially loved the curvy downhills at Lombard Street. Be early so that you will miss the heavy traffic. They have a marker before the Golden Gate to made a U-turn, and we followed the Lombard Street segment, making it back with 7 minutes to spare. And most roads were easy to clear, with vehicles generally willing to give way to GoCars. Probably only issues (or rather be careful) are: 1) The side mirrors aren't exactly firm, so take note when changing lanes. 2) The roads are bumpy at max speeds, take care when doing videos or photos along the route. 3) It's hard to hear your partner or the audio when going around at high speeds, so take it easy. 4) For those not used to driving in the US, the roads are relatively safe to drive, but some overtaking is required where vehicles are parked anywhere. 5) It's difficult to navigate and drive solo, since the tablet is far right. But it's really fun, didn't expect to enjoy it and was worried. Will take another personal trip to Lombard again.

I rented a GoCar for my birthday in San Francisco. Less than a mile away from the GoCar rental facility, the car that my sister and I were in shut off. We couldn’t get it to start back up. It was a horrible experience because we stopped (involuntarily) at the corner of a light. The car was blocking traffic and city buses, so we had to push it out the way. Customer service was very lacking when I called for help. They eventually brought us a 2nd GoCar, but stopping cost us over 30 minutes. Additionally, the different routes feel a bit like a purposeful set up. The GPS doesn’t tell you which way to turn to stay in the route you chose. I would recommend writing down those specific directions because it’s really easy to forget. My group and I ended up getting confused, and we took the wrong route back. This caused us to be charged for a lot more time. Overall, the cars are fun, but I don’t think the experience was worth the price I paid especially considering the car breaking down.

Great experience! We rented the V car (it's the long matte black one that can go on the highway) for the 3 hour tour across the golden gate bridge to Sausalito. What an absolute blast! If you can spare a little extra $$, it's well worth it! We drove across the bridge, had lunch on the water in Sausalito, and drove back across the bridge and then down the famous Lombard street. GPS navigation was perfect and we never got lost. Not to mention the car itself is very fast and fun to drive. If we come back to SF, we will 100% do it again!

We love the GoCar ride it’s pretty cool. We’ve seen most of the top must see sights. I recommend getting the 3 hour or more so you can stop for 5-10 mins on each area and explore a bit or take pictures. This will also give you opportunity to stretch your legs so you don’t get cramps in between. The GoCar is kind of small and the seat will get uncomfortable in the long run. So getting out for a selfie or explore the area will help. You don’t need to worry about traffic the navigation will only take you to east road with less traffic. The navigation was very easy to follow and if you get off tract the navigation will tell you so. The check in process was quick the staff were accommodating and friendly. You should pay attention to the video it’s a guide how to navigate the vehicle. I suggest keeping a slow speed so you can enjoy the scene and vicinity instead on focusing on your driving skills. Also don’t forget to set your timer when you leave and empty your bladder. overall we enjoyed this ride so much we fill like we’re a kid again.

We had a great time touring San Francisco with our own, personal little go car. We had a lot of fun waving to the crowds like we were celebrities, and learned things about San Francisco that we never knew. Plus it was great finding little hidden gems we never knew existed before! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to tour without the crowds of a bus!

We had an amazing time on our GoCar! We rented 2 weeks ago and would 10/10 recommend to anyone considering this. We did a 3hr rental and it went by very fast! We chose not to stop at the Golden Gate Bridge because we were biking it later in the week...this allowed us more time to explore some other things. I was nervous about driving it, but it wasn't bad at all. Other drivers are very patient and accommodating...unlike here in the south! I wish we had enough time on our trip to rent one for a 2nd time! The audio portion was informative and helpful. Very well done. The turning directions are spot on too!

We had a fantastic time in our go-car and found it an excellent way to experience the city. I only knock of a star due to the rather rubbish staff at the hiring location who didn't explain things very well and quickly disappeared instead of helping out. I had to shout a few times to get someone to explain the handbrake to me. I also think the pricing should get cheaper the longer you keep it as we ended up taking many of the suggested detours and in the end we paid quite a bit more (which if we'd pre-arranged we could have had it for the whole day for that cost).

This was so much fun! We bought a go city pass and had the opportunity to do this for free with that! We traveled all over for the hour tour we went to Lombard street and down the the San Francisco bridge!

I would say, it’s a MUST DO for anyone who’s visiting in San Francesco. There’s so much fun!! You gotta pick different lengths of tours to explore the city with this cute yellow GoCar. There will be audio, or a tablet if you upgrade your car, introducing different sightseeing and spots along the way. We were amazed how accurate the GPS was. I recommend doing it earlier in the day as it gets chilly once the sun goes down. It’s better if you book your time ahead of time, if you wanna do walk-in, call first. It’s likely the have availability. After a long form and waiver, you would watch a 5-10min video teaching you how to drive the “car”! Spoiler alert, there is no reverse so you would have to pull back which would get REALLY funny when you are actually doing it on the street haha

This tour was great! The GPS literally told you exactly where to go, if you stay on track you definitely won't get lost. Make sure you watch your time when you stop at locations or you won't be able to stop and see everything.

Loved this experience and would 100% recommend to anyone. We did the 3 hour thinking that would be enough and wish we had done the full day and would recommend that to anyone. My only knock was lack of information both at the start as well as on the gps. The amount of recommended stops is high and there is no explanation of time remaining to get back following the route so you have no idea if you will make it back in time if you stop. Otherwise 5 star experience and very fun.

Rented the faster VanderHall for a morning 3 hour tour of the city. Did lots of side tours and ended up driving over 4 hours. I got about an hour free for the morning deal. Fantastic way to view the city. The staff was super friendly. The GPS guidance is excellent to keep you on route in a strange city.

This was so much fun and I’m so glad we did it. We paid for the full day so we could take our time, get out and eat, etc. We reserved online and did the waiver then the confirmation email said to arrive at 9:45am. We arrived then but they were closed until 10am. We didn’t get let in the building until 10 and checked in first since we had our waiver done. Then we had to wait for others to check in before they started the safety video. It a little was frustrating to lose an hour of time waiting around, but once we got on the road we had a great time. It was chilly so we had to bundle up. My only regret was that I didn’t bring gloves. The car was easy to drive but a little tight in the turns for two adults. Also, since it doesn’t go in reverse there were about three times we had to get out and push it backwards. Also it’s a bit pricey. Still worth it, we thought.

This is a original way to go around the city! I think it was nice, fun and without a big group of people, what to expect? - It is a bit pricey - The car is small, I don’t recommend to share 1 car if you are too tall or big - The car doesn’t do reverse, you have to go down and pull the car to do reverse - Be careful with the traffic areas - You need a driving license if you wanna drive - It is nice to stop and see different places but it will take a lot of time, we got 3 hrs ride and I still think it wasn’t enough Enjoy!

This was a grand experience. If you check in before 0930, you get 3 hours for the price of 2. This just added to our San Francisco trip. We were able to see several things that we would not have been able to since we were otherwise on foot. We went from Fisherman Wharf, to Crissy Beach and Coit Tower. Definitely worth the money.

We took the 3 hour tour and our only regret was that we didn't reserve 4 hours. We had an absolute BLAST! Can't recommend enough. After adding the basic insurance $19.99, $10 tablet/gps guide (a must) & a couple of other nickel & dime stuff, we paid about just over $200 per person and no regrets! My recommendation to the staff is to assure their customers that there are plenty of bathroom stops along the route that are easy to spot, the beeping sound you hear is your turn signal & going over ALL buttons & switches before driving. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to be picky about the stops you make, and make each stop brief. Three hours goes by VERY quickly. OR you can come back late for an extra cost (don't know how much). Also, we started our tour early, around 8:30am on a Friday and experienced NO traffic. If you're worried about hills, no need. The provided route avoids steep hills.

This is SO MUCH FUN. The 2 hour tour is a bit of a rush and you don’t have much time to stop and take pics esp if Lombard street is busy. We loved it though! So so much fun

This is an amazing way to experience The City! Highly recommend. Few tips: 1. Make sure you have a jacket. 2. Go with a passenger; it’s much more fun that way. Also helps to have someone who can help track the GPS while you focus on driving. 3. Our GoCar was a quite noisy. A newer GoCar might improve your experience since I’m guessing ours was noisy because it was quite old.

👍👍 Overall this was a great way to experience Alcatraz. From the moment we got on the boat, to the moment we returned from the island, it was fun and educational.
