I myself have stayed at this hotel many, many years ago in the early 2000s and had fond memories so I decided to take my wife for a weekend getaway and we stayed on a Thursday night in February, 2022. The hotel itself is not bad. The check-in was welcoming and we even were able to buy a bottle of champagne and water at checkin, so we could enjoy both on the patio and watch the sunset. We stayed in a large room on the third floor and enjoyed the view. I would rate the view a solid 8 out of 10. We went to bed around 9pm and within a few minutes, we both starred at each other and said "I can't sleep". Needless to say, the fog horn runs 24x7 and goes off every few seconds. What we didn't notice in the evening became torture during the night. We played spa music on our phone to try to mask the recurring horn sounds. We closed our patio door and window which was tough at 82 degree temps in the room but nope, we could still hear it. We didn't get much sleep unfortunately. We let the hotel know at checkout but it's not their fault. We won't be back due to the fog horn.

Nice hotel, we were looking forward to the fireplace in our room, but San Mateo county just happened to enforce a "clean air day" on the dates we were staying. So disappointing. The customer service was good, not super great. We felt like we were being a bit rushed checking in and weren't given direction or additional information regular elevator location, luggage carts, or where our room was. When we got into the room and it was really hot and the heater was on. We had to call the front desk for help with the thermostat, it was not user friendly. We were told certain things on the phone or the website that ended up not be true. Likely the "wine and cheese hour" we were promised was actually only wine and only on Saturday, not Sunday too. So we were not able to attend, and we had looked forward to it. The "spa services" were not actually a spa, but a room for massages. Very nice room, but the communication and availability of the masseuse was not the best. Our experience was mixed, with one good massage from one person, and one bad massage from the other person. For the most part though, very clean room, nice amenities, decent customer service and very comfortable rooms. Even though the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed our time and LOVED the big hot tub with a beautiful ocean sunset view. Cozy spot. Loved Sam's chowder house nextdoor, easy walk for good food. Overall great place.

Everything about our stay was outstanding. The room was quiet and its design and layout were very comfortable and inviting. The kitchenette was well-appointed (maybe add salt and pepper shakers?) and the continental breakfast was fresh, tasty and convenient. The heated pool was clean and the hotel's proximity to the beach, hiking, town and restaurants was a pleasure. We found the mattress a bit too soft, but variability in personal tastes makes perfection unattainable.

What a beautiful hotel! The veranda type entrance made one feel special as you walked to the registration desk. Once we walked in the room, we knew our two days was going to be special here. We immediately headed to the sliding doors and opened them to see a beautiful 180 view of the bay in front of us. If we wanted to prepare meals, we had everything we could desire. The king-size bed with luxurious linens beckoned us to stay verses exploring this beautiful community. Hotel is nearby restaurants and one can walk the path to dinner.

amazing continental breakfast with hard-working and pleasant attendants; the hotel is right on the seaside with a promenade, next to Sam's Chowder house, and very close to the harbor where we had dinner at Barbara's fishtrap. Also close to Mavericks. Rooms are a bit dated (90's style), but extremely clean and comfortable. The whole hotel is super clean. Because of the rain we did not use the pool or spa. We could see them from our window and people were using them even in the rain. We will be back.

The front desk staff was welcoming and assisted me with early check in for my parents that had to 'get there early' lol. Everything was clean and well maintained. I was happy to see staff handing out the pastries one morning and following covid protocols. All of the staff were friendly. My daughter and I love staying here and although this was my parents first trip, they are looking forward to returning too. Thank you for everything! oh and it would be nice if the wine hour was every night. Thanks!

Our room was clean and spacious with a lovely partial view of the south beach. Lots of amenities (loved the fireplace, even though it was too hot to use), comfortable bed, and two TVs. And the morning breakfast was just the ticket for us. Tasty, quality baked goods, rich coffee. Plus, our check-in and check-out was prompt and courteous. We highly recommend the Beach House.

Beach House is the kind of place all others should strive to be like. The check in staff is incredibly welcoming and kind. There are all kinds of tasty treats that add to the homely feeling. When we were checking in a young girl was looking for her favorite flavor lollipop and the nice welcome lady knew what flavor she was looking for and said she would have it for her the next day. The rooms are so comfy and cozy. The fireplace was nice for the cold evening. And the continental breakfast was wonderful! They had a few gluten free options (allergic) for me so I was thrilled about that! And the other gluten full things were satisfying and delicious for my husband.

Our stay was a fabulous getaway. It was wonderful to wake up to a panoramic ocean view from our penthouse suite. The Good Wood for the fireplace helped keep us cozy during the rain. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've taken. I love the northern coast during the winter and The Beach House is a great place to get that ocean-front, peaceful experience.

A perfect stay for the weekend. Loved the rooms, real fireplace in the room, super comfortable bed - the whole experience was lovely. Walkable to good restaurants and the pier and easy path access outside the back of the hotel. The hot tub and complimentary breakfast were enjoyable as well.

We came across this adorable hotel on our way through California to Oregon. We didn’t have reservations but the staff was super accommodating. The ladies upfront were so nice and welcoming and gave us a wonderful room. The room was spacious and welcoming. The bed was super comfy and so was the couch (our daughter slept on the pull out). The room had a beautiful view of the harbor and a fire place we lit at night. The pool was the perfect temperature to go swimming even though it was a little cold and over cast. Then we switched over to the hot tub that has a wonderful view of the beach line. Their continental breakfast was delicious with an assortment of pastries, oatmeal’s and fruits. Definitely a hidden gem that we will be returning to!

I will definitely return! Very clean and beautiful. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, and amazing! Fireplace was a very cozy touch! Views are amazing! Walk right out to the beach. Beautiful landscaping, and employees are hard at work constantly keeping the entire property clean and stocked and perfect for guests. They were very friendly and accommodating. Heated pool and spa, simple breakfast, great patios to enjoy the views, or stay on private balconies. I will definitely stay there again!

Our family of 4 is very happy we decided to spend the night here. From the location to the staff and property amenities, everything met our expectations. I have to note that your Continental breakfast was better than most 4 star hotels with the fresh baked bread, homemade condiments and fresh eggs. The wood fireplace was also a great addition compared to most gas fireplaces hotels have.

very nice clean hotel over looking the water. there is also many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk, including Sam's chowder house next door. I've stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Wonderful room and welcoming staff! Our only critique is that the room we had was so close to the road, and the weather warm enough that we wanted to have the door open to hear the sea, and that meant we had to use earplugs in order to sleep well because of the loud cars roaring by all night. I think a room fully facing the water would be a better idea next time.

It served its purpose which was a convenient stopping point between SFO airport and Carmel. The reviews made the place seem like a palace. Nope. Old. Tired. In need of an update. The staff was excellent. The breakfast better than expected. Unimpressed with Half Moon Bay in general.

We didn't use the pool last year which was a mistake. My husband didn't want to go because he thought it would be cold. I had to drag him this year. The water was perfect. We really enjoyed it. There were lots of breakfast options. It's so cool that I can get a bagel and take it up to the room where there is a toaster! The room has everything. We really love it there.

I cannot thank the office staff enough for what they have done to make our wedding so memorable. It all started when we were looking for a hotel at the beginning of the year, but most of Half Moon Bay shut down due to loss of electricity during the storms. An incredible staff member, Nikki, helped us find another hotel while we were doing some wedding preparation. When we returned in early spring to finalize our wedding, we met Nikki again and we were able to book a hotel room. When we finally checked-in, we were greeted with chocolates and wine. Another staff member was willing to write "just married" on the back of our car window. We are so very grateful for the experience they have provided and views are spectacular. Thank you again for making our wedding one that we will never forget and we hope to visit again soon!

Their customer service was exemplary. Bestest choice of pastries was excellent. The first floor patio was lacking privacy. We always found parking. House cleaning was through. For the type of room offered, i felt the price was steep. Overall i had a pleasant experience. At the front desk this sign i found too be very novel and thoughtfully welcoming.

This is my second time staying at the Beach House. For the quick stay away from home is so relaxing. I plan to come hear at least once a year for my birthday or anniversary. The hotel is so clean and house warming. I recommend everyone to come stay with you. The beach side is breathtaking and the restaurants are walking distance. We can't beat that!

Beautiful hotel, room 102 is comfortable, private and quiet. Room 102 is a corner unit with lots of natural light with a pleasant outdoor seating area. Hotel staff is great. Convenient to many restaurants. Continental breakfast is very good.

This hotel was adorable! The location is great..super quiet and peaceful. We decided to get an ocean view room and it was 100% worth it! The rooms came with little fireplace logs, which was a nice touch, and you were able to call the desk for another round of logs! We ended up calling the front desk pretty late, around 9pm... and the receptionist was so sweet and let us know she was working alone and a little busy, but that she would bring us our logs with no hesitation. I can see how the parking would get a little hectic, but we went on an off season so it was perfect! We will definitely be returning!

The Beach House was just the right place for me to rest and rejuvenate. The property is well appointed and yet not stuffy. Everything from the decor to the bedding suggested comfortable rest. Each morning I woke, rolled up the blinds, and took a blanket out to the patio to watch the sun rise - and again at sunset. The experience brought a whole new meaning to "Be Still". The rooms are well insulated so there is no noise from other rooms. Walking trails everywhere provided me with being outdoors and walking off any residue stress. Morning breakfast was a bonus that I appreciated - good selections and good coffee! All of the staff were gracious and never intrusive. I will be back, I promise!

It was the exact 24 hour getaway I was looking for. I needed some time away to do some work, but to also enjoy the magic of the CA coastline and that's exactly what my stay provided. I had a beautiful view from my room and had the hot tub all to myself. It was such an intimate, lovely hotel, I will definitely be back!

We had to most wonderful, memorable and relaxing time here. Our room, the view and the amenities were all fantastic! We loved being able to enjoy a cozy night in with the fireplace and definitely made use of the in-room sound system. All hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming and it elevated our experience. We plan on coming back for our annual trip.

I've stayed at the Beach House twice now and I will definitely book again. The staff is very nice and they always said hello when I would pass them in the halls. The location is the best because I want to hear and see the ocean. The access to the walkway is perfect from the resort to be able to take long walks and access the beach. The room is clean and they provide fire starter bags for the fireplace which was nice to have a fire in the evening. Highly recommend!

The staff, especially the front desk staff was incredible. She was patient, kind and caring. I broke my foot and had some issues with walking, she went offered assistance with rooms, shower chairs, etc to make sure my stay would be comfortable. When my room was ready earlier than the check in time, she called to let me know I could check in earlier. I had issues with room booking, and the staff went above and beyond to help with accommodations. I enjoyed the beautiful ocean view, the rooms were spacious and cozy. I especially enjoyed the fireplace. I will definitely be coming back and bringing my family and friends.

I've been looking for a beach front hotel for a while now and I'm glad I came across the Beach House. My family and I enjoyed our stay so much that we are coming back to stay longer this time. We appreciate the staff, the room amenities (having a stove with a fridge and microwave is definitely a plus), the breakfast, the breathtaking view and the fact that it is walking distance to the beach. The fireplace was a nice touch as well. Everything was clean. Our only wish is to have the option to book for a single night during the weekend since we don't always have the availability to take the day off from work for the 2-night minimum stay). I can definitely see us coming back in the future. My kids kept asking me when we are coming back.

This hotel has become our "go to" place to stay in Half Moon Bay. We recently stayed there for my birthday and our stay was fabulous! The room was great, including the kitchenette. I loved the balcony overlooking the beach. The continental breakfast was fresh and tasty and fun to eat on our balcony. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved it so much that we have made reservations in November for our upcoming wedding anniversary!

We called in for a last minute same day reservation. The staff was so kind. The room and entire establishment was very clean and super cozy/comfortable - down pillows and comforter included! Shower had great water flow, lots of toiletries (which seems slim these days in other places). The "continental" breakfast was the loveliest continentenal breakfast I've ever had. Beautiful pastries and bagels from a local bakery, fresh fruit (even peaches!), high quality yogurt, delicious coffee, etc. We would absolutely stay here again. We did not have an ocean front room, but I feel like the property itself and how they appoint everything and the value you get made it not such a big deal - plus we were just grateful to get a room on a Saturday night. Very comfortable bed - slept like a rock. It was very comfortable, peaceful and relaxing there with an easy walk onto the sand.

The accommodations are neat, clean, comfortable size. shower head is excellent which is a critical standard for me. Kitchen ware was adequate for what we wanted to do there. Hotel delivered several gifts sent to us by friends, nicely presented. Ground floor room made for great outside access, with a little bunny rabbit to watch. Morning continental breakfast is very nice. [Need a place to set your tray while loading it up however]. Outside seating area nice. Adjacent room had a fire and smoke came through our flu because it was open on our side, which we then closed. Could be a warning to keep it close.

Our room was beautiful and comfortable with all the amenities that make it extra special. We enjoyed our free breakfast which was substantial and tasted great. The hot tub and pool areas were impeccably clean. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return but next time we will splurge for the ocean view!

The hotel is awesome! We loved our penthouse room overlooking the beautiful coast. The bed was so comfortable. My wife and I had some of the best sleep we’ve ever had. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the continental breakfast. Nothing but carbs. Other than that the hotel is perfect. We will definitely be back and hope to get our same room.

  • 5/5 D-Mario S. 1 year ago on Google
The Beach House exceeded our expectations! Good/positive customer service is hard to find now a days. We were treated like guests here! The rooms were so clean that I couldn't find a dusty window sill if I wanted to! The beds were comfy and and did I mention CLEAN? The continental breakfast was also very good. I loved the ham and cheese croissants! Lots of variety. The hotel was quaint and felt cozy! They also had local recommended places to visit close by, although most places closed by 9 pm. Thank you for the great service and sharing your beautiful hotel! We will be back!

Charming hotel in Half Moon Bay! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The baked goods at the continental breakfast were fresh and delicious. A junior suite had plenty of space for a family of four (loved the double sinks). Housekeeping did a great job servicing our room. We loved the easy access to the beach path; one afternoon we walked to the marina and wandered around the shops there. We would stay here again :)

We had a wonderful time and loved our stay. The room was clean and spacious. And what an advantage to have an ocean view! We appreciated the closeness to the walking trail and to Sam's next door. We were treated well by the kind and helpful reception staff. We'd considered staying at the Ritz-Carlton, but couldn't justify the room rate/resort fee/parking prices for a room that didn't even face the ocean. I think maybe the best aspect of all was the quiet and peacefulness of our stay. It didn't feel like there were many people around. We saw fellow guests at breakfast, but that was about it. I can't think of anything that would need improvement.

We loved staying at the Beach House, it was welcoming, warm, and very relaxing. We enjoyed a stormy night the first night we stayed and woke up to beautiful sunny skies on Saturday. The continental breakfast had variety and the coffee was great. I enjoyed being able to use really dishware for the breakfast as a lot of places just use disposable settings. The front desk was cordial and not intrusive. I had a very nice experience with one person from housekeeping, she had knocked on the door to tell me the "do not disturb sign" from our door had been blown down the hall. Amenities inside the room were pleasant and well stocked. The firewood was a nice treat and we enjoyed having coffee on the balcony. Music/speakers was a perfect touch as we sat around and played card games and had a glass of wine. Wine service during happy hour was perfect after long day of exploring the coast. Parking was easy and ample, the grounds well kept and flourishing. Love the mix of hardscape beams, wood, stonework mixed with the softness of fabrics and materials used throughout the building. Overall a fantastic experience and looking forward to coming back and also trying the Hermosa Beach accommodations.

Very nice rooms with lovely views. Nice how it is walking distance to Sam’s and the water. However the front desk lady was pretty rude. Our room was on the bottom floor near the lobby and we could hear music and people talking loudly till at least 1 am. The hotel staff did not seem to care when this was addressed. For $400 a night hard to think of a sleepless night is worth it.
