UPDATE#2
I
Iove
this
location
but
still
dissatisfied
with
the
management
here.
Although
they
are
all
smiles
in
the
lobby
when
you
pass
by,
when
it
comes
to
needing
help
they
just
don't
seem
to
really
care.
Yes
my
rent
went
up
a
few
hundred
dollars
this
year
and
they
are
reducing
amenities.
I
asked
for
them
to
maintain
my
old
rent,
and
they
declined
saying
they
had
no
control,
but
several
other
residents
had
their
rent
fixed.
So
apparently
rent
raises
are
discretionary.
I
do
not
get
the
sense
that
they
pride
themselves
with
long
stays
--
and
other
residents
have
expressed
the
same
sentiment.
Most
recently
they
eliminated
the
overnight
safety
desk
employee.
There
is
no
one
here
from
11pm
to
9am
in
case
of
emergency.
When
I
suggested
they
put
an
emergency
phone
number
to
call
at
the
front
desk,
the
manger
began
deflecting
about
main
phone
number
and
got
a
defensive
attitude
with
me--
it
was
so
strange.
They
also
eliminated
coffee
until
9am
when
most
people
are
gone,
and
are
frequently
out
of
creamer.
They
also
skipped
the
Christmas
tree
this
year.
Lastly--
although
my
lease
says
that
pets
are
not
permitted---
the
lobby
is
frequently
packed
with
dogs...
and
owners
socializing.
The
elevators
smell
like
dogs
and
doo
doo.
UPDATE#1
The
upper
management
reconciled
everything.
Albeit
several
months
later,
but
I
was
given
the
promised
rates
and
all
is
well.
In
summary,
it
was
a
tedious
fight,
but
they
did
the
right
thing
in
the
end.
I
love
living
here,
and
even
though
it
came
with
some
challenges,
it
is
worth
it.
PREVIOUS
REVIEW
The
building
and
apartment
are
impressive.
Unfortunately,
the
customer
service
is
unacceptable.
To
date,
I've
been
waiting
more
than
two
months
to
resolve
an
overcharge
on
my
lease.
I
was
guaranteed
one
rate,
and
because
of
an
error
from
the
leasing
department
(completed
by
an
untrained
leasing
agent),
I'm
paying
an
extra
$200
per
month.
At
one
point,
they
even
tried
to
raise
my
rent
by
40%
because
of
this
employee's
error.
Luckily
after
a
long
battle,
I
was
able
to
resolve
that
portion
of
the
issue.
Since
then,
I've
called
customer
service
a
half
dozen
times
to
eliminate
the
extra
$200
charge,
and
no
one
responds.
I
was
also
promised
a
quick
resolution
by
the
Regional
manager
three
weeks
ago,
to
no
avail.
When
it
comes
to
your
money, "ghosting"
and
"buck-passing"
are
the
modus
operandi
of
management
here
at
the
Presidio
Landmark
&
Brookfield
Properties.
My
recommendation
is
to
be
extra
careful
when
signing
your
lease,
make
sure
that
your
agent
is
licensed
and
trained,
don't
expect
anyone
to
take
responsibility
for
mistakes,
and
expect
a
significant
rate
increase
when
your
lease
expires.
I
have
lost
countless
hours
of
personal
time,
money,
and
experienced
enormous
frustration
trying
to
resolve
this
issue.
Not
to
mention,
having
to
deal
with
the
awkward
tension
with
the
staff
members
who
erred.
If
something
changes
I
will
update
this
review.
In
the
meanwhile
--
BE
CAUTIOUS!
P.S.
the
rentals
at
the
Presidio
Landmark
are
exempt
from
the
Tenant
Protection
Act
of
2019,
aka
AB
1482,
which
ensures
no
more
than
a
5%
increase
in
annual
rental
rates.
Unfortunately,
it
appears
that
Brookfield
Properties
is
exploiting
the
exemption
to
maximize
their
profitability.
