Mt. Davidson Cross

Tourist attraction Historical landmark Monument

👍 The Mt. Davidson Cross is a cool sight to see in the city. I am not religious and still found it impressive. It is hidden among the trees on top of Mt. Davidson and is a short hike to reach, but it is impressive in size. A nice hidden gem with surrounding hiking trails and city views. People often mention city,

A MUST! The hike was beautiful and the site upon approaching the top was absolutely breath taking! Definitely a place of peace upon the chaos of everyday life reminding us WHY we are to love and show kindness in the everyday circumstances!

An awesome place to go explore and hike up to! Only a 5 minute hike and it is super convenient to get to the cross. Worth it to fly a drone or get some awesome shots when it is foggy

There are several different trailheads to Mount Davidson. The trails on the north are narrower, steeper, and sometimes more muddy, but they do give you a more wilderness experience. The trails on the south give you a more gentle climb over wide trails or dirt roads. Views from the top of the hill are spectacular, perhaps even better than the much more crowded (and lower elevation) Twin Peaks.

One of many historical landmarks in San Fran. I’m from the city and it took me 31 years to finally come visit up here so beautiful. Fog is so thick up here, be careful.

This is a serene quiet place out of nowhere. The surrounding are packed with dense tall trees that you cannot see the cross until you are walking right up to it. Be ready to be surprised and enlightened.

During Covid it’s hard to find places where you can socially distance! This place is a hidden gem if San Francisco. The walk up to the top is peaceful and scenic. One can either take stairs or the path - there are multiple paths to get to the top. The view of San Francisco downtown from the top is breath taking. Highly recommend parents with kids. Plenty of space to run around.

It’s a truly a remarkable site, Thanks to Armenians of San Francisco and lawyers who volunteered and was able to save this incredible monument, preventing it from being demolished 🙏🙏🙏. Today was a incredible day to be at that site it’s marked the Armenian genocide April 24 first time ever being recognized by a president of the united state Joe Biden signed the order recognition of United States of Armenian genocide👏👏👏

Steep but short climb to the Cross. Nice view over San Francisco on the way up when there is no Karl (the fog) around.

A hidden gem and the highest natural point in San Francisco. It's just a short light hike from the street, and you are greeted with the best views of the city. The massive cross is tucked away inside of the trees and is quite a sight itself. The spot was also used in the Clint Eastwood film Dirty Harry. Make time to visit this beautiful location!

In a city famous for its hills, a cross stands tall on the highest peak, Mt. Davidson. Truly an inspiring, serene place to visit. Beautiful views of the Bay Area and an excellent opportunity to reflect and learn about the tragedy of the Armenian genocide.
