My go to neighborhood sushi place. Some of my favorites include the hamachi crude with avocado and ponzu sauce, chicken karage that stays crispy until the last piece, baked Domo roll, and assorted nigiri. Be adventurous and order the specials off the board - try the kani(red crab meat), and buttery Walu, or slightly seared hotate (scallop) that has a dab of Yuzu sauce.

Best omakase in my life. The toppings enrich the flavour yet keep it clean and crisp. The fish is fatty but not greasy

This tiny little sushi spot feels like a piece of home. Limited indoor and outdoor seating but the staff treat you like family and are so courteous and helpful. Sushi and appetizers were all spot on and I will definitely be back!

This little neighborhood gem stayed consistent during the pandemic, and Domo continues to be the go-to sushi joint. Everyone seems to enjoy the scrumptious rolls, but the secret of Domo is the exceptional sashimi. Yes, the uni is from San Diego, not Japan, but if you are not THAT picky, this is a place for you! Great service and the sake menu is good!

This place is a small intimate sushi bar with daily specials and good drink options. Located in the heart of Hayes valley. It has a neighborhood feel.

Great hidden gem sushi spot! The fish is always fresh and tasty. The inside is very cute and they have a few outdoor tables as well. They're always very mindful for gluten free and communicative about allergies with the chef. Nice sake selection too!

Great spot for small groups or dates or to catch up with an old buddy or two. Inside is pretty small but there is outdoor seating with heaters and so they are also dog friendly. The servers we had were really nice and patient as we decided what to order. Their sushi rolls are really yummy and well composed. We also got their 8pc onakase and while I've definitely had better omakase in general this one still was alright. Fun fact but I saw Draymond green eating here the next evening!

Fantastic sushi! The salmon citron and the (special) London Roll were out of this world. Extremely fresh and amazing! Plus the firecracker and the Hot Tuna were delicious! Also had the seaweed salad.

I came by myself, the place was half empty. I mentioned my partner is joining soon and it’s 2 people (she was 10-15 min away). They didn’t seat me. I asked if I can have some tea they said no - go wait outside. Going to another spot 🫤 otherwise I used to go there often, great food

This was place was amazing. We ordered so much food and everything was great. Best sushi I've ever had. The firecracker balls were 🔥. I think we had one of everything on the menu. The Orion lager was super good too.

Best sushi in the city hands down. Unbeatable prices for such fresh and delicious sushi. I absolutely adore the staff and have been coming here for 7 years even though I moved further away in the city. I go out of my way to come back here

Had really been wanting to check this spot out & Domo did not disappoint!! Was a perfect cozy date night spot. Super delicious w/ kind workers! Their menu features rotating specials which was nice! Definitely recommend.

Good place with outdoor seating. Sushi was solid but their uni (sea urchin) didn't taste good to me even though it was priced relatively high. The nori of their maki was too moist, which didn't bring good texture. Their sushi rice was nice though!

The older lady working at 8pm on Tuesday, August 30th was extremely rude, prejudice and a racist so Beware! She does not care about customer service and absolutely needs more training.

I've lived in Hayes Valley 18 years so I've seen restaurants come and go. I'm glad Domo has weathered the tough years. Went back this week and ordered my favorites - seaweed salad, firecracker balls (Sriracha tuna goodness), and a dragon roll (shrimp tempura avocado and unagi. Just as I remembered them. The firecracker balls are like a spicy fish meatball with crunch. Delish. The dragon roll looks small (in diameter) compared to what you'd get elsewhere but it's plenty big in the flavor department. The quality of the ingredients and the lightness of the tempura make a difference. I hope Domo is here for years to come!

I love sushi, and my room mates and I love trying new sushi places, whether it be takeout or going there. The week we tried Domo was moving out week for us, so we wanted something that we knew we would love: sushi! I got two rolls: shrimp tempura and California roll. Which I sadly didn’t love…my friend got two rolls that I tried that I thought was fire!! I didn’t love the rolls I got, and not sure if was because we did take out. If I did go to this place again I think I would try soemthing new!

For takeout - if you order on their website which directs you to ChowNow, I would call the restaurant to see if the ready time is accurate, I stood by the door and waited 20+ mins later than my given time on a Friday for lunch, the server didn’t apologize or seem concerned. There’s definitely a disconnect. Domo roll was good, portion was ok. Maybe if you eat at the restaurant it’ll be a better experience.

Very small space for indoor dining. Chilly with the window open. Sushi was good and fresh. Specials were good. Reasonable prices

DOMO!!! Sit inside, at the bar, facing the street. Play a good game of ‘Fashion Police’ while eating some of the best sushi in The City. But, don’t do this on a rainy afternoon because you will just be in my way. Say “Arigato!” to the staff on your way out... They command the high praise.

Pros: tastes decent. Cons: nothing in particular. It’s just a decent sushi place.

Great service that was friendly, quick, and welcoming! The food was delicious and not overly pricey for what it was, and my friend and I left very satisfied and full. We came right around 7ish and just missed the crowd, so we were seated very quickly. The atmosphere is also just very cute and cozy overall. Would recommend! 👍
