I stayed here for over a week and really loved how small and chill this place was. The two brothers who operate it are extremely accommodating and nice. They had free fruit on most days edict was great. It was nice to have access to a private bathroom and the locker was spacious and they give you a key, so no need for a lock. The location was really great I thought. I can tell the brothers really value the customersโ€™ experiences. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great location inside in the Old City, very friendly staff, breakfast in the morning, coffee bar, small kitchen, and they speak good english. It is a hostel, but if you don't mind sharing rooms (they have private rooms available), want to meet some fellow travelers/locals, and have a cozy place to read or plan for the next day. This is the spot!

A pretty good stay for the price. WiFi was good and aircon was good but the inside of the fan was quite dusty/dirty. We booked a double room which was quite a lot smaller than it appeared in the photos. The bathrooms weren't great, the shower gel/shampoo containers were empty and there was no toilet roll. Both bathrooms had blocked drains and caused quite a large flood on the floor when in use. Location was convenient. The images of the outside/entrance are quite old and it looks a bit overgrown and untidy now. Overall not bad, maybe serves better when booking a dorm room rather than a private room.

Really great hostel, went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. Stayed there for a week and was a blast. Also they have good air con!

Overall a nice place. Friendly staff that will work with you to make sure you enjoy your stay. Good value for your money. However, just a caution that the mattresses are typical Thai and very rigid. Keep this in mind if you are a side sleeper.

Up and coming, relaxing and friendly. The owner is a younger local, has only been open 6 months as of this review. It's near a lot of nice restaurants, markets and temples. Staff are super helpful and want to get you the best experience. Rooms are a little small, but its priced really low. You can buy drinks here, laundry is a house or two down. Give them your business!!

Samsibsan hostel is a really nice place to stay at in Chiang mai. It has a private atmosphere and is situated in a quite neightbarhood. Nevertheless it is central, so you can just walk around the old town. The hosts help you to organise day trips or to rent a motorbike. And the thing I love most, the host is super friendly and enjoys spending the evenings with his guests and some beer :) It is clean and tidy, has a little & simple kitchen area and games/ books etc. If you need you can even leave your luggage in a locker for a view days, if you are leaving e.g. to Pai.

I didnโ€™t stay here, but I wish I had. I stayed at the hostel next door where the WiFi didnโ€™t work and there was no reception desk at all. I approached the front desk at Samsibsan to ask if I could use there WiFi for a minute, to which they said yes. One morning I went over there to grab a coffee and all of the workers (maybe a family?) were sooo kind and welcoming. They even helped us set up an airport transfer despite the fact that we werenโ€™t staying with them. If I ever return to Chiang Mai, I would definitely stay here!! Thank you guys for all of your help.

Cute little hostel in old town. They have coffee and toast for breakfast, and some cute cats to hang out with!
