Not only amazing art and history but also spectacular and very grand buildings setting off the art beautifully. Spent three hours there but could have easily spent at least another hour. You have to leave all bags in the cloakroom, whatever size, and they wouldn't let me leave my coat so I had to carry it round. Descriptions of the artwork were complete; some had QR codes leading to audio guides with further information but I saved the links and looked them up later to savour the experience a second time. Highly recommended! I went on one of the FREE ENTRY days but I'd very gladly pay the modest (if you ask me) €10 entrance fee now I know what there is inside. It is the price of an aperitivo in central Milan BTW as it was free entry on the day I went (check city website for details), I enjoyed an aperitivo too! But not at the café at the gallery, sadly, because it was full. Next time...

Stunning place! We came on the first Sunday of the month (when the entrance is free) booking tickets in advance. We thought we could see only the current exhibition of Moroni, but in reality we could see an incredible amount of various rooms, halls, paintings and also a small nice garden with sculptures

The art pieces are wonderful here. I am glad I came visit. It would have been perfect if the exit is designed on a different location so that the visitors wouldn’t have to go back the same route where they entered, for the size of the musuem I would consider that if I work for them;)

In love with every corner of this gallery. When I came, there was no audio guide (probably because of the pandemic, it's just newly opened so they havent prepared). However, the museum guide was nice to me and he explained to me the details of the paintings when I ask. I like how the exhibition is structured, and also the architecture of the building itself is awesome! I will come back again to further explore Italian art!

The whole building and rooms with permanent collections were absolutely stunning! I wish the navigation and exit situation would have been planned a bit better, as I seemed to keep walking in circles and coming back to the same rooms twice before continuing to other rooms.

A rather large museum, but most of the exhibitions are hidden behind a maze like design for the layout so you really need to look closely if you want to really experience everything.

Nice art gallery in the centre of Milan, lovely staff. In my opinion, it’s not as impressive as the Gallerie d’Italia in Naples, but still worth a visit, I’d say. It is not as overcrowded as some of the other galleries in Milan either. I think it could do with some more signs as I ended up seeing the second part before I saw the first, as evidently I didn’t know which way to go (and I noticed that other visitors did the same too).

It's a nice gallery. I really like that it's in a palace and the rooms int eh first exhibit are worth going in itself. The second exhibit is a combination of classical and modern art, I preferred the modern art section. We were allowed to visit for free with our ITIC cards

Lovely museum that hid us from the chaos of the city. This historic building has been tastefully restored with modern touches, highlighting the past. We enjoyed the mix of modern art with the romantic, and the garden is fantastic! Do not miss the outdoor space.

Incredible attention to detail. Absolutely my favorite part of Madrid, stumbled upon it and wow was I amazed. Everywhere in Italy is amazing but this was just so special, all the detail work in the walls and ceilings, the art pieces just everything is stunning. 10/10 recommend when you go and visit Teatro Alla Scala

A must see gallery that has a great mixture between old and new artforms. It has a beautiful garden and a little café near the exit. The normal entry fee is 10 euro, but they offer a ton of discounts for children, young adults, seniors, groups, etc.. The entrance is right next to the small square that has a statue of Leonardo Da Vinci in the centre.

Gateway to shopping heaven, with every high end store you can think of. The decor is beautiful, and the high end shopping is second to none. The Galleria is a nice size and you could definitely spend a half to whole day visiting- as there are popular attractions , restaurants, taxi and bus stops, and souvenir stores .It is a very busy place with lots of tourists and locals. A fun day of shopping and sightseeing.

Lovely place to visit anyway, plus the current Canaletto exhibition. A gem of Milan, but cheap tickets available without booking (this was UK half-term and the city generally busy). The cafe is as good/better than most I saw in Milan, yet so reasonably priced. Really appreciated that our autistic son entered free with one of us free as carer. He loved the free audio guide (just leave passport/license etc. as deposit - seems to be common in Milan).

I'll share the confusion I experienced with visiting the Gallerie d'Italia. It was my intention to visit, and I saw the entrance across from the da Vinci memorial. But I saw the Museo del Romanticismo on Google maps and that piqued my interest. But the address is off, and I asked in 5 different businesses where it was and only one person knew. I go in and mentioned how hard it was to find and the nice lady told me that it was part of the Gallerie d'Italia, that this was it's entrance. But that's almost a block around the corner, so I was confused. We tooled through the ground floor, which is lovely and has some wonderful 19th century Romanticist paintings. I need an elevator because of my knee, but it cannot be used without an escort. We were walked through several impressive galleries to the lift, but we never found those galleries again because I walked down the stairs. And also, the Museo del Romanticismo listing on Google shows a large atrium with statuary that we also never found. In short, I missed at least a floor of rooms, and at that point I was too muddled to ask anymore questions. While inside, I did see the entrance by the monument but that entire section was closed off. Later, just to test, we tried that entrance but were waved off. So, what I saw was definitely worth it. But I would suggest doing a little more digging before walking blithely in as we did. (At the time, and it may change, the Google directions to the Museo del Romanticismo leads to the Fendi Casa store. It is actually across the street and down a good ways). Nuts and bolts: easily accessed by tram and Metro, no parking, clean restrooms, elevator available on request.

A big gallery with many rooms consist of art from different eras. You can easily spend an hour or two here. One draw back is that the tour route could get confusing, I was lost in the gallery for a brief moment.

Finally a place in Italy that is not swarmed with mindless tourists. The background classical music only enhances the experience of being g able to observe a sculpture or a painting. What I really like was the variety of exhibitions and the old school classically posh feeling that it bore. Staff were very polite and the any attending tourist noobs actually interested in art and opening discussing the pieces. Yes, it is not instagrammy, Thank God for that!

An absolute inspirational journey. Gracious and helpful staff. You do need to leave your bags downstairs (Take your wallet, if you would like to purchase from the gift shop). It may seem a bit of a maze at first, but it’s worth the walk through multiple galleries, as well as the garden. Lots of benches to take a pause to admire all the small details. Exits to a lovely coffee shop, after coat-check.

The permanent collection from Intesa Sanpaolo and Cariplo is literally a Gem. The order of the museum is quite a mess but if you take your time to visit it whole, you will be surprised by the variety of pieces. Sadly, Lucio Fontana’s vertical cut on red is missing, but never mind.

(Translated by Google) From Thursday 4 February 2021 it is possible to visit this exhibition (extended until 2 May 2021). Another sign of joyful optimism ... on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his death, from Friday 30 October 2020 until 2 May 2021, it will be possible to admire about seventy works by the Venetian master Giambattista Tiepolo (Venice 1696 - Madrid 1770) and others contemporary artists, an anniversary that the Milanese city, almost its ideal second homeland, has decided to honor through the exhibition “Tiepolo. Venice, Milan, Europe ". In these prestigious spaces, visitors will be able to marvel at the detached frescoes of Sant'Ambrogio and Palazzo Gallarati Scotti, works that for the first time are available to the public after painstaking restorations. The exhibition aims to underline the international fame of Italian artists in the European courts of that time, a record that undoubtedly belongs to the Serenissima with its prestigious talents of art and culture. The Venetian painter is an unbeatable visual exhibitor of mythological, biblical and historical subjects, becoming the exemplary spokesperson for the aspirations of the local nobility, who is portrayed alongside divine beings and brave heroes of the past with whom he can identify or ask for help. Thanks also to new technologies, visitors will be able to benefit from a complex system of projections that will involve them in a wonderful immersive virtual adventure of the vaults of the Palace of Wurzburg and the Royal Palace of Madrid, the largest in Europe, spaces that have allowed the artist to enhance his pictorial skills.

(Translated by Google) The Gallerie d’Italia in Milan is a museum and cultural center located in Piazza della Scala. These galleries are part of a project entitled, precisely, "Gallerie d'Italia" which brings together very important works of art in special galleries located, as well as in Piazza Scala in Milan, also in Naples inside the Palazzo Zevallos Stiglian and Vicenza in the Leoni Montanari Palace. The Gallerie d’Italia in Milan was opened in 2011 and houses a very rich collection of nineteenth-century works of art - owned by the Cariplo Foundation and Banca Intesa - within truly wonderful spaces. Background The Galleries are located in Palazzo Brentani, in Palazzo Anguissola Antona Traversi and in what was once the historic headquarters of the Italian Commercial Bank, in Piazza della Scala. Palazzo Brentani and Palazzo Anguissola Antona Traversi are two residences, built in neoclassical style between the end of the eighteenth century and the first half of the nineteenth century, which from their side have the advantage of being facing, as well as on Piazza della Scala, in one of the most elegant in Milan, via Manzoni. The buildings that house the Galleries of Italy are themselves works of art in all respects. Designed by important Italian architects between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th, the Anguissola Antona Traversi Palace and the Brentani Palace welcome visitors in unique and exceptional locations. The first, built between 1775 and 1778 on behalf of Count Antonio Carlo Anguissola, has a superb facade overlooking the internal garden, a real oasis of peace from the chaos of the outside world. Among its rooms you can admire valuable architectural elements, marbles, bronzes, stuccos and mirrors. On the street side, on the other hand, the facade has eleven medallions featuring busts of prominent personalities in the history of the Lombard capital such as, among others, Leonardo da Vinci, Antonio Canova, Cesare Beccaria, Giuseppe Parini. The situation is different for Palazzo Brentani, younger by almost a century, which offers decorative and overall elements more devoted to the practical bourgeois spirit, than to aristocratic and noble sentiment. Finally, the new portion of the Galleries, in which to admire the works of the twentieth century, is housed in the building of the historic headquarters of the Commercial Bank in Piazza della Scala, whose taste and refined design recall the style of the pre-existing buildings, including Palazzo Marino and the Teatro alla Scala.

(Translated by Google) Unclear access: we went on Sunday afternoon but the tickets were sold out. On the site, however, we had not found the possibility to book access or even just to check availability. An empty trip. I will be happy to edit the review when I can visit it.

(Translated by Google) We went to see the photographic exhibition 'But we will rebuild' but we discovered that the real attraction was in the works of art of the rest of the exhibition. Underestimated the beauty of the building whose ceilings are themselves incredible works of art.

The buildings are really beautiful, with very nice exhibits inside in the permanent collection which span the later italian artistic tradition (17th century onwards). There are also temporary exhibitions.
