Tickets for the scenic spot are 20 baht. Remember to have the exact amount of money ready, there is no change. It takes a while to climb the steps to get to the entrance of the cave. The steps are very high. The hole inside is really deep and shocking! The vertical height is very high, and it takes a while to go down. The cave is very wet, but clean, and there are no bats. It's a place worth visiting! Five-star recommendation!

Beautiful caves, well worth a visit! Earlier posts said the stairs were dangerous but I think maybe they've been redone as although they were steep in places they were very well kept up and sturdy with handrails the whole way down. Entry 30 baht for foreigners or 20 if you speak Thai and they're feeling generous, 10 baht for motorcycle parking (also if you're on your bike and can't look at Google Maps then you might miss the turning as it isn't sign posted...the turning has signs for a temple and mueang on hug resort once you've turned off keep driving past the resort and up the hill until you can go no further) torches were 20 baht to rent bit there are lots of lights in the cave and I used the flashlight on my phone if really necessary.

OK, I've been in a lot of caves, mainly in USA but in Spain too, and this is my all-time favorite. Why? Probably because it was so unexpectedly beautiful and uncrowded. I was unprepared for the grandeur, the immensity of the caverns. Sure, I've seen more "drapery" and adornment in, say, Lewis and Clark and Great Basin's Lehmann Caverns, but the whole experience, being guide-led, and with 30-40 others, was not as enjoyable as this site. Plus they don't have a giant reclining Buddha or Sitting Buddha watching over this historic Buddhist cave temple. It has 3, 4 chambers, quite high in spots, and plenty of key ornamentation in spots. It's well-lighted, helpful yet unobtrusive. Be aware it's a steep climb in/out with a couple low spots -- doing the limbo will be required. One can take steps on left near entrance/stairs down into cave for sweeping views of the area. There's a chedi up there. It's 15 minutes or so all uphill, a lot of rock stairs. It's a must-see, especially if you've never been in large caverns, but moreso if you're a fan of sublime subterranean grottos. You won't regret -- or ever forget -- a visit here. Did I mention wild monkeys? You'll see...

Head up the stairs before you enter into the caves. There are monkeys around and the stairs are steep. Such a wonderful view inside caves.

Well worth the climb (once inside there are 2 places where the ceiling above the stairs is extremely low and you have to stoop and crawl simultaneously) but expansive and awe inspiring once inside! There were no monkeys or bats the day we went.

Really a wonderful place. 20 baht donation to enter. ~1000 steps to the top of the mountain with a great view. 300 steps to the Cave...also requires a donation of ~20 baht or purchase of a candle. Close to Chiang Mai...good roads the whole way. Great motorcycle ride.

I've been here several times and it's always a unique place to visit. Especially if you went to Samkampaeng hot springs or Mae Kampong... it's a great stop on the way back. The cave is full of huge stalactites and stalagmites and Buddha statues and shrines. It is very well lit so you don't need flashlights. There are 900+ steps up and down to get into the cave and a slightly narrow opening as you descend but nothing difficult. If you visit, please be respectful of the people that come here to pray. Keep the talking and noise to a minimum.

Beautiful cave with several small shrines and Buddha statues. The energy in this place is amazing. We arrived around 8am and were the only visitors so could sit and meditate in the cave in complete stillness, which was a magical experience. You can rent a flashlight at the entrance, but don't really need it as the cave is pretty well lit up. After visiting the cave you can walk up the stairs to see the beautiful view over the surrounding area.

Perfect day trip. Nice cave. Don't miss to go on the top of the mountain, beautiful 360 view.

A fascinating and surprisingly large cave structure + mountain stair trek to explore with just the right amount of danger to feel exciting but not unsafe. The caverns are huge and the staircases are solid with some sections being quite narrow. No lights necessary as there are lights inside already. The trek to the chedi is a bit of a challenge but the view is very nice from the peak of the mountain. Overall very much worth the 20 baht maintenance fee.

Unexpectedly large cave! Small 20 baht entrance fee, free parking and a toilet. We also walked up to the viewing point, its a bit of a climb up the stairs, but worth it for the view.

The width of the cave was 20 times as large as I have imagined and it was huge! I’ve never seen the cave like that in Thailand. It’s maybe even bigger than “Tham Khao Luang”. Entering fee is only 20THB so it’s really worth visiting. There is hot springs nearby about 15 minutes drive, and nice fancy cafe named Skugga Farm as well, so you can enjoy traveling around in this region for whole day.

Something different to do in Chiang Mai. Entry is 20baht per person. Parking 10 baht, toilet 5 baht. Cool cave in the side of a mountain that has some significance in Buddhist culture and history. Many sculptures, small shrines and statues can be found throughout the caves. For a non-thai person, it might be difficult to follow along as there are some signs in thai only without an english translation. Also, its quite a steep ascent up some flights of stairs on the side of mountain, then once you are through the cave entrance, theres quite a few steep set of stairs you need to descend, with some stalactites hanging so low that you need to crawl down the stairs.

Really impressed with these caves. Much larger than I anticipated. So much fun exploring with the family. Like going on an adventure. The cost of entry was 20 Baht I think, parking was free. Can help the old guy by renting a torch for 20 baht, but not compulsory. Can feed the monies on the way up the mountain. The view at the viewpoint further is supposed to be amazing. But it's quite a trek.

Really nice place to visit, so lovely and cool on a hot sunny day. So surprised by how large these caves were. Lots of fun for the kids to explore. Understand there's a beautiful viewpoint further up the mountain. Did not do it ourselves as I understand it's a bit of a trek

Beautiful cave, suprisingly huge. Parking for scooter - 10 bath, toilets. 5 min walk from parking place. There is also monkey feeding point on the way up. Tickets for entrance - 20 bath a person. Very narrow entrance, not for everybody. Totally recommended.

Amazing.... Worth the visit and going down into the cave. We also walked to the top. Nice views

The climb is hard and there’s A LOT of stairs but I guess the climb is worth it when you get to the very top, you can see the whole jungle. Would recommend seeing the cave first though then climbing the stairs as the cave closes early for some reason by the time we got back down the guy was away & the cave was closed so didn’t get to see it.

Recommendable to visit here together with kamphaeng hot spring, if planning to visit kamphaeng hot spring. Not far from kamphaeng hot spring. Free entrance. Inside of cave is not deep, Just about 100m deep in distance from outside gate. But steps are very sloping. Should be careful. Do not go inside with children.

A great detour on the way to Mae Kampong. Was charged 10B to park my scooter, 5B to use the toilet and 20B to enter the cave. Torches not needed. Allow about an hour.

A bit of a hike up but the steps are well maintained. Come in the morning or late afternoon when the weather is less hot and the climb less arduous. We paid 20 baht per person for site maintenance and donated some money to the cave temple.

We went here on a whim and didn't quite know what to expect but I really enjoyed it. It's quite steep going up and then down into the cave system but we enjoyed it. Apparently you can feed the monkeys nearby but we didn't stop to do this ourselves.

You can hike up to the view point. It is very nice. The cave is also quite impressive.

The hike to the top was a bit arduous in the sun, but the trail is well-maintained. The cave is half-way up the hill... large and beautiful.

This cave is rarely visited by tourists. So if you come and visit, I think you are very lucky. Nature is still intact and beautiful. Most of the Thai people who come here come to pray for the relics in the cave because they believe that it will bring success in life. This cave is quite steep with stairs going up and down. I think it is not suitable for the elderly, those who are unhealthy and those who are overweight.
