This tour is one of the best kept secrets in San Francisco! Nick is knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about the history of SF!! Not only were the bikes set to our heights and named with after the coolest timeframe of music, but he bought everyone a sweet treat at the end of the ride! I mean what is better than a free, warm donut from Bob’s Donuts?! Nothing - especially after a beautiful ride around the Bay Area! I will definitely be doing this again. My father loved it as well, I will never out do this present!!

Must do tour when in San Francisco, for the first time or even if you live there. Powerful electric bikes (didn’t break a sweat once!) and a passionate and knowledgeable local guide with great information and stories to tell. Each rider gets an earpiece to make sure everyone has a great experience. We covered a great variety of stops in nearly 4 hours and Nick took the time after the tour to give more information and answer any questions. Support a local business, choose this tour and see San Francisco from a local perspective :)

What an amazing day! The equipment was in perfect condition. This ride is fantastic for most every fitness level. Nick was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He took the time to answer questions, take photos and was pleasant! Don’t miss this. Take it the first day arriving so you know what you want to see the rest of your trip.

We are locals who took our friend visiting San Francisco on a private electric bike tour. It was AMAZING!!! We all had a ton of fun, and we learned so much about the city we hadn’t known or seen before. Nick was an exceptional tour guide, super informative, thoughtful, personable, and upbeat. Because we had ear pieces we could all hear the information throughout. This experience was truly one of the best/most memorable since we’ve moved to San Francisco and for our visitor the standout experience as well. I would highly recommend going with Dandyhorse for your bike tour, it will be the best decision you make!!!

Great bikes, great tour, great guide. Just do it 🙂 The electric bike makes the ride very easy and Nick is a great guide who takes you on a route through beautiful neighbourhoods, parks and of course onto the Golden Gate Bridge. There are plenty of stops and photo opportunities , this is a great way to explore a part of SFO, highly recommended.

An exceptional fun family trip which really orientated us on our first day! The e-bikes experience was fantastic. Nick’s knowledge of San Fran was amazing - we saw great sights, had great food and left brimming with ideas what to do next. Brilliant value, you won’t be disappointed and you will be well taken care of! Recommended!

Amazing tour!!! We had a relative in town visiting and we’re looking for things to do. I’ve lived in the Bay Area my whole life and this tour completely revitalize my love for San Francisco. I learned so much from Nick and had a fantastic time! I felt very safe at all times and the bikes were a lot of fun to ride. This will be our go to thing to do when we have friends and family in town. I can’t think of a better way to see the city! If you’re visiting SF I would put this on the top of your list.

Must-have experience for anyone visiting SF! My wife and I decided to take this tour as part of our honeymoon, and it actually made us want to move here! The bikes were custom-selected and tuned for our heights, and the electric motors made the SF hills fun and easy! Nick is an excellent guide, and you can tell that he loves SF. He showed us all sides of it, the funkiness of the Victorian homes, the tenacity of Golden Gate Park, and the best way to approach the Bridge, from the top, on a trail full of awesome trees! My favorite part about SF is how bike-friendly it tries to be. Many streets only allow resident car traffic (i.e for parking), and no other city I’ve been to has so many bike lanes! The earpiece was a great addition to the tour since it allowed us to hear Nick regardless of our pace. There were plenty of stops along the way. On one we saw the homes of Jimmy Hendrix and The Grateful Dead, and on another we bought delicious sandwiches from a cool shop called Toy Boat. Nick also bought us Donuts at the final stop :) After the tour, we received an in-depth guide to the city, along with local insights about streets that are closed to car traffic on weekends, jazz bars, and food spots around the city.

Took a tour with Nick with my husband and teenage son. Nick was an excellent tour guide. We have taken other bike tours, the headsets allowing you to hear the tour guide and not feel left out were amazing. Sometimes in a city with busy streets bike tours can feel scary, Nick did a great job keeping the group together and making sure safety rules were followed. We were able to see sites that would have been a real challenge without the E bikes. He was super helpful, stayed after the tour making sure each group had plans and maps for the remainder of their trips. For these reasons I would highly recommend this tour over others in San Fran!

What can I say? This has got to be the best bike tour in San Francisco. Nick was a fun tour guide and the route had been thoughtfully planned out. I would recommend taking the tour on your first day in San Francisco because it's a great way to see a lot of the city in a few hours. The tour will give you some ideas of places that would be good to explore in more detail, according to your interests. When the tour was over, Nick spent time showing us on a map some other places to visit and yummy places to eat. Nick provided the best bikes for our Epic Tour. They made riding for 4 plus hours easy to do. Nick made sure our safety was his number one concern and we never felt worried about riding bikes around downtown San Francisco. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I really enjoyed the tour on bike. Throughout the experience, I felt safe and looked after! Nick himself was a fantastic guide and was super professional in guiding us on some busy SF streets! He gave us unique insights into the city and explored areas many may not think of going to. We biked over 20 miles, I think, and it was not difficult at all! I recommend this experience to anyone that is in SF! It’s was so worth it and I enjoyed every single second of biking! There’s no better way to explore SF than on an e-bike with Nick!

My wife and I did this bike tour on our honeymoon and we would 1000% recommend it to anyone!! Nick was amazing! He custom fit us to electric bikes and encouraged us to get used to the bike before the ride, helping us wherever he saw fit. The electric bikes were great because even though we rode 18 miles throughout the city we didn’t get tired at all! We had headsets the whole time so we could clearly hear all of the awesome history and directions Nick gave along the way. The views were spectacular and we got to see so much more of the city than we would have without this tour. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop there. To anyone considering this tour, DO IT!! Thanks again Nick for a fantastic time!

What you need to know: BEST way to hit multiple SF spots at once, bikes are easy to ride regardless of skill level (as long as you know the basics), Nick is Mr. SF in that he is an SF encyclopedia on history and things to do, this is a fun and healthy way to really get to know the city. Booked via Airbnb Experiences because we were only in town for 48 hours and wanted to do as much as we could. Enter: Dandyhorse SF Bike Tours. I'll admit I was incredibly nervous about this tour. I hadn't rode a bike in almost two decades, and even then I was never really any good. However, I decided to take a chance and rely upon the old "it's like riding a bike" phrase to be true. This tour initially appealed to my girlfriend and I because we were only going to be in SF for two days (we're from Atlanta) and we wanted to do as much as possible to get a real feel for SF since we've both always wanted to visit. Nick's tour looked like it would allow us to hit some pretty major spots in a unique way, so we decided to go for it. Nick started out with a short history lesson about SF which was incredibly fascinating and insightful - definitely put us at ease that we were going to be guided by someone who not only cared about his city but was deeply knowledgeable about it. After this brief history lesson and some routine safety instructions, we got a few minutes to get used to the bikes. Everyone else had an easy time, but I was definitely struggling a lot. However, I felt confident enough that I would get the hang of it once we were out of the small alley where you start your tour (at the Bike shop). Once we got started on the actual tour, I was surprised to feel just how easy these bikes were to ride. With the electrical component it made not only the pedaling was more effortless, the actual push off was easier as well (that's always been a struggle for me). Now while I did run into a few things, had some trouble keeping up with the group during a few points, and got a few tiny bumps and bruises along the way, Nick was very friendly about it all, and I made it through. Considering I hadn't been on a bike in almost 20 years, this was definitely a testament to how the electric bikes are such a pleasure to ride as long as you know the basics. I would definitely recommend you take Nick's advice and practice if you can on a regular bike before taking this tour - it would make it much easier. The actual tour was absolutely incredible for us - Nick took us to some historical landmarks, some incredible neighborhoods, and of course gave us by far some of the best views of SF that we would've never had otherwise. This tour was 100% worth it in every sense of the word and I love that I was able to partake. Glad we got lucky with phenomenal weather as well so we could see the Golden Gate Bridge easily and never had any trouble during the actual tour either. All in all, if you're a first-timer to SF or a seasoned native, the tours provided by Nick are invaluable if you want to truly get to know the city in a unique, healthy, and fun way.

One of the best tours in the city. Nick was a tremendous tour guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, a ball of energy, and a lot of fun. The bikes are electric - so, there is no problem getting up hills. Nick stops at loads of places for great photographic opportunities. He is also wonderful at taking pictures. We highly recommend Nick!!

We loved this tour! Nick was excellent at showing us San Francisco from a locals viewpoint! Bikes were in great shape… we had 7 total on our tour so it was a nice small group and we had amazing weather for the Bay Area —- clear views 75 degrees and sunny! Loved the stop at the Russian bakery and the conservatory of flowers too! Fairly calm traffic on a Friday!

Awesome way to see the city and learn all about the history and interesting facts of San Francisco! The bikes are super fun and easy to ride. Nick is a great guide that is sure to look out for the group’s safety and also making it a fun experience with iconic places to stop along the way for taking pictures and soaking in the views. I would highly recommend!

The day of my tour happened to be one of the most beautiful days in San Francisco. There was no fog over the Golden Gate Bridge. Nick was amazing at slightly adjusting the tour route that day so that we could get great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was my first time riding an electric bike. But with Nick’s instruction, and one ride up and down the street for practice, I felt very comfortable on the bike. It was a great experience and San Francisco highly recommend.

Me and my brother did a bike tour with Nick in a small group in July 2023. It was a great experience that honestly made our trip in SF! The bikes are easy to ride, and the route is super nice - you see really cool sights on the way, accompanied by Nick's great storytelling and interesting fun facts. Each of us got a headpiece for one ear where we could hear him very well throughout the tour. You don't need to worry about the route being physically demanding - the e-bikes have great power also for the steep hills. Nick also treated us to some very tasty doughnuts, and gave us super useful tips for SF at the end. There's lots of bike tours on offer but I would say that this one is well worth the price, and I would highly recommend it! :)

I would 100% recommend Dandyhorse to anyone. The tour my husband and I did was hands down one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever had. Nick was such a fantastic guide, full of interesting information about architecture, history, culture, and food! He truly thought of everything and the tour was extremely well organized. We especially appreciated the audio component of the tour so it was easy to hear everything he had to say regardless of where we were in the group or the background noise. We felt completely safe the whole time and the electric bikes were so comfortable! The food Nick introduced us to was spectacular and we felt like got to see so much of SF in this 5.5 hour tour. We were only in the city for part of the day and it was our first time there, and I think this was the best thing we could have chosen to do. We were on a long PCH road trip at the time and this tour definitely made us want to come back to spend more time in SF. Nick offered so many great suggestions and tips on things to see and do, providing an extensive guide at the end of the tour. When we visit SF again we most certainly want to take another one of his bike tours! Thanks a million, Nick :)

This experience is one my family and I will never forget! Got to see so many special places in San Francisco and had an amazing tour guide. He made us feel safe on the roads and was super knowledgeable about everything he showed us! He gives riders an ear piece to be able to hear him while riding which is super helpful! We LOVED Nick and this experience! 10/10 - a must do!

Nick was an absolutely brilliant guide and the tour took us past all the tourist hotspots - but in a much better way, with stops at secret lookouts and rides through gorgeous neighbourhoods. The bikes are incredible; even the steepest of streets were easy. Thank you, Nick.

This experience was so much fun! Nick is fantastic and knows so much about San Francisco. He takes you on a really great route where you get to soak in the most wonderful things about the city. The bikes are awesome and makes the rough hills pretty breezy. Nick was super patient with us as none of us were cyclists so riding again took just a smidge of getting used to. You will, no doubt, enjoy yourself on this tour and Nick is so passionate about what he does, it makes the whole thing 100 times better. Really really enjoyed this!

👍👍 Overall this was a great way to experience Alcatraz. From the moment we got on the boat, to the moment we returned from the island, it was fun and educational. The tour boat itself that shuttles passengers to the island is solar powered, which is pleasant to know it’s operating with less of a carbon...
