Classic Vietnamese cuisine is indeed very tasty 😋. I’m glad to found this restaurant. The server is polite and prompt. The vegetables and ingredients are fresh. Proteins are not over cooked and texture is made just right. Rice noodles texture is great, neither soggy nor too firm. Marination and seasoning to the proteins and dishes are made right and not too salty. I will revisit again.

Honestly one of the best Vietnamese joints you can go in SF. I really like dining in here because not only their food is great, the decor is very nice and the staff is phenomenal. Silver haired gentleman serving us (i believe his name is Stanley?) is one of the most pleasant people I've ever met! Recommended!!

Amazing food, and generous portions. Don't miss the cha gio. The lemongrass beef vermicelli noodle bowl is great, and anything with the five spice chicken is hard to beat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and service is fast and friendly.

We were recommended by a Vietnamese friend and it was absolutely a great place to go! Wonderful and tasty food and nice service! We definitely would want to go back to try more of their food and would recommend to others as well for good Vietnamese food!

Comforting Vietnamese pho. The broth, which is the key ingredient, is refreshing and flavorful but not salty. You don’t feel thirsty after you eat it which is the key. If there were load of MSG or salt, it might taste fine at first but soon you will feel real thirsty. The rolls are also very tasty. The herbs and cilantro are fresh. There are a lot other items that I have yet to try. I would like to come back again.

I was attracted by these good reviews and this place is nearby the Moscone Center. I ordered the ‘vermicelli noodles bowl with chicken’ and fried cracker shrimp, and Vietnamese coffee. This place has only one waiter to serve ALL tables and guests, of course, you will not get any service. I totally understand how busy and how exhausted he is, but I have to be honest that the experience is terrible. My waiting time is not long, as I came before 12pm. However, after placed my order, I waited for more than 20 minutes for a coffee and the appetizer. I can tell the appetizer was waiting to be served for long time, as they are cold already. Then, I have to wait for another 30 mins for the noodle bowl. I feel bad because the guys came after me already have their food ready to eat. I don’t know how hard for the chef to make the noodle bowl comparing with the pho they ordered. I was really hard to speak to the waiter, and I told him that if the noodle bowl is not ready, I am good to pay the bill and leave, then after 2 mins, it is ready. The chicken is very salty and has kind of teriyaki sauce flavor, no chili sauce for the noodle salad, and the sauce on the top has no taste at all. I was scared to call the waiter as I don’t wanna waste anther 20 mins for the chili sauce. My regular impression of this course should be fresh, chili, with a bit basil and contain fish sauce, but not here. Honestly, the coffee is good, no complain of their coffee. I just feel really upset with this experience, I also feel sorry to the people who stand at the door for 20mins without any attention from the waiter. Well, again, as there is only one waiter, I know how busy he is and I understand it, but it really gives me a bad experience in SF. Maybe I should order a Pho with soup to have a smooth experience, anyway, I don’t have 2 hours to spend in this place next time, I will not come back again.

We arrived a bit after closing hours. Nonetheless, the owner allowed us in and took our order. The food was very nice, service was great and we enjoyed the restaurant just for ourselves!

First and foremost, great GREAT service, especially the server with silver hair (?), who suggested other restaurants to try since I wasn't from SF. Got the beef pho and bun bo hue. Super savoury and delectable. The BBH was at the right spice level and the pho broth was amazing and aromatic. It was such a nice meal on a cloudy day!

For this trip, I only scouted 2 places to eat, one for breakfast and the other for dinner. This was dinner. The reviews were spot on, this was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals and it was way too much food. Sam had the vegetarian pho and I had the bun thit nuong. Best Vietnamese food we have had in a long time. Definitely on the to do list again when next in San Francisco.

Wow. This was a fantastic spot for lunch. The bun bo xao (lemongrass beef vermicelli noodle bowl) was fantastic. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Also enjoyed a limeade to wash it down.

I ate Banh Xeo, Bun cha, Chicken wing roll. The food was different with normal Vietnamese style but it was delicious. The restaurant is a small strong bistro

Food was good, but they forgot to bring out the side dishes and sauce for the Pho. But otherwise a great spot.

casual vietnamese spot in SOMA serving all the classics. the food wasn’t groundbreaking but it was well made and hit the spot. service was top tier and they went above and beyond given the causal nature of the place. lemongrass beef vermicelli: good beef portion and meat was well marinated and grilled. would get again.

I’m surprised by this place! Unique and special - we ordered the Tin roll -with crunchy fried shallot, lemongrass grilled pork and boiled egg in it - is very different from what I normally get from Vietnamese restaurants.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: A decent Vietnamese option downtown. Would I come back: If someone had the hankering and really wanted to go here. The extended review… Food: Fire Cracker Shrimp - 3.5/5 - Pretty tasty dish and of course I love the sauce to dip it in which is on the sweeter side. Shaken Beef - 3/5 - Standard fare in terms of taste. I could have definitely used a bigger portion size. Service: 3.5/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - A pretty standard setting for an asian restaurant in terms of decor.

A Cockroach in my food! The food actually tastes very good and I am a returning customer for numerous times. But today horror struck... As I finish up my Vermicelli Noodle Bowl, there it laid a dead cockroach.... Since it was a take out, there's no use to bring it back to the shop to file a complaint, but I really hope that the owner can address this and do some deep cleaning in the kitchen. I hope to return for the good food one day... 11/22/2023 quick update: the owner reached out to me and offered a refund. They are actively looking into this and promised improvements will be made.

I can't wait to return to Tin! Their Shaken Beef is so delicious. The beef is in large cubes and they are tender and juicy. I have no idea how they stir fried large cubes of beef and make it so tender! The Caramelized Claypot Catfish is great too. The fish is full of flavors. My mouth is watering just from thinking about it. I recommend getting the Hue Roll for the appetizer. The grill pork inside of the roll is crispy and well seasoned which really brings extra texture to the roll. The service is great too. The waitress even offered to let me taste a wine before committing to ordering it. And unlike a lot pho restaurants, Tin is well decorated with great ambiance.

Slightly upscale pho near my hotel. Enjoy so much the special pho with tomato chicken broth. Added crab and pork ball that’s quite unique with some slices of pork meat ham. Ordered the fried 5 spice quail but find it too dry due to overly fried or too small the quail probably. Overall a great place to enjoy the pho for a quick lunch. Food served fast and no lean environment.

Delicious food, and interesting dishes like five spice quail ($13.5). Most of their dishes were pork based but there are some beef, chicken and shrimp options too. We came around 12pm on a Saturday and were able to find seating but the place filled up quickly shortly after. Great service, low key decorations/ambience, you're really there for the food and it's worth it.
