The best of the hostel are the french crepes for breakfast! Joel & Lorenza are great host, you really feel at home there. Location is good, close to restaurants and bars, walking distance to supermarkets, easy acces to public transportation. Great place to stay while visiting Asuncion.

It took me 30 seconds to realize it was a mistake to even think about staying here. The place from outside looks like a hundred years abandoned house. Inside still looks like a hundred years abandoned house. Sketchy as hell. Falling apart in pieces. One dude opens the door and treats you on the most unpleasant rude possible way. It’s hard to believe places like this exists… by the way they don’t receive payment with cards. Save yourself and book somewhere else.

One of my best hostel experiences!! The owners do everything with all their heart. You feel like part of the family straight away. It is really an island in the middle of Asuncion with a pool, a beautiful garden, big open air kitchen with dining tables and the best atmosphere. Good beds, air conditioning (really important in Asuncion), clean bathrooms, airport shuttle service and one of the highlights: the amazing and royal breakfast every morning! 100% recommended!!! Thank you very much!

It's very clean and quite. Their service is a french standard for every aspects such as great breakfirst, air conditioning, hot shower... You will not be disappointed with this hostel.

Extremly amount of mosquitos inside and outside the house. Dark, hot and smelling dormitory. I could not sleep at all in such a room.This is tge room with the cheapest beds. The other rooms seem to be better. Good breakfast, friendly stuff.

This is THE backpackers hostel you were looking for. Owned by an absolutely positively charged french couple, the atmosphere is just incredible. Travellers from all around the world. Book at least a week in advance

Such friendly staff, we really felt at home. One of our favourite places in south america. Great location, fantastic breakfast, strong wifi, beautiful rooms and nice pool to cool off in.

Good time with sweet people managing an outstanding hostel in Paraguay. Asunción might be slightly different and frightening but they really made me feel at home.

The place is Amazing!! We loved the big kitchen!!! 1.Sergey “the Russian Orc of Mordor! Thanks for a good stay. We loved your place and setup! 2.Yohan!!!!! A What a good person!!! A top class intertwined. He is always smiling. He never sleeps! You made everyday a happy day at Isla Francia! The world needs more persons like you! 3. Albert what’s the helper and cleaner always runing to the shop. Good man. Over all we had everything and more. Our stay was nice and cofterbile. We had space and very good conversations and entertainment(Yohan). The only thing I would change is the staff uniform. Gray pants and red shirt. Like Sergey always have. I rate the hostel 4.9/5 Thanks, Sergey and Yohan.

Cash only - which is annoying. Staff are nice but its very annoying have to ask someone to either leave or enter the how’re as it is locked 24/7. Give guests keys maybe? Other than that, its good value for money. One of the cheapest hostels I’ve ever been to in South America.

Door is locked so need to use bell, but this was completely okay. Staff are super chil, we had a BBQ during Christmas 🎄

The garden is particularly nice, friendly staff, useful kitchen, good location. Having only 3 beds in the room was great.

Cosy, clean and friendly : Isla Francia is the perfect place to rest ! Laurence, the owner, and her son are absolutely lovely ; the place is well located, calm and full equiped. One of the best point is about the kitchen : for once, you will find everything you need to cook a good meal 🤤 We spent two days there, and we have only one regret now : not to have stayed longer ! Highly recommended 👌

Good location, something to consider is that the staff need to unlock the door to let you out which means you sometimes need to go find someone in the hostel. Not really a problem until you are in a rush however we've since been told this is a normal practice in Asuncion
