I think this place is best for people that are not in a rush to get to work or class as things such as a breakfast sandwich can take a long time to make. People in here usually like to take their time to read the newspaper or just enjoy their morning. If this is what you are looking for, a relaxing and chill morning, then Cafe Zoe is your place. It is definitely nice to see for a change that people are not rushing in and out on a hurry like in Starbucks. I also like that they have a great wifi in case you are planning on working at the cafe. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and clean bathrooms.

Not really sure why anyone would give this place a good rating. Takes 10 minutes for them to slowly enter your order in. Then need another 5 minutes to write it down… slowly. Per customer…Then instead of someone being able to make the coffees in order - they slowly take the orders of the next 10 ppl in line -slowly slowly slowly -then begin considering possibly making the coffee. The americano had no flavor. I am all for a chill vibe but honestly 35 minutes to get a coffee and a “pre-made” breakfast sandwich that they re-heat is just bad service. The coffee cake was good. The cafe itself has a cool laid vibe. Won’t ever come back.

Not much to add, but this is a quaint coffee community ☕️ shop I’ve visited a couple of times. Coffee and tea selection is standard fare and decor is a bit dated but definitely a cozy meet up and study space. WiFi was okay and parking seems not too bad, though limited in the front. This time around I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich that was just so so. But edible with included salad. I didn’t expect much and didn’t get much but still not bad for such a place. Still it’s nice for the community around to have such a spot to get their coffee and meet up that isn’t just a Starbucks or what not. So definitely come support this local business.

Zoe cafe is the best place to start your day with a good cup of coffee and fresh pastrie. Nice neighborhood, excellent service, friendly staff and beautiful gifts from local sellers. They try to suppost small businesses around the Bay area. On Fridays they have open house for live music. Highly recommend to visit this place, try good coffee and buy some pretty gifts for any occasion.

For over the past few months. The services have been very terrible, usually my son has gone there to order a decaf iced mocha for me and plain grilled ham and cheese. Due to my pregnancy i am eager to eat a grilled ham and cheese then to drink my favorite iced mocha with decaf. I once received salami in my bagel and i did not order salami at all. I notice also that the guy over charged my son usually i give tips for appreciation…. After what happened i didn’t give tips anymore. Because of the reason! it does not mean my son a young child does not know yet about tips percentage i just say you can not take advantage on kids. I am a regular customer of cafe Zoe since the cafe it was only walking distance from our home… I’m just disappointed of the workers I truly love the owner in Cafe Zoe and we are supporting local businesses… My son go there with a notes what to order so technically i don’t know why they are still making mistakes about our order… Here’s our smoothies not full completely and we have not drunk out of them yet. I hope next time we get a proper service either adult or kids who made the order.

I stumbled upon Cafe Zoë today and cannot wait to go back. I wish I lived within walking distance because this place is special. I got the Chai Latte and it was delicious, but it’s really the whole vibe and Kathleen, who was so friendly and welcoming. We also tried the coconut bread and it was delicious! I can’t wait to go to live music there!

Cafe Zoe is local business at its best. This is the kind of place you walk into and feel like you are supporting the heart of a community by patronizing it. The owner (the young and genial Matt) makes a point of remembering your name. Conversation is real and service is outstanding. The pizza is superb---thin crust, fresh ingredients and featuring and a creative concoction of the week (the paneer tikka masala pizza is my favorite yet) or you can build your own. Cafe Zoe has my business (and my heart) as long as I'm in the neighborhood. Such a great local spot.

  • 5/5 Jackie S. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent neighborhood spot! We very much enjoyed our cappuccinos and lattes while sitting on the lovely front patio. Went back for lunch and had a wonderful ham and Brie panini and tuna melt, both served with a nice side salad. Lots of other things on the menu we look forward to trying soon! Also look forward to checking out the live music nights and happy hour. Enjoyed looking at the array of lovely home items on display for sale as well. Kathleen at the counter is a joy to talk to, making a great experience even better.

Cafe Zoë is cool 😎! Very community-focused. Great attentive staff. Local coffee shop / healthy cafe in Menlo Park (walking distance to Palo Alto)! Great coffee and loose-leaves TEA! Healthy panini sandwiches with side salads. A great relaxing and caring place in Menlo Park! Wow! Yes, breakfast all day, and beautiful art works from local artists. Like the amazing Bruce Spencer Photographs that had been featured in the online news outlet called InMenlo…. Cafe Zoë in Menlo Park also has live music nights, trivia nights, happy hour nights, and free WIFI. They are super KIND and would go the extra miles to serve your needs. The owner Kathleen is a super caring and intelligent person for our communities! 🙏❤️🙏 The outdoor seating arrangements are comfortable; surrounded by beautiful arrangements of succulents and olive trees, spaces for working, and / or chilling with your preferred drinks. This has a calm and genuine community environment. We LOVE to come almost every morning, read a book, relax and enjoy ourselves here at Cafe Zoë! 😎❤️😇

Good coffee, pastries, beer and wine. Tasty sandwiches. Fun music nights.

  • 4/5 Ariana R. 4 years ago on Google
Overall, the breakfast sandwich was good, and I liked that they offered tea lattes for their loose leaf selection! It's a cute store with places to work. Only negative was that they forgot the breakfast sandwich order ahead of ours, and in fixing that mistake they then forgot about ours, leading us to wait about 20 minutes before getting our sandwiches (after asking.) But! They were very apologetic and gave a refund without us asking, so really a net neutral on that, and probably would be a positive if we weren't in a hurry. Worth checking out!

I love the taste of the coffee here, and I think the service is so nice and friendly. This cafe has a great vibe and it's my favorite spot to go to in the Bay. I love the vibe and the local community feel.

Super friendly staff and great oatmilk latte. The breakfast sandwich isn't the best but it's only $5.

  • 3/5 Michael D. 1 year ago on Google
Nice staff (very friendly) & good outdoor seating, but not sure why this is so highly rated. Our americanos weren’t good at all & the breakfast sandwich was average. Guessing it may be due to the pastries? The coffee cake was pretty good.

  • 2/5 Suzzan I. 1 year ago on Google
It's more of a coffee shop than Cafe. They don't do fresh food. The best they do is microwave the frozen items for you when you order them. The display shelves in the front of the shop are covered in dust, so they are more for looks than for sale. Maybe for a local naighbourhood coffee fix, this is the place to go? But if you don't live within walking distance, I really don't see a reason for you to be a returning patron.

  • 5/5 Benjamin F. 9 months ago on Google
Cosy neighborhood ambiance, with end of the week animation and awesome pizza from the neighborhood pizza guy. Who drive miles to spend a Thursday or Friday evening there with friends and a glass of bier.

There's so much to love about this place – but a special shout out to the new vegetarian/vegan sandwich options!!! The Southwest is delicious! (NB: mildly spicy, so probably not kid-friendly.)

  • 1/5 Raquel H. 6 months ago on Google
I thought café Zoe had great coffee. I was served Luke warm watery coffee and the person that helped me could not answer basic questions as he said “he had only worked there for a year”. (?) I love the pizza guy and like supporting local, but service on the coffee front needs to improve. So disappointed.

  • 5/5 Akbope K. 4 years ago on Google
Nice place with very attentive staff. The have little area for kids to play, so you can enjoy your coffee with bagel or even work a bit while your toddler/preschooler will be playing. Recommend for working parents struggling to entertain their kids?

  • 5/5 Kathy W. 4 years ago on Google
Good coffee! They created a nice environment here. I like my coffee plain, so I can't comment on the specialty brews. I also like the paninis they serve as well. Smells great in here.

Grilled chicken sandwich was ok. Willows Roast coffee is quite good. Sandwich needs same level of flavor as coffee. Grew up on Menalto as a kid, mom still lives here, so wanted to try this place out as we didn't have anything like this in '60's and '70's. Looks like folks around here enjoy it. Borders in the Green and Rainbow realm, which is fine. Grew up tolerating weird realms much better than others here tolerated my views. Find that best places to eat focus on food first, versus being a gathering place, and that leads to being a gathering place. (Look at breastaurants, excuse the pun, wrong focus - dropping attendance.) Focus on cooking the chicken breasts and adding some zing to the flavor, instead of flags and signs. Leads to more stars on reviews. But definitely stop by for the Willows Roast if you want a good, rich cup of coffee.

THEY ARE OPEN REGARDLESS OF WHAT GOOGLE SAYS!!!!!!! Current pandemic hours of operation: 8:00am-1:30pm Monday thru Saturday, closed on Sunday. See most recent photos for some of what they have right now. They have new shirts in stock as well! This place is AWESOME. Great coffees, espressos, tea, smoothies, pastries, breakfast burritos, small gifts, local artists artwork and photos... They have trivia night on Thursdays (currently online) and open mic on every 3rd friday (online right now). Incredibly nice staff. It's family owned, GREAT place, please support local businesses, this one is definitely worth it.

I appreciate the friendly and kind atmosphere. They are very welcoming and kind. I always get the oatmeal with the walnuts & raisins. A very holistic and joyful place. Their chai tea latte is also another one of my favorites.

Small cozy cafe close to Palo Alto with limited breakfast options. The lady at the counter was super friendly and even suggested other options close by per our culinary preferences. Would recommend for a quick drive-by or a snack.

This is your average coffee and pastry shop tucked away within a residential neighborhood, no more, no less. The number of pastry options are there, just not much variety. If you come for a bagel, opt for a different pastry Instead if you're in a hurry. There's average parking out front.

This used to be a nice stop for me when I was in the area, but during this last visit I couldn’t help but notice how messy and unkempt the cafe was. The coffee tasted a bit burnt, but the bagel sandwich was alright. It’s very dark and cluttered inside. There is a lot of potential to this place so hopefully it is cleaned up and de-cluttered.
