This company does not operate a Hop on Hop off bus tour in San Francisco. We purchased a 2 day ticket online and got an email with confirmation and QR code to be scanned. Buying tickets on their said we could get on bus at any stop by show confirmation to driver. We went to bus stop and waited 45 minutes, no bus! Called contact number, but due to staffing the phone was not monitored and it gave email address. Now it an hour no bus. Sent email, saying where we were waiting and ask if there was issues, 20 minutes got a reply saying sorry for delay. Gave me the location of the bus stop which we were standing at and said busses run every 30 minutes. Still no bus. Walk to redemption center about a mile away only to find out this company no longer operates. Where they use to be the Big Bus tour company. They explained Skyline Sightseeing was no longer operating. To add insult to injury Skyline Sightseeing sent an email to say thanks for joining them and please rate our experience. I did!!! They replied other people had been able to join the tour. We were on SanFrancisco 4 days and never saw a Skyline Sightseeing bus. Saw hundreds of Big Bus Tours busses.

If I could give zero stars I would. We booked a hop on hop off bus with Alcatraz tour a month ago with our travel agent in the UK. We were told to confirm the tour with 72 hours before departure. We actually confirmed our tour a week before departure only to be told the date we had booked wasn't available. We were offered the next day but we had another tour booked. We emailed again to ask for alternatives and got no response. Our travel agent tried to sort out with no luck. This could have ruined our holiday as we've travelled along way to see Alcatraz but we managed to get tickets through Viator at double the price. No apology at all. Please do not use this operator.

The Bay Cruise and Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tours were great. They were very informative and the staff for both were excellent. We had an issue and the staff responded to email promptly. The only problem was that we had a problem redeeming the voucher for our tickets for our cruise. Make sure you read all of the fine print on the voucher so that you understand the process and where to go. If they tell you they can't redeem the cruise tickets, they can at the Jefferson Street office. Ask for Isaac if you have an issue.

FALSE ADVERTISING - Paid for 3 day tickets for 4 tours and only got 2 day tickets for 3 tours. Do not use City Sightseeing San Fran whose partner is Skyline Sightseeing and operate with the Big Bus Tours. Our family of 6 purchased 3 day Hop-On Hop-Off tickets with the Alcatraz Package via City Sight Seeing San Fran whose partner at the time was City Tours San Francisco. We went to San Fran at the start of June 2019. On our voucher it detailed that we were to redeem it at City Sightseeing 1331 Columbus Avenue, however when we went there to collect our tickets it was not the City Sightseeing office. We asked around, and found out that they had moved months ago to Taylor St. It was very bad that we were not informed of the office move. We went to the new office to collect our tickets, this office was branded Skyline Sightseeing - we received here more vouchers, ones for Alcatraz that we were doing that day, and the others branded Skyline Sightseeing. We had a great afternoon at Alcatraz however the day was soon ruined when we had to collect tickets, we kept looking round for Skyline buses, however could not see anything with the exception of Big Bus. We spoke to a few people and we worked out that Big Bus Tours was the bus company for Skyline and City Sightseeing. We went to Jefferson St/Mason St, the office of the Big Bus Tours and also stop 1 - a conductor was on the pavement, we gave him our vouchers and he printed us a roll of paper which had the 6 tickets contained within it. We quickly jumped on the bus and when I was going through the ticket, I noticed that it only had 2 day bus passes on it. I quickly ran down the stairs of the bus and said to the conductor, he told me they don't offer that ticket anymore and its only a 2 day pass. I went into the office and said to the manager, they informed me that they no longer offer it - instead they do a two day pass with Madame Taussauds tickets, we said we don't to go there as we have seen it in London. He snatched my tickets, and started going through the roll ripping parts out - this was the Taussauds tickets. I jumped on the bus as my family shouted that it was going and I told them I would be in touch. I drafted an email while on the bus, therefore missing all the sites - on closer inspection I noticed that the original ticket detailed 4 tours, 'Official City Tour, Park and Zoo Tour, Sausalito Tour and the Night Tour however on the maps there was no Park and Zoo Tour. They had dropped one of the tours that we really wanted to see, where they did not notify us. I checked on the terms and conditions of the Worldwide City Sightseeing website where it detailed that if the tours were to change they should publish it - this did not happen, as I searched their social media. I reached out to the company on chat and via email, I even tried ringing them however once you are on hold for 45 minutes and it cuts you to voicemail you are never hearing back from them. In the end we didn't even get to do the Night Tour, as we had planned to do that on the third night as we had plans for the first and second nights. It is now 7 weeks since I sent my initial email - I have not heard a response where I have sent numerous emails asking for a response. I have also forwarded it to the Worldwide City Sightseeing customer services dept who are based in Europe. They say they have to wait for the local manager to respond to them, they also detailed they are having issues with this office and should not be operating under the brand of City Sightseeing. I finally received a chat response back from the San Fran office, they say their staff are trained to tell people that you don't get a 3 day pass, and also that they don't offer 4 tours only 3 tours and that they can't offer a refund. This did not happen, and in any case we should be compensated for the one day that we did not receive and also for there being 1 less day. Very poor customer service, they do not answer the phone or reply to voicemails - they have not once replied to my many emails.

This is one of the best hop on hop off tours I've done. We've used the big bus company in other cities, and this was fantastic. We were able to see everything San Francisco has to over, including going over the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf and so much more. Our ticket also included a evening tour, which took us over the Oakland Bay Bridge, which is equally stunning in it's own right, and gave us beautiful views of downtown San Francisco. We would highly recommend this tour.

Good tour, buses were busy but they came by pretty often so we had no issues all getting seats with a group of 6 of us. Sasalito was a nice little town, we had lunch at Trident right on the water, recommend it.

BEWARE! This is not a legit business. They are on Groupon , allowed me to book my trip (hop on hop of bus) on a Thursday. Emailed me later to tell me only open on Fri thru Mon. They rescheduled me by email, as you can’t reach anyone there in a timely fashion. All locations listed in vouchers of where to pick up tickets have note on doors stating closed. Phone number listed have recording they are closed. I went to address where bus tour was to begin - it never showed. Emailed them to ask how to get my tickets -no response. Groupon less than interested as well...which is most disappointing as they are allowing misrepresentation and false advertising and thus far have not been grr Er mogul in obtaining my refund. Many local operating companies in San Francisco state this company is closed, and was not replicable . Look at reviews....no recent ones in 2020 , however, Groupon still affiliated with? Really? This has been a disaster!!! Big red hop on and hop off better choice as they truly are operating and seemed very professional when searching for this non existent place. They don’t deserve any stars!!

James was a great tour guide. Very informative and funny. The drive across the Golden Gate bridge was beautiful and Muir forest was amazing. We decided to take the ferry from Sausalito. All in all a wonderful trip.

Great Tour! Staff onsite were friendly and informative as well as our driver, Erika. The audio worked perfectly and was easy to understand. It’s helpful if you follow along with the map and route provided at the link. This is an excellent way to get around the city and see several of the more known sites in a day. I will absolutely use them again. Highly recommend!

Tour good. Info bad. Basically there are no Skyline buses despite the picture. They just book through Big Bud tours.

They need to have the cruise ship be specific about where we meet the bus, it delayed our tour for an hour. Other than that glitch the tour was very good.

Booked a half day Muir Woods and Sausalito tour through this company and I had a phenomenal time! I chose this option because I’m traveling solo and the bus trip to Muir Woods ended up being cheaper than renting a car and paying for parking, park entry, and gas. On the way to Muir Woods our driver Lester gave information about a few sights along the route and also stopped briefly near the palace of fine arts for photos. He also let us know when other good photo opportunities were coming up. The woods themselves were incredible though I do wish we had more time (they give you 1.5 hours but I could have easily spent double that time there by going to the end of the main trail and/or up some of the side trails). I chose to get off the bus in Sausalito after Muir Woods and grab some lunch and catch the ferry back to SF. Great experience overall. Just would recommend driving yourself to Muir Woods if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours there.

I really enjoyed this experience, and our guide was also really friendly. He took us to places where the other tour buses usually won’t go to, such as the palace of Fine Arts and the Painted Ladies. It was a bit longer than I thought, but overall we got a nice tour of the city and had a good time.

Worst experience ever! The buses don’t stop where they actually should stop. Additionally, buses don’t come every 30-45 min but every 1 1/2 hours, it they even come. The worst experience however is that the stops they outline are not the ones where they actually stop. So there is no possibility to hop on or hop off as they do stop anywhere but not where they suppose to stop. Again- WORST EXPERIENCE EVER & BIGGEST SCAM!

This company went out of business. No orange busses anywhere to be found. Email, phone, and chat do not work. No response. Do not book with this vendor.

Absolutely loved hop on! The best way to learn the history of the area and get around. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We took the hop on hop off on tours of Muir park, the Golden Gate Bridge with drop off in Sasilito, Chinatown and Pier 39. Not only is it easy it’s very economical. Car rental is not only unnecessary but I’d discourage anyone wanting to try to drive in San Francisco! Sitting on the top of the bus going over Golden Gate Bridge is an experience you won’t forget! Just don’t forget a jacket!

DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY for your tours. We visited San Francisco this past weekend. I had purchased Alcatraz tickets through Expedia (contracted with this company). I purchased the tickets 5 days in advance and had received a confirmation that we were good to go. I called the company the day of the tour to tell them I had not received my actual tickets yet and they told me they were sold out. In fact, the guy on the other end (Skyline Sightseeing) did not apologize and just told me that "Things Happen" and I did not have tickets. He was completely rude and could have cared less that we were there for a short weekend (from Ohio), were totally looking forward to this tour and were excited about it. Worst customer service experience EVER!!! Ridiculous. Do NOT buy tickets from them because they may not have them and could care less if you don't get to go.

👍👍 Overall this was a great way to experience Alcatraz. From the moment we got on the boat, to the moment we returned from the island, it was fun and educational.
