This is one of the most unprofessional and incompetent clinics I have ever been to. When I had a problem with my retina and called to get a referral to a specialist, they referred me to an optometrist....when I clearly asked to be referred to an ophthalmologist. When I scheduled a blood test they sent me to a free clinic that isn’t even in my network or the correct address...then when I called to let them know I will be late because they gave me the wrong address the receptionist just says, “what?? I don’t have an appointment for you and we don’t draw blood on Tuesdays”. This is one of the worst clinics you will ever encounter. Don’t go here.

One of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. I changed my PCP to one of the the doctors at this clinic. Call to try and make an appointment because I am in need of medical care. They insist that I show up in person, with proof of address, proof of income and proof of insurance to “register” as a new patient. I eventually get down there a couple days later, wait around for an hour before they get me “registered”. I ask to make an appointment to see that doctor and they tell me the soonest available appointment is a month away. Would have been useful to know that over the phone a few days ago. Meanwhile I’m experiencing a medical issue that is not being treated and I’m back at square one trying to find a doctor.

I liked this place at first. But after presenting the same concern to the nurse practitioner 3 separate times and her telling me that everything was fine and there was nothing wrong with me I decided to change and I went to UCSF. I now have the most amazing medical care I have ever had in my life. And there is something wrong and it is being cared for and it's not in my head. That was disconcerning and I'm so happy that I went to UCSF. That is truly the most amazing Medical Center that I have ever seen or known. So if you have medi-cal and a second provider who works with UCSF I highly recommend finding a primary care doctor there.

I have to emphasized that the staff of this clinic have not only break their work ethic but also lost of compassion for patients. Very disappointing, my mother went to this clinic two days ago for an appointment and the front desk lady was super rude to her. If you don't have passion of what do, don't mistreat patients just for your egotism. There are tons other people who are willing to take your place and have passion to help patients.

Very unprofessional this goes for dental prenatal care and pediatric care. Receptionists are very rude at this location no help whatsoever the only few encounters I had were were very good and sadly and unfortunately when I got my prenatal care resolved I only got to meet Karen who was a wonderful provider but I was short lived with only one month with her but other than that it was a very horrible experience I don’t recommend this clinic for anyone. Went here because I didn’t know where else to go.

The worst clinic ever, everyone there is rude the receptionist at the adult clinic is rude and she should not be there all the nurses there are rude I have gone there and I’ve spent over an hour at the waiting room while they are just talking and laughing and not even working or assisting the patients! Please switch of clinic if you can and don’t go to this one!

This is the truth about this clinica esperanza Firstly, if you are undergoing treatment there, urgently look for another clinic, as they are not at all concerned about your health, on the contrary, they are using you like laboratory rats. I was recommended by a friend, called Diogo Jordao Moya, who I later discovered was linked to dangerous mafias. When I started undergoing treatment, all the staff were always very polite, but I always noticed that there was something wrong with everyone's aura, including Jules Balibrera, who in my opinion is the worst person in this place. She is fake and evil. I have been positive since I was 17 years old, and during 3 years of treatment at Clinica Esperanza, I noticed several failures. One of them was when Doctor Steve said that I could be one of the 200 patients who no longer needed medication for hiv, and that he wanted to do a test with me. That's why he recommended I stay off medication for 3 months, and didn't do any follow-up. I started to get really sick, when I went back to the clinic, I ended up discovering that I had monkeypox. Another woman doctor, who seemed to be ethical, observed that my viral load had increased significantly due to Steven Leiner's test, who is a terrible professional. At that point, this doctor ended up taking my case, but was later dismissed and I never heard from her again. Steven Leiner is one of the most incompetent professionals, that I've ever had during the entire time I've had HIV, and I've been through a lot of them. He has no competence whatsoever to stay in that hospital and uses people to “play” with health, or simply because he has orders from the pharmaceutical industry. What I can call genocide, because everyone knows that gays have active sexual lives and if the viral load is high, you put other people at risk and also your own immunity. After all, you are an immigrant, they are giving you medication for free, so they believe they can play with your physical and mental healthy I was going through very delicate moments, and on several occasions, I asked him and his assistant Ana for help from a psychologist. They never help me, and on February 28, 2023, after discovering that I was being targeted with pornography without consent, sponsor by GAY mafia, I attempted suicide and ended up in a mental institution for more than 4 days. You may believe it or not, but this institution is involved with mafias such as lavanders, (they like to watch videos of positive gays having sex with non-positive people), the pharmaceutical industry, and big Hollywood names. And when the orders comes from this people, the staffs basically do what they ask, include reject attendance, service, help and even medications, cause for several times, I went to get my medications, and they didn’t do the prescriptions, make me waiting 2 or 3 days without medications. Even after all this, I never received treatment or a doctor's recommendation. What I received from this Jules “I’m sorry, you’re going through this”. This person, is evil and doesn't think close to him/she, is an irresponsible health professional, who believes he can play with people. Many times, I was waiting her/him reply for more than 1 month, especially in moments that my life was in risk. The only person who had character and respect, was Marvin Saavedra, was sent away, as he was the only one who helped me clarify after a rich people being stalking me and trying to poison, and terrorizing me, Marvin suggested for me be away from this people, and also explained, that I was being used, manipulated and terrorized by rich people and those in the pharmaceutical industry. He got fired, because he was the only one that helped me, when the orders of Gay Mafia, Hollywood, Lavanders, was reject me and be rude; DUE TO THE TERRIBLE MEDICATIONS THEY GIVEN ME, I HAD A LOT OF DEPRESSION, MY BELLY ENLARGED CONSIDERABLY, AND MY EYES TURNED YELLOW. NEVER GET TREATMENT AT THIS UNIT. THEY WILL PLAY WITH YOUR HEALTH. P.S, JUST GOT ONE MESSAGE FROM THE CLINIC, THANK ME FOR SHOWING UP ON THE APPT. I AM IN BRASIL.

I can't fathom why a Healthcare facility would demand hard-copy Financials before allowing me to book an appointment. In that neighborhood? My brain may be killing itself but. No.

This place is terrible. My dad and husband are always being mistreated here and spoken down to. This place has the rudest front desk staff and the doctors are almost as bad. They DO NOT respect patient privacy at all and make NO EFFORT to be discreet. The guy at the front desk has the worst attitude and seems combative for no reason, not helpful at all. Never feel welcomed here. Switching as of today! Go to South East Health Center! Always great experiences there!

I was try to call my child pediatrician clinic, and they have a system that they transfer you first to a operator only to ask you where do you want to call and later they transfer your call. Doing all this, it take you about 40 minutes just for making an appointment. This is so frustrating because this time they told me that pediatric is already close, and I need to call again later.

We have brought our child to this clinic two times for either stomach ache or fever and every time they insist on vaccinating her, WHILE SICK! It has happened twice and it's very irresponsible and rude for doctors to insist vaccines while a child is sick. I have changed my clinic to another part of town because I simple don't trust them. I was also hung up on by a receptionist from pediatrics for "preguntando si hay alguien que hable ingles" because I prefer to speak in english when discussing medical advice.

I made an appointment to get blood work done and while I was waiting another man with the same last name was sitting next to me. The lady walking into the laboratory snatched the man’s papers from his hands when he presented them to her. The lady working as the phlebotomist called “Gonzalez” in and we both stood up. She kept repeating the last name and when we asked the first name she rolled her eyes and finally said my first name. When walking in there was no words exchanged but I understood that, when I sat down and had my arm out she sterilized my forearm. She dropped something and picked it up and that made me uncomfortable I was gonna ask her at least change her gloves but my fear of needles took over and I froze, another lady complimented my name and asked me questions which I really appreciated because it took my mind off the needle. When she was done she just said “ok you can leave” and I did. I understand this is a nonprofit but that doesn’t mean treat your patients like cash grabs, don’t forget that you work with PEOPLE, yes just get the job done but don’t make people feel like nuisances.

I've only been going to Clinica Esperanza a few months now, the doctors and staff are wonderful. They listen to me and then help me. The last two clinics I went to didn't listen to me didn't help me fix any of my health problems. I didn't think I would get help untill I came to Clinica Esperanza! God Bless this clinic!!

I am extremely happy with Clinica Esperanza. Being there feels more like visiting a friend's than being at a doctor's office. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond with the services they provide.

I found this clinic and doctor thru the insurance portal for my work and when I came in they said they took it, scanned my id and card thinking it was settled. Then I get a bill for almost 500$. I call and leave a message, no response. I get pissed and after a good long while I just called them again. "No insurance on record", which I know is Bs or neglectful error. (there's an error in my name on my insurance card thru my work that's not on my id, bill has it in my name). Thru the whole experience was horrible service, the worst in my life, and I grew up poor in a small town. The next clinic immediately did tests, found something too, go anywhere else. They are to burnt out for quality service or help.

Most of the doctors I've worked with here are great. However, one doctor cost me my driver's license and job by reporting one of my medical conditions to the DMV when it wasn't necessary to report it.

Weird patient management. While I was getting a checkup at the clinic, I was informed by a doctor I had to make another appointment on the same day. The doctor gave me a run down of hours they would be available to make that appointment and I chose the 12:30 option. Upon arriving at the clinic again, I was informed by the person at the front desk that all the doctors were on lunch break. I was left confused as to why they would even have that option to have an appointment when they know they have lunch at that hour. I had to wait an extra hour just to wait for the doctors to come back. I heard this same complaint being made towards another patient.

Tried to make an appointment for both my sons for about two months and was hung up or put on hold for an hour and then up on. We moved to another clinic and mnhc called asking why I hadn't booked an appointment for my kids? Do not recommend pediatric care at this clinic

The people who work in the registration area do not have any education, they yell at someone else, they do not know the quality of the patient's health, it is supposed to be a health unit and we have to be kind because one is sick and they yell at him, we are wrong, they should change of staff this day February 21 the receptionist yelled at me very badly because of that my head hurt a lot and my heart accelerated I am sick and yelling at you and treating you badly ends up making you sick they should change the person at the registration terrible service

I was in a desperate position when I broke my leg three days ago and couldn’t get the needed surgery to fix my broken bone, primarily because I just moved from Utah a few months ago and haven’t had a chance to establish a primary care provider here in SF. So I needed an emergency medical referral to an orthopedic surgeon to perform my bone surgery, and three women stepped up and helped me get the care and referral I needed. I have been rejected by multiple clinics and offices saying they couldn’t take in more patients, and that’s understandable—I know, since I am a healthcare provider too. It just shows how broken the system is and how insurance companies are ruining healthcare. To Esther, Elizabeth, Dr. España, and to the whole team, thank you for being amazing and being helpful. You are what it means to be a healthcare provider, despite the long hours, exhaustion, and low pay, especially during this pandemic, you still show compassion and empathy. I wish I could show my gratitude more.
