It's still a beautiful landmark anchoring Market Street for all these many years . And with much of the same building construction elements intact from decades ago. If this building could talk...the stories it would tell. Latch Windows,..I love latch windows This in addition to the expansion of course which spearheaded by Mayor Willie Brown himself as part of his promised revitalization and economic development along Embarcadero and around The City. Google is perched on the second floor. Who cares! Lifes realities and annoyances have a way of fading at The Ferry Building . Ouduelled by the Stellar views of The Bay and the beautifully hilled horizon. Hit a wine shop or a juice shop. Grab a dozen oysters- nice.. Shop a Deli for all manner of local fresh items... It matters not How long you've lived here, be it 2 decades (such as myself) or 2 months. Or maybe you're visiting, weighing the cost of Rent versus leaving your heart here until the next trip back. Whatever, whichever, The foot if Market Street is in good hands thanks to the enduring Ferry Building. A lovely step back I time four our present and our future.

Nice for walking, dining. Covid has caused ridiculous price hikes. Having said that, Gott's is excellent for burgers, fries salads and their dee-licious soft serve chocolate, vanilla or salted caramel ice cream! Great food and location!

Mandatory stop. It's a wonderful market, and what's more, you choose your best meal and use the Ferry if you need

SF Ferry Building after dark. Most shops are closed and a few restaurants are still open. I took an evening ferry from Larkspur and it was great to see the majesty of this SF classic without the crowds.. Acme Bakery is my usual go-to for a commuter morning. GGT ferry is a real gift for Marin to SF. Blessed to have this infrastructure.

Saturday is the best day to visit the Ferry Building, they have Farmer's Market from 8am-2pm. There are lots of fresh food venders, including artist & other goods. Inside the ferry building they feature several new local small businesses. It's like an international smorgasbord. I suggest trying a little of everything, bring someone to share with and have a day of tasting tour. The views of the city are amazing. & it is set on the ocean front of the SF Bay with the Bay Bridge front & center. & several Ferries to take you for a ride. Embarcadero is a stones throw away. Pier 39 & Fisherman's Wharf are a leisurely walk or short hop on the subway or trolly. Chinatown, Union Square & Powell circle are easily accessible for the extended tour of the city from the Ferry Building. Oracle Park SF Giants & Chase Center Warriors are a short subway ride away. Sales Force & Moscone Expo, MOMA, Exploratorium & Asian, Jewish & Yueba Buena museums. ADA accessible. All day parking is $8 at the sponsored parking lot across the street. Street parking is very limited. Public transit is your best option, BART, subways, trolly or buses & ferries from east bay & north bay. Caltrain station is a short subway ride from 4th & King.

Great place to grab a bite and hang out, similar to Chelsea Market in NYC.

If you like the finer things in life, and enjoying the price tag with it, this place might be for you. It has a range ozf different venues from all types of 1. Including a charcuterie walk up. (If you are one that drinks alcohol/wine, there is a wine tasting venue down the hall that would probably pair nicely with it) If you like options and enjoy seeing the liveliness of the area, GET HERE EARLY. We got there around 4:30/5:00, and 90% of the shops and venues were closed, and we were shocked. (Later after we left, we drove through the city and aparently most of the city shops close before 7 too. Maybe its San Fran's thing?) There were 2 restaurants there with seating open at this time, and decided to go with Gott's. They have a soft serve part inside, as well as around the corner and outside, they have their sit down resturant. A bit pricey for American food, but the burgers are thick, and the food is pretty good. They also have alcohol here too. ( stick to a single burger for a balanced taste of meat and bread and other condiments you got.)

If you come to visit San Francisco you must pay a visit to the Ferry Building. It's a beautiful restored terminal that has several stores inside. You'll find restaurants, wine, ice cream, food market, sandwiches, etc. You will also find public restrooms that are usually clean.

Arrived today on the Larkspur Ferry. My wife and I had breakfast before walking down to Pier 39. The Ferry Building was alive with people enjoying all the unique places to eat and enjoying a beautiful Saturday morning in the greatest city in the world.

From mushrooms to empanadas the ferry building is clean, convenient, and honestly has some of the best gourmet food shopping in the Bay area. There are lots of security guards walking around and the bathrooms are pretty well kept. Lots of different places to get good quick bites outside and sometimes inside if you're lucky enough to get a table. My one little complaint is that there are no benches or anything inside. If it's cold outside it would be nice to come in and get warm. I also have a foot injury so it would have been really nice to find places to sit

San Francisco Ferry Bldg. is dead. It was not like before the pandemic. Some shops have closed. Downtown San Francisco is just dead now. A lot of stores have been closed. 😔 Sad...
