I was highly disappointed. I have had amazing dinners here before and I don't know what happened but their food was super bland, tasted like the food you give to diabetics or folks at the hospital. We took the food home and tried to savage it but it was impossible. Super sad to see their food go down. Never again.

Tommy's Joint is a classic hof breau, totally unique setting that is trying to survive the fn covid. They do check for vaccination cards and masks are required. I found the atmosphere absolutely astounding and the food was tasty. I will go back and will enjoy. I recommend you stop in and enjoy! Good times and good people. Staff was awesome and accommodating!!! Do not walk on by, you'll regret it!

Came back here after more than 10 years since my first visit. Place seems to e very quiet. I guess it was a late Sunday evening.

This is a neighborhood bar that has become iconic for visitors. Great drinks, strong if you like them that way. Bartenders are great. Hot sandwiches, hofbrau style. Watch a game, enjoyable friendly crowd

I stopped by this place since it was near the music venue I was attending. I first went for dinner. I wanted to try the turkey sloppy Joe, but it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. No line, grabbed a bbq sandwich with slab cheese on sourdough bread. Was delicious. Then, after Show, Stopped and grabbed the same sandwich but on wheat bread. The sandwich was delicious but the sandwich wasn't really that big for the price you pay. The slab of cheese is 2 slices of cheese. If ever in that area again will for sure try one of the plates they offer.

I was watching Food network and Guy Fieri's Diner, Drive Ins and Dive was featuring Tommy's Joynt in the City. I drove up to the city and had a sampling. I got the BBQ beef Brisket, mashed potatoes and potatoes salad. The food was good but I came at the wrong time because the food was not freshly made. The meat was dry and the mashed potatoes was not hot. 📍Tommy Joynt in San Francisco, CA.

I first visited Tommy's Joynt, as an 18 year old, in Autumn 1982 on my first trip to the USA. I then had the privilege of visiting again in Autumn 2017 with my husband. I was thrilled to have remembered my way to the place which was walkable from my hotel. I had enthused to my husband my very good memories of the place including their amazing buffalo sandwiches with a jug of gravy - awesome. My husband and I visited 3 times during our stay in SF and got talking to the lovely staff who were so friendly. If I ever get to visit San Francisco again in my lifetime, I will definitely go back there. Excellent and so very atmospheric whilst being very unique. Posted by one very nostalgic English lady!

Came here for a quick bite at 4:30 PM on a Wednesday. Flavor is absolutely non existent. Food sits under heat lamps until it’s served. Wouldn’t come back for anything. Tried brisket and pastrami. They both sit in the same juices so the flavor is mixed up and doesn’t have distinction.

Very interesting and nice spot. The guys serving the food were very nice. Just Feel like they are missing a good barbecue for the meat. It was a good meal overall for $20 dollars

Great place for comfort food. Had buffalo chilli that comes with rice and a dinner roll. Added potato salad and I was more than full. Btw, cash only place.

A San Francisco institution. Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Locals know. If you want some great comfort food with a little history this is the spot!

I had some awesome corn beef with a side of potatoe salad and cold slaw. Make sure to get some pickles as the ate excellent dill chips. Great atmosphere and from what I understand, a San Francisco go to.

$11 for a very small sandwich which was basically just some bread, some cold roast beef and some mustard. It was truly the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life. I will never try this place again honestly. Don't waste your money here. Terrible 😔

Good place to grab some comfort food without breaking the bank. Got a plate of beef brisket with beans & rice 🍚. Pickles are complimentary, and they are good 👍. The prices 💵 have gone way up during this time of inflation 📈. Cost about $19 for the meal. Seating is open, so seat yourself, and bus the tables yourself. Tables in the middle are shared, so you can end up sitting next to other parties. They have a full bar, so it's a good place to grab a few drinks & eat. Also, open late until about 12am.

A friend told us this was a "quintessential" San Francisco bar and grill. I'm not sure what that means. I do know this struck me as a great locals type place where one could "while away an afternoon" chatting and having a few. You can also have some great comfort food plates or deli sandwiches while you are at it. Enjoyed this place a lot during my visit.

the 2 gentlemen servers at the counter are very rude. Barely want to talk to you don't really about your food choice their serving. Don't seem to really care for your business if you don't look like one of them. I found it to be very strange in San Francisco. And if you don't look like them your food servings will be very small. Indicating they don't want your business. If you look like one of them the food service is great. the food portions they serve where double to triple. Plates my family was served. And they were very friendly and extremely talkative to people who didn't like me in my family. Good luck They've been around for a very long time they don't give my business obviously.
